"Congratulations! You have been selected as a candidate to have your brain copied to serve as the cognitive backbone for the first generation of cybernetic synthetic androids ever to exist in the world! Special courtesy of Genius Doctor Cthyophubo!"

"If you consent to having an image of your current brain copied and reproduced in robotic androids, you and your future descendants will be compensated with a royalty of $66,666 (inflation-adjusted for 2019 USD) for every android that is produced using your brain." (note: only one heir allowed per generation!)

"The brain imagining procedure is completely non-invasive, painless, and harmless to you."

"Additionally, the snapshot of your current brain will be stored on our secure servers for eternity, making you effectively immortal. However, every android produced using your brain will contain an independent copy of your consciousness (and memories up to today) -- but we cannot guarantee that your android copies will receive human rights."

"Currently, our planet lacks human rights for cybernetic androids -- although it is possible that the World Government will change the laws in the future."

"Please let us know if you consent to this deal!"

Would you allow your brain to be copied?

The biggest question is what are the androids going to be used for.

What descendants? Can androids have descendants? I think the answer here is “no”?

But to answer the poll, I picked “no, for other reasons” because my answer encompasses all the “no” answers.

... if they are using my brain as the blueprint, the future is fucked. BIG TIME.

But I will say yes to money. Cuz it's money.

I meant the original you and the original you’s descendants (as in kids), will be paid the royalties.

Ah. Because you used the word “future,” I thought you meant the android’s descendants. Although granted, right now, all my descendants are “future.” (Doesn’t have kids yet.)

    1. No because its robo clones. Robots technically doesnt count as "human" or living thing. Unless its "star wars" clones were talking about.

    2. No for other reason. If my android clone is like me or basically me in an android body, im expecting a hot headed droid that will massacre anyone bossing it around.

Just to be clear — just because they are your clones doesn’t mean that you own them.

Rather, this contract is a license for the manufacturer to build androids using your brain. Presumably, they will be sold on the market and you will receive a royalty of $66,666 per sale — it’s sort of already evident here that it’s kind of a expensive kind of product — or at least not cheap.

If my Clone is used to reduce the world population and pollution i would agree but im afraid you will need so many of my clone bc every of them will have suicidal thoughts and self destruct.

    So..better not

Yes because if you use a living free thinking human mind capable of thought change expression suffering etc as the basis of a large scale pervasive and permanent change to the social structure then you better treat them right or else. dont think of them as things think of them as immortal people and people tend to rebel violently with disproportionately harsher responses

No. Once you transfer your brain to robot we will lose all emotions because there are no more chemical process and turn into just a memory bank. Then will we be the same entity afterward?

But even then you would still have values and memory of being treated better and therefore be able to make the simple judgement of this state equals wrong so I should rebel

I think for this kind of situation since you are dealing with an undetermined future for potentially hundreds to thousands to millions of years — Murphy’s Law should be a good rule of thumb.

Namely, anything that can happen to your androids will happen to them.
