Yo so I've been thinking. How do we define coolness? Is it personal taste or is it decided by a collection of people? Like imagine if you had this really sick haircut and then other folk come along and say its shit. What happens then? Is it cool because you think it is or is it lame because others think so? This is a deep philosophical question I've asked myself and I just wondered what others opinions are.
Personally, I base on temperament. Those who are unfazed by the spotlight and go through their own way are cool.
It's cool because it fits on the stereotypical notion of cool. If you do the subjective kind of cool then you'd also get varying critique. Just listen to spongebob and hold your pinky up to be cool.
I think there’s a lot of people who probably think my haircut is lame. (´・ω・`) Buuuut! I’ve also got a ton of fans, so maybe it isn’t? (^ω^)
I think things can be cool or not cool depending on the person. You can think that you yourself are cool, but don’t get too conceited lol. Also don’t force your opinions on other people.
Temperament indeed. I can think of three situations where characters showed an incredible aura: 1-Desolate Era: Subhutti comes to rescue Ji Ning. He just arrives, says calmly "Vile Creatures" and everything in the area is shattered. 2-Warlock of The Magus World: Leylin Farlier in the purgatory world goes in a weakened state to the middle of the fight between many rank 7 dignitaries and just chooses to make a sacrifice to the World Will, and borrows its strenght to sweep clean the battlefield. 3-Shen Yin Wang Zuo: Long Hao Chen breaks through rank 6, asks his retainer about the 10 virtues of a knight and goes to fight an enemy above his level.
Yeah but what if going through things there own way are seen as embarrassing, such as walking through the streets naked because they have no clean clothes or living in igloo during winter because they can't afford rent. Would it be seen as cool cause they are stubborn and going through life as they want or lame because they are being shameless. (Ps I have no idea what point I was trying get across, so if you don't understand we are on the same boat)
Hahaha I think what you wanted is to emphasize the importance of appearance. Though one could go on walking their merry way, there's limits to it if you consider propriety. I think that's important too. Our freedom is still limited.
Hmmm... so your saying if I owned some nice Gucci gear and Prada and lived in Antarctica I would be cool? Hmmm guess i gotta move then.
Yes but what if the explosion was sound less and the person walking away didn't know there was an explosion? The person wouldn't flinch but would they still be cool?
