I,,, think the novel was Korean?? I’m super unsure on details, since it’s been a couple years since I read any of it OTL
The MC is reincarnated as some sort of monster? but the key point is that he can change between specific forms. I think there was at least an orc, a goblin and a wolf form? and he eventually saves a girl and becomes the local cryptid.
I’d appreciate anything that this reminds you of!! Something made me think of it earlier, but even after a couple hours looking I haven’t found anything q-q

A little spoiler. It's the cluster of everything you will encounter and love about Korean novels with Game Elements. It could have been perfect at everything and the final battle wasn't so shabby either. But what happened to him in the end really sucks especially that the female lead is waiting for him to come home.

Yup. I completely agree with you. the ending is a bit off for me but otherwise it's a really great read. Well at least the ending doesn't feel too forced. I can understand the logic, but it's still sad

Their relationship was really a big deal in the novel especially that he's monogamous and not into harem. The fact that the novel ended with them apart and him not remembering her really leaves a bitter aftertaste of what could have been a good Korean novel.

This is a great thread, not only is it about a forgotten title of a good novel, but it also included the ending.
