Have you ever started reading a novel with 1000+ chapters then get bored of it, I find that it happens a lot.
Yeah. It's what I experienced with Against the Gods, ATG... as well as Chaotic Sword God and Bringing the Farm to Live in Another World... and Dragon Marked War God Generally reading up to 600 chapters gives you a good way to predict on if the novel is a hassle or not.
I drop it mostly. . . . specially those type that have paragraphs that can be shirtened in one or two freaking sentenced. . . . cough* c. black **** and many more. . . . but well sometimes I just skim the whole chapter. . . .
it all depends on when it gets boring, if it's boring from the start, I just read about 10/20 chapters and drop it if it doesn't get better, though sometimes I drop them when I feel that some of the characters do stuff that is too stupid to be acceptable, and by too stupid I mean too stupid
If the novel isn't repetitive vomit and the storyline still captivates me....I will read a long online novel until the end. Black Belly Miss is the only CN translated novel that, so far, falls into that category for me~ However, the length of a story doesn't matter, it's all about how well the author can captivate my attention and engage my feelings/intellect. Unfortunately, when translations are slow or incomplete, you can't guarantee a satisfying read from a long novel.
I don't ever start stuff with 1000+ chapters, if it has this many chapters and didn't finish yet, it probably isn't that good anyways.
You can get the feel of the novel in the early 100 or 200 chapters. I drop something mostly in there, except for the stuff that is heavily recommended to go past the beginning like in Renegade Immortal and Pursuit of the Truth. But then again, I stockpile chapters so if there is boring stuff, it gets balanced out.
It depends on the story tbh ... I drop novels with far less chapters if they are a pain to read, while some stories I enjoy even after 3k chapters and wait for the daily updates ... however, a lot of the novels are just a chain of repeated 'scripts' ... so the 12th arrogant young master in the restaurant lusting for the MC's girl is getting a bit annoying ... I would just order take-away ...
>1,000 chapter novels are intimidating in that they have monstrous word counts, but so do many print books if you're into fantasy.
