I just hear the news that lord of the mysteries got censored by removing half of a chapter results in the author’s planned plot is no longer valid, which is very bad. It makes me think that how many novels that fell victim to this censorship and turns a good novel into a typical garbage novel that have a shit plot amour. I’m so mad rn btw

Oh, I guess the author wasn't praising the regime, the army and the Chinese people's superiority enough. No dissing Americans? No hating the Japanese? Well, too bad, he didn't try to please the censor enough, so now he gets hit. What else can you get under communism.

Since 23rd of May, nearly 1.2 million books have disappeared from Qidian site: “the Qihuan channel has lost 350,000 books, the xuanhuan channel has lost 80,000 books, the martial arts channel has lost 14,000 books, the Xianxia channel has lost 140,000 books, and the Modern channel has lost 210,000 books. The real story channel lost 14,000, the military is less than 14,000, the history channel lost 50,000, the game channel lost 70,000, the sports are lost 7,000, the sci-fi lost 80,000, and the supernatural lost 30,000. The girl's network lost 70,000 books missing, the two-dimension(anything to do with anime) channel lost 70,000."
by the way, qidian site still does not allow you to browse all the books, they only show 5 pages of books on each category.

More like a conservative society than communism or anything like that, you get things like that in the bible belt in the US too. Conservatives get upset at things a lot of us take for granted.

Yeah, maybe, I wouldn't know. I'm speaking more from the perspective of someone who grew up in an ex-communist country. I was a kid when the regime was overthrown. During the regime, books and movies were rewritten to fit the regime's narrative, lots got censored for not obliging. People thrown in prison for writing uncomfortable truths. And so on. I basically see the same in China, just the modern version.

Well, I think we're talking about the same thing, but I have different opinions about the cause.
This is not because of the censorship system of the Chinese government, at least not this time.
This is QiDian's own problem, it tries to prevent all possible troubles in the simplest way: Delete.
Can it do something more reasonable? Yes, of course.
But why not? Because it won't bring benefits.
In fact, the censorship system of network fiction is designed to avoid: racism, terrorism, excessive sexual content, anti-human behavior, etc, which being frequently discussed in the forum. This is only for network fiction.
But QiDian doesn't want to have any trouble, so some completely harmless content will be required to be modified.
    Bro, this is the capitalist.
I'm not defending censorship, and I hate it, too.
But this time it's really not about censorship, it's just about QiDian.

This is the part which deleted by QiDian.
In fact, we were all surprised when this happened, because this part seemed to have no problem.
But then we thought we had found the most probable reason.
It is stated in advance that the following is not related to discrimination against any ethnic group or religious belief.
Following is my revised translation with translation software:
    ——
The man then knocked on the isolation door, flashed into the cab, and said to conductor:
"All the trainmen have been replaced by us, and the bridge ahead will be the place where the sacrifices will be held."
The conductor with a bushy beard nodded:
"May God be satisfied with the offerings of this cart.
"May we have eternal life in the kingdom of God."
    ——
It doesn't look special, does it?
    Let's extract keywords:
    Bushy beard…
    God…
Have eternal life in the kingdom of God…
    What you have thought of?
We're sure that's the only possibility, otherwise it's really impossible to explain: QuDian's review system is not only searching for keywords, but also searching for combinations of certain keywords in the same chapter.
In fact, we don't think anything would have happened without "Bushy Beard" .
Finally, it is emphasized once again that:
It is not related to discrimination against any ethnic group or religious belief.

In fact, many authors have appealed for the implementation of the censorship system of network fiction before.
Are they crazy? No, because they just want to make money. But the content of many writers is "too much".
You know what? Even ten years ago: The author's editor encouraged the author to create porn content because it attracted readers; MC's massacre in Japan is considered a perfectly normal act; Chinese supremacists are the choice of the vast majority of authors…

This topic introduces part of the content.
It was barbaric growth, and all hatred and discrimination were magnified. Everyone thought something was wrong, but they couldn't change everyone.
All of these promote the censorship system of network fiction.
It is emphasized once again that:
I'm not defending censorship, and I hate it, too.
But at least for now, I don't have to worry about seeing those nasty racist and anti-human acts again.
That doesn't mean I agree with censorship.

Well this is the same regime that wants to reduce everyone to numbers. Damn shame since I really like this novel, too.

What the heck!? Qidian is trying to avoid racism? So what's with all Chinese vs the world and their justified genocide of the Japanese in many of their novels?
