I'm looking for a good JP novel to practice my translating on. Problem is, all the ones I've seen are ones that I don't actually like. Anyone have any recommendations? P.S. Please don't give me any: - "Slice of Life" stuff, even if it's an "Isekai" slice of life (Ex: Old man living slow life in a VR, the strongest wizard became a guardsman, etc ) - Any "OP from the start" stories (Ex: I level up just by walking, The strongest in the world isn't a hero it's a fairy, Evil God Average, etc) - Pervy/Borderline-Hentai novels (Ex: My Yandere Succubus Daughter is Mommy-Warrior's natural enemy, My moms turned into son-cons, I am a witch requested by my love to make a love potion, etc)
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/dokuhakihime-to-hoshi-no-ishi/ - If you choose to translate this (or perhaps to help you decide), I'd read https://www.novelupdates.com/series/mimizuku-to-yoru-no-ou/ first though I also have no idea where to get raws for this.. that's not a translation recommendation :thonk:
why is the examples you provide are all that have running TL-ers working on it?and u saying u dont like and putting those novels means that you dont like them doing those novels?
Thanks for translating intergalactic empire. Its one of the first thing i would look at when i open NU, hoping fo updates.
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/here-is-blue-justice/ another suggestion, though I have no idea what the story will become since I've only read the first 2 chapters.
If you want to find a decent JP novel Overlord and GATE are the two novels (and anime) that I personally like. Invincible Saint ~ Salaryman is also a decent one (but it kinda went downfall in the late-stage), That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is also fun to read. There's also Re:Monster and Goblin Kingdom (dunno if they're JP too lazy to check)
Let me clarify: I want to translate a novel. I would like someone to recommend a Japanese novel for me to translate. Don't give me a novel which is similar to the ones I've listed, because I don't like those types of stories
While I like Overlord and GATE, they already have translators. Plus, let's face it, both of them and Invincible Saint Salaryman feature MC's which are OP from the start, which isn't what I'm looking for. Reincarnated as a slime is more of a slice of life novel (I actually read the light novel before it became a manga and anime). I'll see what's going on with Re:Monster and Goblin Kingdom though. If they're Japanese (cuz I can't translate anything else) and they're not any of the types of stories I'm avoiding, I might just go for it
