I’m definitely not a well known person on NU or expect to be. I’m just still overwhelmed that I finally got my surgery done after it looming it’s ugly head on me for about four years. I had end stage liver disease, AKA cirrhosis, from autoimmune hepatitis (immune system attacks my liver basically). Had surgery on the last Thursday, the 4th and now I just got home this Tuesday the 8th. I’m glad to be free of all the IVs and tubes I had to be attached to and back in my own bed which is unfortunately, in an affectionate way, not as comfortable as a hospital bed. If anyone is interested here are some images of the stapling holding the incision in place to heal, extremely NSFW for the light hearted. They tied you up well... Here's to hoping u never hv to enjoy the comfy hospital bed again. Welcome back!
glad you can do stuff now. make me wonder how i will die in the future. Edit: The stitch is not bad, at least not that gruesome.
My father had a operation just this summer. Prostatic cancer but thankfully it was found early enough, right now he still has some problems with keeping his bladder but it gets better. For him personally it was quite the mental crisis though, you see my father is the number one healthy man in the family he never had anything big and thus never went to the hospital for anything so that was quite the ordeal for him. Right now he still has to go for some after care viewing to make sure that everything is gone but so far it’s all okay.
I honestly don't know you, but get well soon. Autoimmune indicates that your immune system went haywire, but if it is not congenital then it means that certain habits of yours are killing your liver, causing this super cell response and fibrosis. Maintain your health mate!
Heres a toast hoping you will have a fast and immediate recovery, and hope you wont have those ghost pains, they are really annoying
Looks like you were cast in Frankenstein's Monster Also, did someone draw a sad face on your stomach?
Congratualtion on a sucksesful surgery. Now you just have to make sure you don't have to go back to get the stitches redone.
So, did you thought in any moment about suicide or something? You know, end stage disease, surgery cost and etc?! i'm in a similar case, but i'm already suicidal and going to pay a huge amount to stop the progression is...
