Freedom of speech does not equal freedom from consequences. If your tweets would cause 20% of your coworkers to lose their jobs would you do it?

Heh, what about those blizzard 800 job layoffs just to save a little cash? Clearly blizzard is a money grubbing scum company that could give less of a shit if some of their employees jobs would be lost if it would save or make them more money.

those "layoffs" happened to reorganize and make stuff more reasonable
which in a multi means: you didnt do jack shit to earn your wage so bye bye
also it wasnt a surprise morning announcement but a planned one after long talks

I think both are not without sin imo. Blizzard is a company and as such is meant to make money including foreign investments. having a "champion" of one of their games make such a statement can give blizzard very bad publicity = lose money. But honestly blitzchung is one of their "champions" and his personal beliefs should not effect his prize(s). Perhaps a fine and a shorter lenth ban would be more in line with the offense. Blizchung shouldnt have done that in the interview. Make a facebook post saying his "prayers are with them", or "this win goes out to all the protestors in china", etc. He shouldnt have shat where he ate

Stopped my WoW subscription. Chose other personal reason as cause. Entered:
    >"Every voice matters"
    >As should the voices of Hong Kong's people

According to Blizzard's policies, Blizschung would've also been kicked out for making a post or tweet. Either way, he said he has no regrets. Also the protesters are in Hong Kong, not China.

So you support banning a pro player for showing support for human rights AND FIRING BOTH CASTERS WHOS ONLY CRIME WAS BEING THERE?

Activision Blizzard made record breaking profits recently and only a few weeks after that they immediately fire 800 people

Hong Kong stuff it's pretty fucked up, it's a reasonable protest against evil, nonetheless that kind of stuff should be reserved to other kind of occasions TPO:sushi_potato:

blizzard reponse was inevitable, they can't lose acess to the chinese market, and we all know how much china hate criticism, i just have to mention winnie the pooh and am already on a chinese watch list

nevertheless the player and commenter had the right to express their opnion and they knew the consequences, and still did it, for that they have my appreciation

and this is the reason why e-sport will never evolve into perpetual sports like footbal or chess, because of their ultimate reliance on IP owner companies.

you cannot have the game without the company, and no company will remain fair/objective when their bottomline is threaten

the caster knew and endorse the political statment
i think there was a tweet clarifing that prior to putting th mask the caster said (translated) "says the 8 wprds and we will end the interview" with the 8 words being some slogan of the protestors

Even though China is doing systematic rape, organ trafficking and Nazism, majority of top companies would definitely choose profits over philosophy and morality, no doubt they would choose China's demands over human rights.
