Was thinking whether to read this next. I'm so bored, but at the same time don't feel like starting a new novel... But I have to cause I'm bored and have been watching tea channels for the past three days and it's getting to me.
Drama channels on youtube. They talk about gossip basically - who did what and how other people reacted. Lots of outrage for small issues and petty drama. Things of no substance or meaning, but it kills time.
What would you like to know? I'm currently reading this rn. It's a okay read so far, nothing too special. I'm half way through with ML realizing he likes MC (he is well aware she's not the orig!host) while MC is still trying to hook him up with his 'white moonlight'. Although, seeing how he's been responding towards this 'white moonlight', I'm starting to really question the author (the author of his story, not the actual author) if this girl really is his 'white moonlight' (MC believes that ML will only realize his 'feelings' after losing the 'white moonlight', at least that's what she keeps telling herself). Other than that, I guess the only other characters worth mentioning as of now is her brother whom had been training under ML (thanks to MC). But after their father's return, he was forced to go back to his previous training teacher (who wasn't even properly training him), and forcing MC to continue with the engagement she's been trying to break off. Where I'm at right now, MC and her brother saved a wounded girl who was being chased by the crown prince's assassins. MC knew who she was the moment she saw her and decided to save her so she can bring her to ML. Her town had been suffering and needed food and money but received no support from the emperor. Her mission was to find the ML to help bring that support since the crown prince claimed he would but in reality, the money he 'sent over' was actually used by him. When MC's brother found out, his loyalty towards the prince was destroyed. After they came back home, he decided to talk to his father-- which resulted in him becoming house arrest for a month. In the end, MC decided she also wanted to help ML with the support and wrote letters to her brother while sending over food. When ML received MC's 'lunch box' he opened it to find a bunch of different new and old currency (ingots etc). At the bottom was a letter from MC and her brother. Extra note: orig!host's mother looks exactly like MC's deceased mother. She grows very fond of her and became even more determined to protect her family from ruin because of this. She's glad her 'father' in his world isn't the same scum father from her world, but as of now he still isn't pleasing in her eyes. Still, she can't help but feel he looks very familiar.
I MTL-ed this one, it's pretty cute as a light read. Basically our mystery transmigrator ends up in the body of a cannon fodder villainess (prime minister's daughter?) in a novel, whose ending and that of her family's are miserable. She ends up forcefully married to someone/killed, her dad sides with the wrong prince and is executed, her brother is a fail general, and her mother dies of grief after her father dies. Of course, MC isn't willing to die that easy. Main causes of death: siding with wrong prince and offending the ML by causing his 'white moonlight' girl to die. MC plans to be matchmaker between ML and his 'white moonlight' to avoid death, while keeping her family alive. Main cast MC: Our transmigrator has a kind of silly, cute personality in a sense. She has a lot of plans and tends to klutz them up a little or misunderstand ML (when she believes ML must be in love with the 'white moonlight' girl) for some funny moments. But she's smart and not a pushover or useless. Has a very rich imagination that drives ML insane. ML: A secret prince (the current crown prince is a fake) who's aiming for the throne. He was mistreated by the Jiang family as a servant (he was in hiding) and the villainess caused his 'white moonlight' to die. In original story, he succeeds in his plan but treads over the Jiang family in revenge for what they did -- they were kind of a useless garbage villainous family in that timeline, at least going by appearances. Does a metaphorical facepalm or "..." a lot when confronted with MC. MC's brother: A stupid rich young master who's gung-ho about joining the military. In the original timeline, all his tutors (to keep their jobs) told him he was the greatest and caused him to be an incompetent general who rushed to his death and ended up committing suicide. He has a very strong relationship with his sister (honestly one of the best parts of the novel) and ends up not-so-useless. Actually a 'good seed' according to the famous 'Arrow God' tutor who becomes his master much later, despite how 'dumb' he looks. His master's words, not mine lol. MC's mother: Looks exactly like MC's mother who died (in pre-transmigration world), which convinces MC to take this world seriously and keep Jiang family from death. MC's father: Prime Minister who's often away from home. He seems like a jerk, but we learn later he's doing it all for family and he's a sly fox. He saw some of what was coming and tried to send his kids away so they'd stay alive (hence trying to insist on the engagement MC was stuck in for a while). Also cock-blocked ML lololol~ 'White moonlight' girl: She's a nice girl who was sold into prostitution. Was forced to death when orig!villainess degraded her in public (dropping her courtesan ranking) and she was sold for reals to some yucky person. ML didn't save her in time in original story and she became the white moonlight in his heart, even when ML ended up getting together (I think?) with the real female protag after becoming Emperor. In this story/timeline, MC saves her and she's super grateful to MC. She's eventually returned home/sent to the countryside after MC finally realizes that ML isn't in love with her lol.
I'm sorry but MC trying to get ML and the White Moonlight (WM) together really cracks me up. Spoiler: Teaser She wrote love letters on "behalf" of ML and sent it to the brothel, ML has no idea of course. It had been weeks (?) since the letters were sent and she had not the time to gather updates. So one time when MC and ML were in town, they saw the white moonlight. MC was excited because her hard work was going to pay off... or not. It ended up that WM was illiterate. But she was still vigilant because the messengers were saying "strange stuff' aka just making it seem that ML is really, really sincere on the orders of MC. ML was restless, because who could've sent the letters? Was it the enemy? Was it the organization he was investigating? What was in the letters? Were there hidden toxins? There was no letterhead - who could it be? But then he saw MC sitting upright - strangely upright. And she wasn't looking at anywhere near his direction. He then vaguely remembered stacks of PINK LETTERS on MC's table and then guessed that MC was the one who sent it. He retrieved the letter, read some sentences, and then WM was worried and asked if something was wrong. ML just brushed her off by admitting to sending the letters and made up some reason for the letters. In the carriage, MC was still frozen. ML: Anything to explain? MC: ... ML: Don't recognize it? Let's listen first... "*insert name of WM*, from the first time I saw you, I knew who you are... My woman." MC: ... ML: "I have never lost my way in my life, but now, I want to ask - how do I get to your heart?" ML: (according to author, *looks so peaceful, like going to heaven") ML: "Do you know what's more painful than when you hurt your hand when playing the zither? My heart..." ML: "Do you know how different you are from the stars and flowers? Stars are in the sky, flowers are on the ground, and you... are in my heart.
There are more funny moments since MC misunderstands/is dense for a while but yeah, that was a really good one. ML's frustration is hilarious. cough, also that one time MC gifted antlers (which are like Viagra for men in traditional Chinese medicine) to ML because he wasn't being proactive in chasing the white moonlight girl. And author's note on how MC basically dug her own (future) grave with implication that ML's going to bang her into senselessness for this lololol~ The confession scene when MC and ML are finally on the same wavelength was cute~

There isn't any one moment that I recall, mostly MC and ML spend a lot of time together and doing a lot of things together when young and grow up and slowly fall in love. MC's mostly oblivious until ML confesses, though she shows signs of having feelings much earlier. ML realizes a lot sooner than MC lol. And yeah, I think in the extras they're mentioned as having kids but don't quote me on it. Read this novel months back. XDDD If you mean the white moonlight girl, she fades out of the scene without any fuss. She's not a green tea b*tch or anything, she's actually extremely grateful to MC for helping her out and happily goes back home to the countryside. I'd say this happens around half of the way through the novel? Or 3/4th-ish. MC later realizes her plans were all fail, because ML never did end up spending that much time with the white moonlight girl because ML ended up getting fixated on her instead -- so ML and white moonlight girl were both only at acquaintance-level. LOL
Sorry for the late response, I had to go back and re-read/skim because I didn't remember much about the female protag lol. Her screentime was that little. Female protag is mentioned as a female general who teams up with ML and helps him attain the throne. We learn this after it's around the time she encounters ML in the original story and MC gets sad and worries ML might like her, and he makes her cough up her worries. (by this time, ML has long known MC is another soul and they've finally gotten together) ML has absolutely no interest in female protag even though she might help him fight and sends her to his buddy (a neighboring prince to the west). That's the last we hear about her lol.
@scriptor am i remembering right? That MC confessed to ML that she transmigrate, and the reason she was worried about that female general as she was ML’s wife in the orig world...
Well, MC doesn't outright say 'I've transmigrated.' ML first figures it out by himself, then confronts MC who gets stuck thinking how to respond for so long that it's an answer in itself. After that it's not really spoken of but understood between them. When the female general situation comes up, MC and ML are already a couple and they talk about it openly. MC was distracted and ML asked her what was wrong, so they started talking. ...it's kind of funny, because the defining point in the original story/novel that ML fell in love with female general was when she came riding up on her horse on the battlefield. ML barely recalls there was a girl on the battlefield riding up to him on the horse LOL. poor girl made zero impression Later when ML on a different battlefield and thinks he sent MC away to safety, MC rolls up in a pseudo tank and ML has his 'omfg i'm so in love' moment.
