I also prefer Female protagonists in both manga and novel. The protagonist must be strong and calm in times like this. Rather than a damcel in distress that relies on her teammates to survive and ends up as a burden. Anti-hero protagonist is the best. Thanks
What about Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? The first half of the story about her life in the labyrinth is basically a story of survival as a creature that's at the bottom of the food chain. It's a really good novel. Actually, I think it's the most viewed novel with a female protagonist on this site. And also, this might not be what you asked for, but I Reincarnated as a Noble Girl Villainess But Why Did It Turn Out This Way? is kinda oddly a survival story too when you think about it. Surviving in a world of politics and wars. It's literally like a shounen battle manga except the MC is a girl...more or less.
