So the other day, Ai-chan got scolded by an old friend for not reading Ai-chan's voicemail. It had something to do with her changing her phone number or something. And Ai-chan asked her, "Couldn't you have left an SMS?" And she said she didn't like typing on the small keyboard. The problem is, Ai-chan never opens Ai-chan's voicemail. Ai-chan doesn't even know how to open voicemail or if it still exists. Which makes Ai-chan wonder. Do people still use voicemails these days? When was the last time you receive a voicemail on your phone?
....... I know voicemail exist but for decade never use it nor ever heard it personally I even forget how to set it up..... so tbh idk how voicemal sound like
Holyfuck, voicemail. The last time I used it is, IDK, 14-15 years ago? Edit: and I just realized that this shows my age. Ugh. I'm old already.
I use voicemail still. Usually for appointments, some family members who are shit at texts, and for work calls. Last time I got one....maybe a week or two ago?
I still use voicemails ....because I never pick up my calls lol I usually get automated ones reminding me of my appointments But I use visual voicemail now so it's much easier to organize and navigate
I can never understand the use of voice mail. Or even the multiple missed calls you see people get when someone desperately needs to get a hold of someone. I see it a lot on tv shows where it’s an emergency and a person is called over and over. They don’t answer for whatever reason and the caller leaves a voicemail message to call them when they see/hear it. Depending on what the emergency is, by the time the person sees the message and calls them back someone could have died (especially in cop shows). Why not send them a text explaining everything. People check their texts a lot more than voicemail. It’ll save so much time and maybe a life.
I knew it exsisted, but not that it was actualy people stil using it. Helll i don't even know how to use it (send and open) even tho i know i should be able to do it on my phone, actualy i don't think there is any phone you can't recive voice mail on.
The only time I ever get voicemails is from my grandad lol I'm pretty sure some businesses use it too, though.
To leave a voicemail requires the receiver to set up a a message with a beep. If there's no message + beep, then the sender cannot leave a voicemail. As for me, voicemail is rare, but I do receive them now and then.
My vet uses voice mail so does my optometrist. My parents and older relatives. I will also leave them voicemails. They hate having to find their reading glasses. As for how to use voicemail on cellphones there should be a Preprogramed number titled voicemail.
That's only true for landlines. Cellphones have a default voicemail setup, that you cannot access unless you personalized your voicemail. In saying that I don't have a landline now and my voicemail says txt me. It doesn't stop them leaving voice mails so I just ignore those calls.
