Spoiler Love in the Midst of Mistaken Identities

What about the suffering of ML to get the forgiveness of FL or his actions after finding out the truth? I want to know more about his suffering and if FL just forgave him since 'he is the dad of her daughter, her first love and blah blah'?

 

This is going to be super super long since XYX ended up being a really persistent antagonist throughout the story, but anyway.

Spoiler: What happened to the mom and Xia Yixuan

Sometime after Chu Liu came back from overseas taking care of Li Man-something’s fake first pregnancy (also during the time when Xia Ruoxin and her daughter are being taken care of by the doctor), CL managed to see Xia Yixuan and so he went to the Xia family’s house to get at explanation.

There, he found XRX’s mom already sobbing out of guilt for the way she treated XRX all those years.

XYX’s explanation was that she did get into an accident but didn’t want to get married since she was also seeing someone else at the same time (it’s indicated that she actually had a lot of boyfriends since then) and so she decided to fake her death without caring about what would happen to XRX. She’s been spoiled-rotten from the started and has grown used to XRX giving in to her, so she only thought it was natural that XRX shouldered all her burdens.

CL was angry and asked her for the amulet (which he originally gave XRX when they were children) back and that’s when it was revealed that the girl from CL’s childhood memories was actually XRX.

XRX’s mom cried harder, saying how if it wasn’t for her, CL and XRX would’ve gotten together sooner.

Afterwards, the mom continuously tried to apologize for all that she had done, but XRX no longer saw her as her mother and told her she didn’t want to have anything to do with her anymore. She only asked her mother to keep her daughter’s existence a secret from the Chu family.

Since the mom didn’t do anything to help XRX all those years, the mom kept her promise and didn’t tell anyone.

She tried to give a savings account card to XRX’s daughter(because she knew XRX wouldn’t accept it), but the daughter didn’t take it either.

As for XYX, she couldn’t take it when everyone looked at her with disdain for faking her death and pushing all the blame to her step-sister. (I think they concocted some story of how she supposedly lost her memories and that was why she was away for so long, but people didn’t really buy it)

She eventually realized that CL was the best man for her and so when XRX went missing, she tried multiple times to seduce CL again but it didn’t work.

Then when CL’s mom lost sight of XRX’s daughter, she went to XYX for assistance and seeing it as an opportunity, XYX convinced CL’s mom to plot against XRX so that CL would never find out that CL’s mom lost CL & XRX’s daughter. What they did was call XRX to go somewhere to meet them (thereby letting XRX know that CL lied about their daughter being fine, though she doesn’t know that it was because CL and his father were still trying to get ahold of CL’s mom) and CL’s mom confessed that she lost the daughter. I don’t remember how it all went since I somewhat skipped through this, but XYX pushed XRX into the water with the intention of killing her.

After that, they forged a note that implied that XRX ran off with her daughter over anger due to the whole kidney transplant thing caused by CL’s mom which CL found to be heartless of XRX(they were sort of getting along well during that time).

XRX was rescued by the doctor and having ‘lost’ her daughter, she decided to plot revenge against CL’s mom.

When she came back, CL found her and managed to get her to marry him again (in secret, though still official) and CL’s mom is against it. XRX then tells CL’s mom that this was her revenge against her: to ruin her son’s life so that she as a mother would know how XRX feels about losing her daughter.

XRX helped a competitor to cripple the Chu business and ‘cheated’ on CL with the competitor himself. (I don’t remember it, but I don’t think she went all the way with the guy)

CL was in a downward spiral after that and XYX tried to take care of him then(I think she also found out somehow that XRX was doing all of this out of revenge and didn’t actually want to get back with CL).

CL’s mom told XYX her worries and they decided to trick XRX into meeting them somewhere by saying they knew something about XRX’s daughter’s whereabouts with the intention of murdering XRX again. XRX knows it could be another trick, but she was also desperate to find her daughter again so she went to meet with them

Things turned out so that XRX had the chance to kill CL’s mom, but couldn’t bring herself to do so after seeing her wedding ring. Then XYX tried to stab XRX but stabbed CL’s mom by mistake. CL’s mom didn’t die, but she ended up in a coma.

XYX then lied to CL that it was XRX who stabbed his mom. CL then tried to strangle XRX but couldn’t bring himself to kill her so he left it to XYX to let XRX go and that he never wanted to see her again.

This gave XYX the opportunity to really torture XRX for days—she starved her and then made her eat something really spicy so that she lost her voice, broke her legs, used a knife to ruin her face, etc. Right before XYX was going to come back and finally end XRX’s life, XRX managed to escape and get rescued. The man who rescued her is the eldest of son of the Lu family (which is on the same / perhaps even slightly higher level of that of the Chu family); he is also the same guy that CL tried to send her to in their first marriage but who didn’t touch her (which he promised CL) and only agreed to go along with CL’s scheme due to a business deal or something.

He asked XRX if she would be willing play the role of his dead younger sister (since she had a similar facial structure) to ease his mom’s heartache and she agreed to it, also because she could enact her revenge more easily with her new identity. He also helped her fake her death so that XYX thought that she died in a car accident. Her new name as the sister was Lu Xiaohua.

She won over the hearts of the Lu family and it was revealed that the mother could already tell that she wasn’t her real daughter but still doted on her as she already considered her as her daughter. Same goes for the rest of the family.

Anyway, with her new identity, she was able to work for the Chu business as his PA(?) and suppress XYX.

A bunch of stuff happened and then XRX as LXH abducted XYX and tried to torture her the same way she was tortured (I think only going as far as starving her) but she couldn’t get any satisfaction out of such revenge. Eventually, CL found them and rescued XYX and in the process, accidentally stabbed XRX/LXH.

Anyway, the Xia family couldn’t do anything against LXH since LXH revealed that she knew about XYX torturing XRX and causing her ‘death’. CL also agreed to marry XYX to stop her from pressing charges, though admitting that he doesn’t love her.

During this time, XYX was plotting to murder CL’s mom while she was in a coma to prevent her from telling the truth about how it wasn’t XRX but XYX who stabbed CL’s mom. She didn’t know that XRX/LXH was following her movements and preventing her from succeeding. XRX even gave CL a hint about it, causing CL to hide his mom’s whereabouts from XYX.

Finally, the mom woke up but XYX was able to convince her to keep quiet about it and give her blessing to their marriage since by revealing the truth, she would also have to reveal the entire truth about them plotting to kill XRX and about losing XRX and CL’s daughter.

XRX/LXH then blackmailed XYX into signing over her own half(a significant portion?) of Xia family assets over to her, which she then signed over to XRX’s mother.

Then she blackmailed CL’s mom to get XYX and herself to confess to everything on record and revealing everything at CL and XYX’s wedding.

XYX tried to run away, but she got caught and CL had her tortured or something. After some time, she managed to escape and everyone thought she died.

When she reappeared in the story, it was when XRX/LXH already lost her memories as XRX(she already managed to verify by that point that she was really XRX and that her memories had been wiped by a hypnotist, though she had yet to retrieve her memories). At this time, XRX’s daughter was already found and reunited with CL and there’s a new character who looks a lot like XRX. Originally, CL hired the lookalike to pretend to be XRX for his daughter’s sake but when the daughter recognized her mother in LXH, the lookalike was basically cast aside who then decided to pretend she was XRX to XRX’s mom to take advantage of their wealth. XRX’s mom was desperate to make amends with her daughter and so she pretty much agreed to her every request.

XYX got ahold of both XRX/LXH (as revenge for imprisoning her and causing her lies to fall apart) and the lookalike, thinking that she was really XRX.

CL came and rescued XRX/LXH and had XYX shipped off to the same gold-panning place that XRX was previously sold to.

After some time, the antagonistic brother of the now-deceased sister with one leg overhead CL’s convo about where he shipped XYX off to and secretly tipped off XYX’s father about it. XYX’s father then secretly took some money and managed to get XYX out of that place.

He tried to convince XYX to lay low elsewhere and try to live on safely out of the radar, but XYX was insistent on coming back to have her revenge. She also fantasized about changing her face to look even more beautiful to help her in her revenge, but the doctors rejected her as her malnourished and frail physique wouldn’t be able to handle such surgery.

She then went to find Li Man-something (CL’s second ex-wife) who was sold into some shady business (which catered beautiful women to the rich) by her own family to pay off her brother’s gambling debts. She paid for LM?’s freedom on the condition that LM? helped her with revenge, thinking she hated XRX as much as she did.

In fact, the ones that LM? hated the most was her own family for selling her, so once she got free, she sold the house that CL originally left for her which was under her name (causing her family to be kicked out of the house) and used some/all of the money to pay back XYX. LM? met up with CL and warned him about XYX since XYX seemed dangerously unstable. LM? then left to live a low-key, quiet life elsewhere.

[EDIT: (I just remembered it now)
XYX's plan then was to kidnap XRX's daughter but since she was heavily guarded, she kidnapped the Chu adopted daughter and threatened CL's mom that she would hurt the girl if she didn't bring XRX's daughter over. I still can't believe this happened, but CL's mom managed to pick up XRX's daughter from school (since the school didn't really know any better about her strained relationship with CL, XRX and their daughter) and actually left XRX's daughter alone with XYX.

XYX then somehow managed to get ahold of XRX and CL(eventually realizing that LXH is XRX herself), hurting them both, and right when she was about to kill XRX, XRX's daughter managed to get the knife and stabbed XYX. XRX then stabbed XYX as a way to make her daughter believe that the daughter's stabbing action didn't count.]

CL then finally had XYX locked up in jail.

Around the same time, XRX’s mom could already tell that the lookalike wasn’t really her daughter. (She also eventually ended up recognizing LXH as XRX at some point later, but didn’t reveal anything since she could tell it’s what her daughter would’ve wanted.)

She then gave the lookalike a chance to own up to her lies, but the lookalike had already gotten greedy over the wealthy lifestyle so she stuck to her lies. In the end, XRX’s mom and her husband moved out of their house, dismissed the help, locked up the house as well as froze the lookalike’s accounts. Also, the huge amount of debt that the lookalike incurred on her credit card was under her real name, so she couldn’t get away from it easily. She then sold everything she had but it wasn’t enough (right before she realized that XRX’s mom was onto her, she casually threw away expensive stuff, thinking she could easily buy more) so she ended up going to jail.

XRX/LXH went to visit XYX, but along the way, the lookalike asked to to see her. The lookalike asked why XRX’s daughter considered LXH as her mom more than her and so XRX revealed her real identity.

Then XRX went to see XYX who still hated her guts. She threatened XRX, causing XRX to turn around and leave. She then wanted to call her back to save her from jail but by then, XRX was already gone.

Interestingly enough, that’s the last time we see XYX.

Later on, when XRX’s daughter needed a kidney, XRX’s mom secretly tried to offer up her own kidney(which XRX found out about). However, XRX’s daughter said that she didn’t want to take the kidney of any of her relatives.

As they all grew older, CL was able to convince XRX to meet and make amends with her mother since they were all ‘old’ by then and could tell that XRX needed it.

 

Let me just say that the real flaws in these stories is that the male characters rarely ever suffer enough or at all for the wrong things they’ve done and that the torturing of female characters tend to be casually used for mere character development or to incite readers.

Rape, cheating, angst, physical and verbal abuse—I feel those were all used just to make readers cry and take the side of the main character.

Spoiler: The ways in which the ML suffered and tried to redeem himself in this story

After figuring out that Xia Ruoxin was his real first love, Chu Liu wanted to apologize and make amends but could also tell that there was nothing he could do to make up for what he did to XRX all those years.

One time, he saved someone he thought was XRX from a car accident but it was actually just someone who looked a bit like her. He then tried to stay in the hospital longer, hoping to get a glimpse of her since that was also where the doctor worked but she never went to visit him.

After divorcing Li Man-something and finding out that he has a daughter (who didn’t like him and only acknowledged the doctor as her father at that time), he had that custody battle with XRX to keep her from leaving—which he lost.

(Around this time, he also started a new anonymous account to buy XRX’s art and chat with her)

Then Li Man-something and the man who provided her with the stress-reliever pills kidnapped the daughter and told CL to come alone. CL got hurt in the process, which caused the daughter to stop being angry with him.

But then a little later, the daughter got into a car accident which caused her to lose a year’s worth of memories.

The daughter still ended up getting close enough with the doctor to call him dad again and didn’t really acknowledge CL.

The doctor could tell CL’s presence was like a ticking time-bomb so he convinced XRX and her daughter to move to his home country with him. CL believed that the doctor would treat XRX well so he let them go.

After the doctor decided to marry someone else and XRX and her daughter were basically kicked out of his home, XRX needed money to pay for her new place (still abroad) and managed to get in contact again with CL’s online persona to earn money.

A little later, the doctor was revealed to have developed a drug addiction (his insane wife injected him with drugs every night while he slept) and eventually managed to divorce the wife. XRX and the doctor’s mom tried to help him overcome his addiction, but he had a tendency to become violent when suffering from withdrawal. CL came and helped them for a couple of days.

Once again, he tried to get XRX to go back with him but XRX rejected him, so he went back alone.

Some stuff happened and so XRX and her daughter flew back to start a new life without the doctor again. CL found out and basically, forcibly inserted himself into their lives and upon seeing XRX’s goals of buying a bigger place, pulled strings so that XRX would buy a bigger house for her daughter and herself. Then when XRX needed to earn money to pay for the mortgage, CL stopped logging into his online account so that he could push XRX towards taking up a job at his company.

At that time, I don’t think XRX ever thought about taking him back. It’s just that she didn’t want to involve their daughter in the things that happened between them in the past.

Then the whole kidney transplant thing happened.

Then XRX and her friend went missing and CL did all he could to try to find her. Collaborating with the guy who was also looking for XRX’s friend, they managed to track down a vague clue about where XRX and her friend were taken to. Their best idea in finding out where the women ended up was to get captured themselves. (They both suffered a little themselves, but not to the same extent)

Taking the same sort of ship that XRX and her friend took on the way to the gold-panning island/country/place, the two guys decided to split up to head to 2 possible destinations and CL ended up going to the correct destination and managed to save XRX and her friend.

Due to the really bad conditions of what she went through, the doctors said that XRX’s hand was a lost cause and that they would have to amputate XRX’s hand and XRX agreed to it, but CL basically forced them to save her hand.

After reuniting with their daughter back home, CL's mom then just HAD to mess things up again.

(CL's mom secretly took XRX's daughter out with her and the adopted girl with the intention of getting close to her real granddaughter on the advice of CL's father, but she ended up neglecting XRX's daughter and didn't realize till a long time after that she had gone missing. And because she was so scared of how CL would think of her if he were to find out what happened, she didn't answer anyone's calls and decided to go to Xia Yixuan instead for help.)

The time that CL suffered most was probably when XRX came back for revenge. In the process, his business empire crumbled due to XYX giving his business secrets to a competitor and lost his original job position (he was removed from the board), he became somewhat poor, and finally XRX decided to 'leave' him for the competitor. He was actually aware that it was XRX who betrayed him, but thinks it was XRX being angry at his mom over the kidney transplant thing. (He still didn't know that his daughter was actually missing--he just thought that XRX was hiding her from him and his family)

It was only on his wedding day with XYX that he found out about everything. As already mentioned in a spoiler I posted previously, he already knew XRX's supposed death was faked, but knew that he didn't have the face to meet XRX again unless he found their daughter.

The next time he got hurt badly was when XYX kidnapped their daughter.

The reason they got back together? XRX no longer had any intention of finding a second father for her daughter as she didn't want her daughter to turn out like her and she felt lonelier as she got older (this was emphasized when she saw how the doctor was able to start a happy family with his formerly psycho ex-wife and who was now his wife again). Then she decided to try giving CL one final chance. If it didn't work out between them, she would then never get back together with him.

 

That's not enough suffering for him. That guy even believed FL's sister and tried to strangle her in his mom's coma case. Didn't he love her then? The audacity of this guy...tch!

 

I think xrx is a hypocrite refusing to forgive her mum but she actually forgave her asshole of a husband for everything he did to her. I hate the fl, I wished they would have killed her since she's so stupid and she won't be missed

 

I really don't know why they ended up together

 

Like I said, there’s a tendency in these stories to make the female characters suffer in rather unrealistic circumstances and rarely ever make the male characters go through the same.

There are only a few male characters that I actually liked

Chu Lui’s cousin - He’s not entirely perfect since he went along with CL’s behaviour even when he knew it was wrong, but at least he’s one of the few characters who called him out for it. Plus he’s gay and is really cute with this other guy he’s with.

San ge - He’s the guy who saved Xia Ruoxin’s friend Shen Wei. This is a whole other story within this story, but basically SW had a somewhat similar past as XRX but much more tragic and this is the guy who found her and saved her from the aftermath. Also, he had already fell in love with her when they were kids (he was a starving orphan wandering the streets and she was the daughter of a rich influential family and while they were still kids, she gave him food and clothes) but then her family moved away, so he only managed to find her again after she went through so SO much. The only thing people might not like was how when he was in a critical condition and didn’t know if he was going to make it, he had CL tell everyone that he already died and to also give the other man (also the same guy who advised CL that the best way to torture a woman was to have her feel like she was in heaven before plunging her straight into hell) a bit of time to see if he can still win over SW after having unraveled their own misunderstandings with one another as well as in case SW still had feelings for the other guy. He didn’t want SW to choose him only out of gratitude for saving her. If you didn’t like how XRX ended up with CL again, you’d probably much prefer this couple’s story.

(Plus their son is so funny. His son ran off to XRX’s daughter (she was already 15 here) because he was scared his father was going to be angry with him. When XRX asked why the father would be mad at him for giving him a cup of water to drink, XRX’s daughter explained that the water he gave his dad was from the toilet.)

Lu-something / the boy who took care of XRX’s daughter as his own younger sister when she went missing - this was also the same kid who gave XRX food to eat when she was unable to find a job after her divorce due to CL cutting off all her means of retreat and needed to eat since she was pregnant. He and XRX’s daughter both headed to an orphanage (managing to hitch a ride with CL without CL seeing and realizing that it was his own daughter) and the head of the orphanage made the girl believe that the boy was going to be adopted by another family and convinced her to be adopted by this other family. In reality, the boy refused to be adopted without this new younger sis of his and did all he could to find her again as well as being the reason for reuniting CL with his daughter.

He’s also really smart (he went up a couple of grades) and didn’t take it personally that he was given a small allowance compared to the other antagonist kid since it was just right for him to live on when he was away studying. He even continued to take on part-time jobs even after it was revealed that he was the son of the Lu family. He could also tell that the other antagonistic kid was up to no good from the beginning and was fiercely protective of XRX’s daughter. Oh, and after the whole kidnapping thing at the end, it was him who tortured the other guy—the kind of torture that guys never want to hear about.

He did knock up the girl he ended up with when she was only 19–but they were both willing and it was actually encouraged by XRX’s daughter as a plan she cooked up with her ‘grandmother’ (LXH/XRX’s non-blood-related mother) who wanted to have great-grandkids sooner.

Something I also couldn’t buy was how things weren’t revealed sooner just because these people didn’t bother / were somehow conveniently unable to say anything and make smarter decisions.

Spoiler: Examples

XRX knew that CL mistook XYX for her due to the amulet, but chose not to say anything simply because she assumed that he really fell for XYX herself and that there wouldn’t be any point and that she was conveniently stopped every single time she did try to say something.

XRX knew that CL and her own mom still hated her for XYX’s ‘death’ and yet she still went to them for help when she needed money for her daughter’s hospital bills. It’s already implied that she would do anything to save her daughter...so why didn’t she just go to CL’s parents / cousin / people who were more likely to help her directly?

XRX knew that CL didn’t know anything about his mom losing their daughter and also knew about the forged note that implied she ran off with her daughter, but didn’t say anything then just because he was part of her revenge.

XRX knew that CL was made to believe that XRX tried to kill his mom, but wasn’t able say anything at all about what really happened because she knew that CL wouldn’t believe her—but also because she didn’t bother to explain why she was having her revenge in the first place.

XRX also knew that the doctor’s then ex-wife left her to die after she(XRX as LXH) saved her, but didn’t say anything and instead chose to act like a villain so that the doctor would feel better about himself having betrayed her...all because she and her daughter owed him a lot from the past.

It’s just so frustratingly convenient how these misunderstandings just continued to pile up one after the other, don’t you think?

 

That’s a bit harsh. I don’t think a character deserves to be killed off just because he/she is too naive and gets taken advantage of easily. She is indeed, however, stupid for putting up with all of that...but I blame that on the author’s sadism.

It’s also well-established in the story that XRX had a warped sense of love from the beginning of the story. Her own mother purposely chose to dote on XYX and neglected XRX, making XRX give up a lot of things just to give into XYX. Her own mother didn’t love her, so it’s not entirely unreasonable for XRX to lack self-love.

And it was only CL’s childhood self who ever showed her real kindness back then so it’s somewhat understandable that such a simple act would leave such a huge impression on her and result in her falling in love with him.

She only ever really learned of real unconditional love when she had her daughter.

While, she didn’t forgive either her mother or CL for a really long time, she just wasn’t the vengeful type (except when it came to her daughter) and it’s said continuously throughout the story that there’s a fine line between love and hatred, so by choosing not to hate either of them, it also meant that she didn’t love either of them anymore.

In fact, I think she already forgave her mother earlier than CL but at the time, I guess it still felt impossible for her to try and get close with her again.

She knew about her lookalike pretending to be her in front of her mother, but she let her be cause she knew her mother needed a daughter and the lookalike wanted to live a life of luxury.

In a sense, she still wanted her mother to be happy—which is why she also signed XYX’s assets over to her.

Plus, the mother didn’t show up as often as CL did in the story so there weren’t really many interactions between them.

As for CL—I don’t think she could ever forgive what CL did to her, but she also can’t not acknowledge what he did do for her and her daughter and she also didn’t want to pass on her own personal grudges to her daughter. She was civil towards him later on because she does know that CL loves and cherishes their daughter like her, but still had no intention of getting back together with him just yet.

It’s only when they were getting much older (her daughter was around 6) and she started feeling lonelier that it was no longer about forgiveness but whether or not she wanted to continue living her life alone with her daughter and never again seeking another chance at her own happiness.

(I mean, it would still be more realistic for her to find love elsewhere, but the author purposely cut off that route by not introducing anymore decent male characters into her life)

It’s hard to explain with mere spoilers as the story is much longer and I’m unable to bring out the story to its entire depth (unless I were to translate the entire novel myself) in these posts, but it’s difficult to really judge the outcome of a story without knowing the entire story.

I too personally thought I was going to think the same way at the end of the story as I did in the beginning in that I don’t think she should ever get back together with CL, but in reality...after reading about all that crazy stuff that happened afterwards, I could only sigh at such an ending.

I still don’t like CL and I still don’t think he can ever redeem himself.

I’m just glad that XRX could finally get a happy ending after all that.

 

How many chapters that this book have?

 

I don't think I am harsh, characters that enjoy masochistic and victim syndrome never truly have a good ending, this book is just trashy and nothing can save it even if its a happy ending its not Worth the read.

 

We readers often have the tendency of blaming the other characters when all the fault lies in the main character itself. Here too, was the FL dumb or what? Did she not have a mouth to tell the ML about the past he shared with her? Why suffer in silence by holding back her tears and telling herself that she is strong (argh, I hate such characters) while her husband goes who*ing around and even more twisted side is that she still loved him? All the misfortunes that happened to her are what she brought upon herself. She has no one to blame.

 

But tbh, the characters, especially the ML didn't grow despite all things happened. He was duped by the villain yet still believe her. he uses his unnecessary emotions much more than his brain. He's so wishy washy and indecisive that complicate things.

The FL deserves sympathy but not respect due to her choices that lead to misunderstanding.

Tbh, all the characters are rather scums. The only mediocre charavters are father and Mother Lu

My opinion: The characters are mostly brain dead.

Actually YFY has painful encounters but even from the start it has romantic and caring scenes for all characters and there is like a little suffering then some retribution then again suffering ... like that ... the best point in her novel being the FL and ML dont hold any malice its misunderstanding they hurt but not intentionally it's mostly passive hurt one says one thing and take another meaning.. so I like her books but this book my god made me seriously depressed

 

..but Li Man wanted a child right then why was she feeding him things to be infertile I dont get it .. also if he was turning infertile then why was she looking forward to a baby .. split personality or something ??

 

Since the day she married the scum, he had a psychological problem. So, she bought that medicine to control his mental with side effect that made him infertile

 

The most terrible ML from novels that i've read in my life

I regret to read it. It destroys me mentally

 

For readers like me I recommend you only read up to 338 and assume that Gao Yi and XRX w/ Rainy(the daughter) lived happily ever after.

If we're talking about the best parts then it's definitely 305-338, it's the part were XRX, GY and Rainy are behaving like a real family (definitely a highlight and a really highpoint for fluff) . These parts were seriously my favorite, these were the parts where I jumped and screamed for joy. You could literally just think, "Ah, this is the happy ending that I want to read, they deserve this". My heart was tugging all the way for GYxXRX.

This is seriously a garbage novel, I just want to give a big fuck you to XRX and CL. I'm so upset asf.
Gao Yi despite having a situation where he hurt XRX , in my opinion, is still a better father and partner than CL. I'm upset that the author chose this direction, GY is still redeemable at least. CL is irredeemable, he's far from the state of being forgiven, he's a scum, he's not even human anymore, he's fucking garbage. XRX IS DUMB ASF, I admired her at first but ever since her heart started to tug again for CL then did I start to abhor her. I'M SO FUCKING ANNOYED. every character in this novel should just go to hell. IMO, the novel should've just stopped at smol Rainy and stayed with the ship GY and XRX with the ongoing plot being their struggles to be happy together and accepting each other wholeheartedly, GY had so much wasted character development as well as Rainy and XRX. Could've been a novel
about healing BUT NO IT HAD TO GO TO THIS TOXIC ROUTE

Also, the first love prevails thing makes no sense. WTF, CL is braindead asf and XRX as well. It makes no sense for XRX to love CL when CL LITERALLY TREATED XRX LIKE GARBAGE.
I'm fine with love trials but CL WENT WAY TOO FAR. Wth is this soulmate bs? What I mean is, GY treated XRX a thousand times better than CL could ever do. Damn amulet made me think this was fantasty. SCREW SOULMATES. AGAIN A BIG FVCK YOU to CL and everyone in this novel. Even big Rainy annoyed me so much

Anyways Shu Wei(?) the other person similar to FL had the ending that I wanted for GY and XRX so I'm just gonna assume that's also what happened to GY and XRX
