Discussion Possibly KR's most reoccuring trope.

Question. When was the last time you read a decent KR novel/manga where the mc WASN'T a necromancer or had a necromancer class/subclass?

Now name me one where money isn't a major plot point.

 

Well ark, legendary moonlight sculptor, tutorial is too hard ,master hunter k, they all arent necromancer, also trash of count family mc, but he has necromancer friend.

I think necromancy isnt korean novel trope. I think the trope of korean novel are somehow the author always make one long plot that the mc stuck in them almost forever. All of novels i mentioned above have this aspect.

Like weed with his guild war, lee ho jae stuck in floor 60, cale henituse stuck in war against arm. -__-

 

Or a somewhat rude-to-a-level MC.

 

A good few including 2 of my favorites which are EER and Dragon Poor(please someone tl this TwT). But money is a pretty basic plot point that is commonly found in KR and especially CN while the mc's class has a lot more to do with the story as a whole.

 

Weed is a necromancer until he dropped it recently to get the warrior of the sun class. But still, he still hav the necromancer skills

 

Really? I find the pacing in KR to often be the best of the three, especially when you constantly deal with CN authors chasing word count and JP isekai slice of life.

 

'Everyone Else is a Returnee' I don't remember MC being or related to necromancy in it

 

Name me a decent KR main heroine.

True, while they are usually special from a plot standpoint, in terms of character they tend to be really underplayed. Having hopes for Edora from Second life ranker atm tho.

 

Better yet, show me a Korean story that doesn't have revenge in it.

Pfft! That's not bad at all. Money is important, you know. Let's escalate it. Which popular korean novel/manga have you read recently that doesn't have cheating or cuckolding as part of the main plot?

 

The problem isnt with pacing, but with how many chapters the mc is still stuck in one same plot. I like characters solve many problems, move to different places/realms, reach his goal n create new goals. I really hate novels that has mc still stuck doing same thing or facing same enemies for 50 ch or more, n definitely will drop the novels.

This problem occurs to some chinese novels too, but probably because of word count, n not so extensive as in korean novel. But if japanese novels maybe the entire novel is only use for one single plot. -__-
