News Pacific Novels To Stop Work On Second Coming of Gluttony

    Looks like SCoG is definitely not being done by Pacific Novels. I do agree with Fudge's statement that an official translation of the novel will be coming soon, there's no doubt there. I don't know if I'm as confident as him that it will be coming before the end of 2019, but we'll see.

    I'm not terribly surprised by any of this, the entire situation had some dubious claims around it to start off with. It made no sense that Pacific Novels would be given a trial period like the one they described; never heard of a publisher allowing such an informal agreement, especially Breathe. For any of you readers who are still slightly confused, I'm basically saying that there's a 0% chance Pacific ever had the rights to this novel in any way whatsoever, formal or informal. As I said above, an official translation is definitely on the way seeing as the novel was doing so well in the English market for time it was up.

    I've been following this whole thing for awhile so if any new information comes up I'll post it in this thread. I felt that this news was big enough to warrant its own thread, seeing as a lot of readers were apparently expecting the novel to be back up soon.

    :blobpopcorn_cool: SCoA is becoming Kr's Hiatus X Hiatus at this point. It's one of the few novels I actively follow anymore so I hope it's back soon...under a good tl'er...without paywalls...or dubious activities by the group...

    Ah dammit i knew this was going to happen considering that pacific did not have any rights to the novel in the first place and they had gone to discuss with the publishers. Still it's a blessing that the translations will continue but i will be damned if the translations start back from chapter one:blob_catflip:

    They will likely be re-released. I can't say for certain whether the translation would be restarted, but it depends on what the KR publisher wants and what is agreed upon.

    Don't you mean NTR by translators and getting websites shutdown out of spite ?

    Look at Lezhin, they don't need to make money.
    They are basically government sponsored to spread the soft power of the country
