Did they rename Diablo Immortal? Kappa Jokes aside, honestly I would've been hyped for D4, if not for 2 things. How disappointing D3 was, completely braindead game, and the only thing it had on release was it's insane difficulty—which Blizz 'fixed' soon enough by making the game trivially easy and just endless difficulty levels to pump up the enemy stats Blizz has shown itself to be a greedy company with 0 morals that isn't afraid to completely ruin IPs. Just take the hong kong controversies and diablo fucking immortal... I still hope that D4 ends up being a great game and all, I just don't have any goodwill or expectations. Edit: After watching it: Trailer is hella good though
I'm actually hopeful since, when they remastered wow they didn't change much, and I think wc3 which is getting remake is also quite faithful to the original, so they might base d4 more on d2 than d3, they certainly did it with the art at least.
I played D3 when it first came out, lined up at midnight and all only to get screwed over by the hardest mode (back before they balanced it) and the real money auction house. Once bitten, twice shy, I stick with Path of Exile now
I got kind of bored with PoE, but agreed, still the best available online ARPG that was like Diablo. Although, I have been having a blast playing this game, and the online is okay, but not nearly as complete as PoE is. Solo and with a buddy it's the most fun I've had since Diablo 2 tho.
I grabbed grim dawn back during a steam sale, but I just couldn't get into it. For POE it does get boring, which is why I'll play it on and off. I'll usually jump in for a league or two before stopping. Over the last year I played quite a bit and really got good, but now that I'm in grad school I don't have time to play anymore. I think the best thing about POE are the different league mechanics it brings every few months rather than "expansions"
Blizzard was alway a bit better when it come up to computer films started with starcraft and diablo 2 they were a 2-3 years ahead befor others could do somthing near it. But today? The time frame how much better the films can get now is way smaller. So only gameplay is left. I do not buy products from them scince WC 3 TFT. It started with WOW with its subscription. No multiplayer offline in SC 2. Diablo 3 well it is a "better" Diablo 2 if we only speak about graphic. But as D2 it has the same problems like a real cash iteams in D2 it is more or less a bot or you just google a shop... in D3 Blizz do it themself i have no problem with it but i am not into playing pay to win. The competition is only not on skills or luck ingame but how much $ you spend. And all the remakes of SC,WC3 are for me signs that the CEO do not have new ideas...they only milking old fanboys.
If it's really good I might pirate it, I know for sure I'm not buying it though. They already get so much money from Winnie the Pooh, they don't need more from me.
Ya, that's fair. Since I like you can't play it every day, another nice thing about Grim Dawn was that I didn't need to play it every day to stay relevant with the leagues. I also recognize it's a free to play game, but I hate how every time I needed to expand my inventory or get better items I needed to spend real money. With Grim Dawn, It was a one-time payment expansion, that isn't even that expensive (especially considering it goes on sale a lot as well) and it was all in-game currency you just needed to grind for. I've put about 500 hours into PoE, so I can definitely say I like it, but I haven't played it in over a year. I still hop onto GD once a week to grind for legendaries and run dungeons. But at the end of the day, both are fun to play and that's most important.
0 goodwill a few expectations of decent goodness as a game. Though I have a feeling it will disappoint.
