I am craving ginseng soup like a pregnant woman!! I had some at my local buffet once and have loved it since!! But it is not on their menu for order to go!!!

    I want some ginseng soup.

Updated: I made an order through phone and as I thought the Asian guy said, he doesn’t know. But when I went in to pick up, he bought it up and said, they only make ginseng soup on Saturday!! Poor me. He teased me with his poor English and said, come Saturday or no more. Haha.

That is such an old Ginseng. It would be dried and rough. Baby ginseng less than 25 years would be soft and delicate.

Baby ginseng won't give you enough spirit juices, not enough to reach the apex.

I had tasted ginseng in soup before, it has this herb-y bitter to it. It was a baby ginseng.

And for the texture, it had a nice crunch

Like other have said it is slightly bitter, depending on how sensitive your taste buds are. Even when cooked, it is quite textured like rough turnip. Imagine a texture similar to boil potatoes. I wouldn’t suggest you eat it raw—too bitter. However, the ginseng bitterness does well with Thai chicken, and good and fresh chicken broth; and dices of what I thought are potatoes—yum, taste good. Right after I chew the ginseng, I would drink the broth.

Oh geezz—I bought it this Saturday and forgot that I could have taken a photo for you all.
