Discussion Would you date a cat lady

Say you're allergic to cats, you have known the lady for a month and are both interested in each other but nothing serious. Is it worth going out with her considering if it turns out you're good together you're gonna be living with cats. I heard some people adapt after a few months but it would still be a pain.

But if I have an allergy to them, depending on the severity and how/where she kept the cat, I may still date her.

Why not? Heck, I would date her just for the cats alone. I am calling dibs on the cats if we break up though.

Also, it's better for your cats if you keep them indoor.

Like why not. I have lactose intolerant. But still drink it 1 big carton per gulp even though it's a bad idea.
The minus point is worth it if you think at the bright side.

 

I expected engineered cat girls, got real life human female living with cats instead.

My disappointment is measurably faint, so yes, I would watch cats build generations of worshiping my statue.

Outdoor cats don't live as long as indoor cats.

 

I have this problem (including being potentially deadly due to asthma) minus the potential partner , but my rational is that at least there are allergy pills, and if you do end up getting serious and end up living together you hopefully can have the bedroom be an absolute cat free zone. While also being smart about putting a fresh sheet on the couch to keep away from the allergens while also cleaning regularly to keep that dander down.

 

Highly depends on how strong the allergy is:

Do I just have to take some (more) medicine and be (mostly) fine? Then I'd try it

Would I feel like hell despite the medicine? Sorry, but no.

 

I love cats even if I'm allergic so why not the same to the lady of the cats? Besides she's probably very cute so why not

My brother is allergic to cats but is with his gf anyway. They have two cats and his sinuses are always clogged, so he has to take allergy medication everyday. Last I recall, the medications stopped having much effect so it was pretty tough for him.

Let's be honest OP if its severe enough to be bad after an allergy pill, no. You could try to work it out I guess still by not meeting at your place but theirs?
