My first time doing this... This is a quick transmigration story I've been following for a while, and recently the main storyline finished; recent updates are now just some extras and post-scripts. I don't think I've seen another thread on it, so.

I like this MC for her down to earth tendencies, and how she corrupted her innocent system with her dirty mind. She also sorta "tops" ML in many worlds, including that one world where MC is crossdressing as a guy, and ML's friends assume that he's the uke in their "gay" relationship.

Also interesting is the golden finger provided by the system, which is done as sort of a random lotto system. Sometimes MC gets useless things like the ability to drive a car in an ancient imperial setting. Sometimes she gets consumable items, which she stockpiles for great effect as time goes on. Incidentally, the only way MC could consistently identify ML in earlier worlds is that he's immune to her system items, which sometimes causes great hilarity.

Title: 快穿系统:国民男神撩回家 (Quick Transmigration System: National Male Idol Tease Back Home)
    Author: 宫九格

MC / Main Character = Linghu Lan 令狐兰
ML / Male Lead = Mo Tang 墨棠

    Translated Summary:

[1v1 Explosive cute sweet pampering story]

Since ancient times deep emotion doesn't last, hearts always follow cliche paths, Linghu Lan was not only cuckolded by her BFF and her boyfriend, but also provoked into a heart attack, frustrated to death. This babe's heart is bitter, this babe's breaking down, at the crucial moment, a system made her strong, from then on starting a journey of hilarious plane travelling......Beating slags, tormenting white lotus, teasing with every quarrel; escaping obvious harassment, avoiding hidden tramps, first make a hundred million as minor goal.

System: "Let's interview, what kind of person are you?"
Linghu Lan: "I am a quiet beautiful girl who stands aloof from worldy affairs."
System: "......" Goodbye, this system doesn't recognize anyone like this.
Linghu Lan: "Little crawfish! Wait for me!"

MC and ML originally come from a slightly futuristic setting, with some advanced tech but no space travel or anything like that. MC was on the brink of death when she contracted with her system, and is working to gain points to return to life.

The system is from a secret agency that was started by ML, who had a natural-born affinity in peeking into other worlds, and capitalized on it to develop the system technology. The system looks for people with natural born special abilities, and contracts with them at the point of death (or artificially induced near death comas). In the process of testing and upgrading the system software, ML's system hit a bug, and began to uncontrollably transmigrate to world after world. The influx of many host memories was threatening to drive him mad, and so he was forced to turn off the connection to his system, thus every world thereafter he only have the host memories of that world.

Then along came MC, who has the natural ability of nullifying the abilities of others. So in her first world, ML suddenly stabilized and was able to remain in that world for the rest of their lifespans. Also because of this, ML subconscious gravitated to MC, and they ended up falling in love, travelling together in subsequent worlds, and getting their souls further entangled due to that one high level dual cultivation art.

Once MC gained enough points to return to life, the agency reviewed her system records, and realized that the guy following her through every world is not a bug or competitor, but actually their lost founder/boss. MC of course agrees to help rescue him. So they patched her system with a secondary function to try and bind to ML as well at the point of death each world. After a couple of worlds, the system successfully bound to ML, and was able to return him to the real world as well.

    1. 竹马有毒 (Childhood Sweetheart is Poison)
Girl from normal household gets dumped by childhood sweetheart for the school rich girl. MC ditches the false childhood sweetheart, and realizes the other kid who's been around her entire childhood (ML) is the one worth getting together with. Eventually gets revenge on the FP after a lot of bad luck, and some help from ML.

    2. 恶魔总裁 (Monstrous Company President)
MC is a poor university student with bad grades due to needing to make ends meet via her online shop. Her mission is to avoid becoming MP's fake girlfriend in provoking FP. ML is heir of a top fortune company whose pet dog adopts MC. They don't get together because MC wants to remain faithful; ML remained single while caring for her from afar.

    3. 绯闻天王 (Rumor Superstar)
MC is fat prodigy musician who goes through the arduous process of dieting. ML is a "playboy" actor/singer that flirts around a lot but doesn't sleep around, who takes MC under his wing. Rival FP is a self-righteous new actress that kills her own career. ML calls out the names of MC's previous two incarnations on his deathbed, and MC realizes he's transmigrating with her.

    4. 爆萌仙尊 (Explosively Cute Deity)
MC is a eureka-inducing rock spirit who seeks to avoid becoming a stepping stone on the MP's path to glory. ML is a cultivator that seeks to eliminate emotion and also has a natural talent in communing with non-human entities (usually plants, but also eventually rocks). After MC seduces ML, they level up to the upper planes and become a famous divine bandit couple. They try a dual cultivation art that kills them and causes side effects in future worlds...

    5. 最强帝皇 (Strongest Emperor)
MC is the abandoned wife of a merchant, and immediately uses her system points to reverse time to before marriage to avoid marrying a non-ML guy. She moves to the capital and sells wine spiked with system pills. ML is the emperor's younger brother who can only get it up with MC (result of that dual cultivation snag), and immediately marries her. MC's mission is to supress the transmigrated FP from destabilizing the nation, but she is like a cockroach who keeps popping back up with a new plan to gain power. The emperor dies and the 5th prince becomes new emperor, but he's immediately beset by war from a neighboring nation and rebellion from the 7th prince (with FP's help). ML gets ahead of all of them by rebelling successfully first with help from MC's huge merchant empire; they stabilize things and teach the demoted emperor (now crown prince) how to commerce, before handing the empire back and retiring down south.

    6. 首席帝少 (First Place Young Master)
MC was raised as a boy and uses "his" bratty reputation to fight for inheritance rights to the family business. ML is the visiting heir of a rich family from the capital, who suffers sexual identity crisis before finding out MC is actually a girl. MC avenges original host's death due to the original MP, a mob boss that's chased out of town by MC's helping the police clean up the city.

    7. 大神难养 (Idol is Hard to Raise)
MC gets revenge on the MP that would've ruined original host's life by getting hired at the same game company as his manager, and using her position to ruin his MMO romance. ML is the company president who is a really picky eater that makes MC (learn to) cook for him. They spread dog food everywhere online and offline.

    8. 末世奸商 (Apocalypse Profiteer)
MC uses her forknowledge of the apocalypse to hire hackers to bring the zombie virus to the attention of government/military agencies, giving the world prep time before the apocalypse starts, and for developing a cure. MC then escapes government detainment and meets ML, who's bound to a wild system hopping between worlds undergoing the apocalypse. They team up to steal gold bullion to convert to food items using his system. ML is ejected from the plane when the last zombie dies, and he has to fix the rest of the apocalypse worlds to get free of the wild system and return to MC.

    9. 上神威武 (Greater Deity is Mighty)
MC is a greater goddess nearing her 10000th reincarnations required to level up, which would've been spoiled by new deity couple (FP & MP) who incidentally kills her next 10 incarnations. To avoid that, MC finishes cultivating as a ghost, with help and protection from ML, a powerful deity living independently in the underworld. MC also breaks the FP/MP couple as revenge, and also uncovers an ancient conspiracy that was keeping the heavenly realm and underworld unbalanced. MC & ML retry the dual cultivation from arc 4, and get to the last step before making a mistake and dying again.

    10. 高能预警 (High Level Prediction)
MC is a 3rd-gen policewoman, who gets bullied on the team by the bigoted ex-military detective leader (MP), and she shows him up by abusing the good/bad luck charms from her system. FP is a white lotus forensics intern with a suspicious ghost-taking ability, that was actually a trap given to her by a ghost-controlling serial murderer, in order to lead the police astray from his actual activities. ML is daoist special consultant, who teams up with MC to catch the murderer. They also seem to be affected by a curse where whenever they try to do anything romantic, they run across a crime.

    11. 金主在上 (Patron Above)
Original host was supposed to be a top actress, but her roles were stolen and life ruined by a reborn FP. MC arrived after FP already solidified her place in the industry, so takes advantage of the background that original host did not -- she was adopted by another rich family who were good friends of her dead parents and cared for her a lot. Her "brother" from that family is ML, who's happy to help MC counterattack while they undergo a flash romance/marriage, then spread dog food everywhere.

    12. 千金之子 (Child of Thousand Gold)
Matriarchy setting. MC is the imperial regent overseeing a young emperor. FP is a prince that's rebelling for the throne with help from MP. MC abuses her various system charms of luck and lightning to repel the attack on the capital. ML is an acolyte with the imperial monastery who helps MC continue to put out various fires to stabilize the nation. They nearly don't get together this time, but at the moment of taking his vows, ML recalls his previous incarnations.

    13. 逃杀之主 (Lord of Escaping Kills)
MC is among a bunch of people mysteriously brought to an island and forced to participate in a murder survival game; she's the only participant with 0 kills. She wrecks artifact spawned by the island, forcing everyone to pass to the next "level". There, she meets ML, a guardian deity imprisoned in a stone statue, opposing the evil deity that built the "game" to leech mass sacrifices over centuries in order to break through and destroy the real world. MC helps wreck her plans, ML destroys her to protect MC, then follows MC back to the real world.

    14. 蟠龙圣婴 (Coiled Dragon Holy Infant)
MC is in an expedition to an tomb of an ancient kingdom. MP leading the team is a prodigy archaologist and tomb raider; FP is on the team as the descendant of a sacrificial maiden whose line was cursed for escaping her duties to the ancient empire. MC exacts revenge on the entire team who helped kill original host, and rescues the egg of the dead dragon that was enslaved and sealed in the tomb. ML hatches from the egg (it's a good thing he's been cultivating inside it for a thousand years, and so emerges at a stage capable of taking adult human form).

    15. 黑暗童话 (Dark Fairy Tale)
MC has to pass a "final exam" of sorts before reviving in her original world. This time there is no ML present, and also no storyline, or even host memories. She wakes in a forest next to the house of the seven dwarves, from which there's three paths. Eventually, MC figures out that one path leads into the past (and the story of the Little Mermaid), one leads to the present of the same kingdom (Snow White), and one to the future (Sleeping Beauty). MC is a split personality of the evil witch spanning all three stories. While changing her actions in one time frame doesn't affect the others, it turns out committing suicide at the temporal nexus of the dwarves hut will affect all three time frames, preventing the tragedy that occured in all of them.

    16. 限时追夫 (Limited Time Husband Pursuit)
MC revives in the real world, having been in a coma for three years. She finds out about the secret agency that developed the system which took over her care and hospital bills. They also find out from analysis of her system data that ML is the boss of the agency, who they've lost contact with due to a system bug. MC agrees to help retrieve him. While they're setting things up, she gets revenge on the ex-boyfriend and ex-friend that betrayed her, and puts her affairs in order with her family in preparation for another coma session.

    17. 王牌军婚 (Trump Card Military Marriage)
MC is country girl with an uncaring mother that values males and belittles females, whose trying to force her out of school and work as slave labor for the family. She gets the support of ML, who is a military commander that was passing by the town and caught attention of MC. With his help, MC is able to remain in middle school, then attend university, before then apply for military school in order to follow ML.

    18. 本宫很忙 (This Empress is Busy)
MC is an empress newly married to a boy emperor, that would've been killed by a conspiracy between MC's half-sister & an ambitious prince. MC prevents that from happening, while battling the controlling dowager empress who turns out to not be the emperor's biological mother (her dead son was secretly swapped with the son of the previous emperor's official empress).

    19. 调教日常 (Daily Instruction)
MC wakes in a male body in a world that seems to randomly reset to when "he" is commiting suicide with slit wrists in a bathtub. She repeatedly locates ML, who's also realizing there's something wrong with his memories and the world. Together they break out of the fake world and bring the various perpetrators to justice. ML has sexual identity issues again, having nearly slept with male!MC in the fake world, and now finds out she's a girl.

    20. 梦境逃脱 (Dreamscape Escape)
Modern cultivation setting where MC runs a shop that sells access to dreamscapes. ML is a master of a heavenly order who takes in MC as student. MC discovers she's the lost heir of Dream Isle, which was massacred by secretly evil MP for its resources and due to being rejected by her mother. MC exacts revenge, and eventually gets together with ML. They manage to fully complete the dual cultivation art from arc 4.

    21. 鬼气撩人 (Ghostly Teasing)
MC is an author who can call forth ghosts with unfinished business from underworld. ML is ghost king who follows her into the living world. FP obtained ghost-sight due to eye transplant from an exorcist, but mistakes MC for being evil ghost controller and tries to kill her. MC shows her all the ways she's wrong.

    22. 农女当家 (Country Girl Managing Household)
Original host is a soul returned to the wrong body by an incompetent psychopomp, and then framed by transmigrant modern soul that took MC's original body. MC arrives and poses as ghost boss, carrying out revenge and revealing the truth as needed. She meets ML, the unambitious 9th prince. MC prolongs the emperor's life so the crown prince who sees ML as a rival never comes to power.

    23. 女侠饶命 (Heroine Spare Me)
Wuxia setting where MC is the youngest disciple of a righteous sect and daughter of the sect master. Her eldest sect brother and the heir of demon sect both fall for her, but she's only got eyes for ML, who's a scholar she rescued that can't fight. But it turns out he's the heir of a secret sect and unknowingly steals all of MC's inner chi upon sex, and his dad doesn't approve of MC. Afterwards MC goes missing for 10 years (she's helping a neighboring country stabilize) and ML goes crazy searching for her. Eventually they get back together, and ML figures out how to give all the chi back.

    24. 末世主宰 (Apocalypse Dictator)
Semi-future imperial setting where the world is suddently forced into an zombie apocalypse slash murder survival game by an alien power. ML is only surviving imperial prince leading remaining loyal survivors willing to band together. MC helps him figure out the loopholes and defeat the gamemaster, reversing time (and most of the deaths) to pre-apocalypse.

    25. 血色暗夜 (Blood Colored Night)
MC & ML are both high ranking vampires. Opposing MC is a FP with sweet blood and reverse harem members that includes MC's ex-fiance, a rival vampire lord, a vampire hunter prodigy, and werewolf prince. MC exacts revenge for original host's death by turning these guys all against each other.

    26. 前缘再续 (Predestined Relationship Resumed)
MC's system successfully binds to ML and they both return to the real world. ML goes through a slow recovery process. They sort out various family issues, get married, have children, and live happily ever after.

There's two arcs that had gender identity issues. Arc 6 is the funnier one IMO.

    Reference:
MC = Xia Anhao / 夏安好
ML = Su Nai / 苏奈
FP = Mo Bei / 陌邶
MP = Bai Mofeng / 白墨枫

    Setting storyline:

The male protagonist is a mob boss controlling the biggest mob faction in Azure City. The "female protagonist" is actually a young man who self identifies as female (and hence I'll be using female pronouns), who was reborn.

In her first life, FP once rescued MP and fell in love with him, but had been tormented by her gender and sexual identity crisis that she never tried to reach out to him, and eventual got depression and committed suicide. Once reborn, she took her rebirth as a sign that she should pursue her true inner nature, and so started crossdressing as a woman, and became a famous online streamer. When she later cross paths with MP again, she started to pursue him, and after a lot of drama, explosions, etc., managed to bent him and they got together.

Great love story, except for the cannon fodder in their story, like the host that our MC is now replacing. Host's father was the president of a big company who fell in love with a lowly secretary and married her, then soon after marriage, he (suspiciously) died in a car accident. The Xia family is large and complicated, and was ready to kick host's mom out when she found that she was pregnant. With the wolves already nipping at the door, the mom is forced to create the lie that her child is a son. This lasted for 18 years, until host was a random bystander at a cafe where MP was attacked by a rival gang, and died when MP pushed her in the way of a bullet that was aimed for FP. Afterwards host's mom committed suicide out of grief.

The original host had two desires:

One was to destroy the gang that MP belong to. The other is to get revenge on all of the slag Xia family relatives and make her mom happy again.

    After MC arrives:

MC is still in her last year of high school, and just as she reaches her classroom and is greeted by sudden silence, remembers that the day before she arrived in the world, the original host had written a love confession to another male classmate. Of course, she did this while everyone thinks she's a guy so...

The guy in question bursts into the room, publicly calling her a gay in front of everyone, and then trying to punch her. MC picks up a nearby table with two fingers and blocks the hit (she has a permanent super strength bonus from a previous world), which redirects the class's attention from her being gay to her defy physics. She then accuses the guy of seeking attention by publicly calling her out instead of privately rejecting her, and they get in a fist fight, then get sent to the principal's office. Parents are brought in, and the other guy's parents threaten to sue. MC's mom defends MC and goes bring it on.

MC goes back to class where everyone is now treating her oddly. A bunch of BL-shippers express their support, and MC flirts back at them (for the lulz). She also becomes friends with her desk-mate (who seems to be a closet BL-shipper), before struggling with math.

Later, MC does some investigation on the current situation of the Xia Corporation, and the state of her inheritance. Then she starts a rumor online that Xia Co. is headed for bankruptcy. (MC maxed out the skill for advertisement, so she's pretty good at crafting headlines and grabbing mass attention.) She then gets in touch with a known whistle-blower journalist, and gives him a whole bunch of dirt on the Xia Co.

So just as Xia Co. announced they're not going bankrupt, they're just in the process of buying another company, the journalist posts online that Xia Co. is having problems, because they've just fired the widow of their previous executive, and she was just an ordinary file clerk, so if they can't afford a minor clerk...

Meanwhile, MC goes out shopping with her new friend (while cosplaying the role of the fashion-savvy gay BFF). On the road, a car passes them by. The ML, Su Nai is in this car, and his heartbeat suddenly goes into overdrive. He calls for the car to stop and jumps out, staring after the two people they just passed by, and realizes that the person causing this strange reaction is the boy... He goes back into the car and feels like he needs to have a breakdown now.

Back in the corporate war, Xia Co. attempts to divert attention from the news about firing MC's mom by leaking news to the tabloids about Lin Yang, the president of rival company being together with a famous movie star Liu Yan. They also try to buy off the journalist MC was working with, but MC reassures him that she can pull the public attention back to Xia Co. from their diversion. She does this by posting under Lin Yang's blog that she's the one who leaked his relationship to the press on behalf of Xia Co for besmirching their reputation (implicitly accusing him of spreading the previous bankruptcy rumors). And then she posts some flirting comments under Liu Yan's blog. She also posts a tweet to the journalist she's conspiring with, accusing him of being bought by Lin Yang to smear Xia Co.

This redirects the ire of a huge chunk of the fanbase that was about to riot from the newly revealed relationship, to instead turn their ire onto MC, and by association, Xia Co. Also, as it happens, Lin Yang is a good friend of ML, and when he demands an investigation of who's this brat that leaked his secret relationship to the press, ML realizes that this boy in question is the one giving him weird heart palpitations. It also gives him an excuse to launch his own investigation into MC.

Meanwhile, the journalist uses MC's "attack" at him to respond with some further incriminating evidence of Xia Co. committing stock fraud (or something like that...not sure of the technical jargon). MC adds more oil to the fire by going down the list of all the business that have had dealings with Xia Co. before, and tweeting insults at their company and/or their executives. Many of these companies and executives are on ML's watch list, so he sees this behavior right away and bursts out laughing in the middle of a board meeting. Then he realizes that he and his company are also on the list of those insulted, and goes a little dangerous looking. Finally, he's got an excuse to seek MC out.

Meanwhile, MC's account has been suspended, but it's already done its job. She steals her mom's phone just in time to record an incoming call from her uncle, crude remarks and death threats and all. Xia Co. tries to make her behavior into a scapegoat, but the journalist immediately responds with the evidence of how she and her mom had been treated by the Xia company so far,how MC's inheritance had somehow gone from the 40% of Xia's stock to just 10%, etc. MC then drives the final nail by creating a new account and posting up the phone call she recorded, accusing Xia Co. of using her and that she's gonna sue.

Public sympathy is with MC and her mom at this point, and a bunch of angry companies and executives are now poking at Xia Co., which will undoubtedly find more dirt even without MC's attention. So she lets her mom in on everything that she done so far, and tells her to get ready for a fight at court. Her mom gets all weepy about her little girl has grown up and everything.

The next morning, MC opens the door to a hot guy! Could this be her hubby? MC starts to pull a charm from her system to test out on him (ML is the only one immune to her system items). From ML's point of view, this boy is just randomly poking in the air like an idiot, and he moves back when she makes the motion of sticking something on him. He introduces himself -- the guy you insulted yesterday, and MC immediately apologizes awkwardly. They stare at each other some more.

ML demands that MC get in the car. MC balks at this. ML: What do you think I'm going to do to another guy? MC says she needs to go to school. ML reveals that he's an alumni of the same high school. MC teases him about being arrogant to think everyone knows that. ML grabs her by the collar and drags MC into the car... then takes her to school. After school, ML picks her up again, and takes her to a night club private room where a group of young men are gathered. This gentlemen's club of friends all happen to be on the list of people (and companies) that MC had insulted. Ahaha...awkward.

Of course, ML didn't bring MC here to get beat up, but rather as a signal to the others that he's taking MC under his wing. They can pick on her a little and insult her back, but don't go overboard with revenge. So they drag her out with them to play typical rich boy games, intending on showing poor MC who was never raised as a rich boy up. Unfortunately, MC has lived several life times rubbing elbows with the rich and famous, so she shows everyone else up at bowling, and golf, and etc... MC flirts with ML some more while ML keeps tell her to stop provoking him.

Eventually, the court day arrives. Actually both of MC's court cases landed on the same day. The morning is the court case with that boy she got in a fight with at school, then afternoon is the court case for inheritance rights to Xia Co. In the morning, MC sticks a bunch of good luck charms all over her mom and herself. As a result, the other family never showed up -- it turns out they had a huge argument with their lawyer about how to handle the case and then fired him at the last moment. So MC's side wins by default. During the wait though, MC spots definite romantic tension between her mom and and their lawyer. The the afternoon case rolls around, and they win handily. Afterwards, they find out on the news that the company chairman (MC's uncle) had been arrested on suspicions for the death of MC's father.

Having now regained control of Xia Co., MC goes online and starts posting apologies to all the people she insulted. By this point, everyone realized that this brat was being bratty for a sensible purpose, if in an insensible method, and it's not worth getting worked up about it. MC pays back the journalist she worked with, with an agreement to work together in the future if she has anything for him.

ML comes around again to ask about MC's plans, rebukes her for flirting with him some more (while seizing her by the collar and being nose-to-nose with her *cough*), and offers to help her with her purchase of a web streaming company that MC has her eyes on (having foreknowledge of the future and knowing the FP's protagonist aura). He also follows her to the dojo where she's taking martial arts classes and takes over her training, mostly as an excuse to pick on her by adding more exercises to her routines. And then picking on her some more by personally overseeing her homework and belittling her difficulties with them. MC decides she will get revenge by seducing him as her male disguise and make him doubt his orientation (honey, he's already halfway there...)

Anyway, now that MC is the boss of the streaming company that hosts FP, she's now able to launch her plans to break that pairing. She has the company announce FP as their main featured host, and then flirts around with FP, implying that she's chasing FP and want to make her her girlfriend. FP is conflicted because on the one hand, MC looks like a cute guy and is infamous for his fight for his inheritance, but on the other hand, she's not sure if MC knows she's biologically a guy or not, and on the third hand, she's still holding a torch for MP.

Unfortunately ML takes the wrong time to visit. He'd just had his actions thrown in his face by his friend, that he's lying to himself if how he treats MC is platonic. He finally worked up enough courage to admit that he wants to try out a gay relationship with MC, when he sees MC flirting and announcing FP as her girlfriend, and of course is outraged. He grabs MC by the collar and pushes him to the nearest wall, demanding to know if she's gay or straight. MC gives some platitude about she can be anything she wants to be (implying she's bi). He gets angrier and just leaves. MC is a little bewildered (because ML hasn't ever confessed or ever verbally indicated he was interested in her flirting so far so she can't tell how much is just his subconscious reacting).

ML and the gentlemen's club all leave the city to head back to the capital. MC decides to refocus her priorities on handling FP and MP. She sticks around FP with the excuse of trying to date her, and succeeds in being on the scene when they find MP injured and stumbling out of an alley. FP immediately suggest they should help him. MC is having none of that and immediately calls the police to pick up this shady looking character with gunshots. MP at this point hasn't fallen unconscious yet, hears this, and tries to get away before the police arrives. He uses FP as a hostage, and when he throws her at MC, FP instinctively yells with her natural voice, revealing that she's actually male. MP gets away, but MC is satisfied that she's spoiled their first meeting, and also made it harder for MP to fall for FP by revealing her as a crossdresser from the beginning.

FP at this point has a breakdown, and then she disappears (to find MP), leaving behind a note asking MC to take care of her cat. MC is stuck having to explain her company's star host is gone, while holding said host's cat, making everyone believe some dog blooded drama occurred and their slag boss scared FP away.

MC starts turning her targets on the mob. She hires investigators and also uses her storyline knowledge to dig up info on important places and people in MP's gang. Then she starts sending evidence to the police, while at the same time, sending mysterious messages to various competitor gangs, giving them a heads up so they can help pull down the biggest faction in town so they can climb higher.

ML, despite having left, still can't help but help out where he can. Giving the right push to the right civil officials to help facilitate the police actions against organized crime that's happening in Azure City. MC calls him to thank him, and also tells him to expect her at the capital for college once she graduates high school. She also accuses him of running away from her, and asks what he's afraid of all the times he blocked her from putting a charm on him.

Blah blah more conflict against organized crime. FP takes a bullet to protect MP, which gets him to think better of her, but he's still uncomfortable with her being a crossdresser. As things get more tense in the city, ML visits MC again. They go to the dojo and MC succeeds in throwing him to the ground. This time, ML lets her stick a charm on him. Nothing happens. Now certain this is her hubby, MC jumps him and they kiss.

Afterwards, both of them are pretty open about being in a relationship, which is hell on the employees at the streaming company and more evidence in their eyes of MC being a slag. MC brings ML home to meet her mom, who's so happy about MC meeting a nice young man. ML is a little confused at her response, and MC's mom realizes that he still thinks MC is a boy. MC pre-empts her giving things away by saying that if her mom vetos their relationship, then she gets to veto her mom's budding relationship with the lawyer guy.

Of course it doesn't take too long for their relationship to be outted online. And hordes of fans (of ML) are against their relationship, saying that MC isn't good enough for him. MC gets mad at this and announces that she's going to hold a live stream at a designated time, to prove to everyone that she is good enough. ML reblogs this announcement... and so all his friends reblog it... and attendance for the event both online and at the scene is huge.

MC starts off by mostly playing to the crowd, showing off various skills like golf, and shows of strength that has a lot of audience fearing that their idol (ML) is the bottom of this relationship. Somewhere in the middle they're interrupted by some party crashers sent by the mob, who were trying to investigate the mysterious backer that was coordinating the police against organized crime in the city (but I don't think they found out it was MC... they just got (un)lucky). MC easily disarms the one gunman (reinforcing the audience's belief that she's the top of this relationship), another is beaten up by a bunch of middle aged women from the audience, and the rest flee as the police arrive (and get a cameo advertisement from MC on the livestream).

The audience still refuses to say MC is good enough at this point, so MC asks what does she still lack. The joking answer comes that MC is not a girl (which is the answer she was fishing for). So she goes around to the dressing room and reverts her male disguise, puts on a dress and make up, and finally comes out as her true female self. She's pretty enough to dazzle the audience, and sends them into an uproar when she reveals that she's Xia Anhao. ML is also dazzled by her female guise, though he's also tormented about whether wishing that his "boyfriend" is actually a girl counts as mental cheating. Anyway, the stream was a huge success on all counts.

High School exit exams roll around. MC slaps a bunch of good luck charms on her desk-mate/BFF, which as it turned out helped the girl get top placement in the results. In the days after the exam, the police have almost completely cleaned up the organized crime in the city, and MC gets news that MP has managed to escape several police traps and flee the city altogether.

MC is also attacked at home by a would-be assassin, who she immediately disarms and beats up before calling the police. This also gives her an excuse to tell ML to help her find a new safer place to move to. Somewhere that's convenient for him to come and go *nudgenudgewinkwink*. She also sends plane tickets for her mom and that lawyer hubby out on a vacation for a while, so they can be safe, and out of the way *winkwink*.

ML takes MC to his place and they plan to finally get it on. ML is still pondering the question of who's topping when MC undresses, and finally reveals she's actually a girl. ML demands to know she lied to him, and MC says it's revenge for forcing her to do homework, and then their conversation starts to take a dirty turn... ML reveals that it's his first time (note he's 28 to MC's 18) and MC wonders if he can't get it up with other women (like his previous incarnation), which he protests, and then...

    "No! Not there!"
"This position isn't good, let's change it!"
"Come on, adjust the angle a bit!"
    ML: "Xia Anhao!"
"What? Your technique isn't good, but can't be critiqued?"
ML: I'm going to 'pa' you until you take that back.

Anyway, MC gets news from the police that the assassin that attacked her was because the livestream had made her a symbolic target for the mob. MC asks the police for a protection detail, which they hem and haw about. ML takes the more direct route of hiring some bodyguards.

MC also gets news that FP has been brought to a hospital on gunshot wound. She took another shot for MP while he was fleeing the city, but got left behind. MP has realized by this point that FP has feelings for him, but he's not in a position right now to consider romance at all, and felt it better to leave her behind where she'll be safe (since she doesn't actually have a criminal record or anything.)

MC spends the rest of summer buying up 11% of Xia Co. stock to make her the primary shareholder, then goes with ML to the capital where she's applied for university. She kicks her uncle's son out of the company HQ at the capital, and he's also arrested at the same time for hiring for murder. When she and ML return home, they're then attacked by the assassin that her cousin hired, which actually turns out to be MP, who flees from the police/bodyguards when his attack fails.

MC continues her attack on organized crime, and eventually learns that MP was caught by a police raid in a cafe. By coincidence, FP was at the same cafe and offered to be his hostage, and then blocked a third bullet for him. However, MP had run out of luck at that point and was killed by a police sniper. FP however, was still lucky enough to survive a third gunshot. She's depressed over MP's death, but MC feels sorry for her, and provokes her out of her funk by asking her what she really thinks she was reborn for.

Meanwhile, MC gets tired of college having been through the same general curriculum at least twice already, so she drops out of university and turns her attention to Xia Co. completely. ML is meh whatever about it. Once MC turns 20 (the legal age of marriage in China, I think?), get married in a big wedding. MC chooses to dress up in a white tuxedo, but also wears a bridal veil. But at great popular demand, reverts to female guise and a dress for the reception.

The next day, there are bigots online who complain about it and bemoaning declining morals of the country or whatever. MC posts up photos of their marriage certificate, including where it says MC is female. Then everyone thinks she had a sex change operation done in order to have a legal marriage. Finally, MC announces that she was actually born a girl, but was raised as a boy because of typical rich family dog blood drama...you all know the story.

It's only at this point that ML's gentlemen's club friends realize that MC and ML has been playing them this whole time, making them think that ML is the bottom in a gay relationship. They all rush over to find demand an explanation, but get told that the couple has already left the country for their honeymoon.

As MC and ML leave for their honeymoon, FP returns to China at the same airport. She had actually gone out to get a sex change operation done, and now resumes her streaming career at MC's company, and starts a "new life" as a girl.

In the end, MC did not end up staying in this world for a long time. Before they'd even hit middle age, she and ML encountered an airplane accident. While MC could have put good luck charms on herself and possibly survive it, those charms don't work on ML. So instead she put a bunch of charms on the baby in the seat next to hers, and then curled up in her husband's lap to wait for the end. ML at this point could guess what was going on, and silently accepted her sacrifice to go with him.

In the end, the baby miraculously survived the crash, but the two legends of the business community both died. MC's mom was devastated by her daughter's death. MC had also made sure to have airtight legal documents drawn up leaving all of her property to her mom if anything happens to her. And she also has a new husband and was pregnant with a new baby on the way, and so had something to live on for.

Just realized I got the arc number wrong on the previous entry. That should be arc 6. Arc 5 is Strongest Emperor, and is one of my favorite arcs in this story. So I'm going to cover that one next...

    MC = Wen Qing 温晴
    ML = Mu Xingzhi 慕醒之
Original FP = Gu Wan 顾绾 (later renamed Gu Yanyan 顾言言)
Actual FP = Gu Wan'er 顾婉儿

    Setting Backstory:

The female protagonist is a college girl from a modern setting that transmigrated back in time to the Great Jing dynasty, into a servant girl that fell into a pond and drowned. She tried to curry favor with the 5th prince, who she knew according to history was going to be the next emperor, but he rejected her. In anger, she then plotted together with the 7th prince, successfully pushing him onto the throne.

Of course the path to glory is paved in blood. MC's original host was the favored concubine of the merchant who owned the servant girl that became FP. FP masterminded a bunch of misunderstandings between the merchant and MC's original host, causing the host to be neglected by the merchant and killed by other servants. FP then came out and "revealed" the truth, playing on her master's emotions to raise her up from servant status.

    Original host's desires are:

Not to be anyone's concubine this time around, if possible not have to rely on men. But since FP looked down on her for relying on a man, she also wants FP to taste what it feels like to only be able to depend on men.

    After MC Arrives:

MC arrives into the host already 2 months pregnant and being mistreated by servants. She immediately goes NopeNopeNope, and spends most of her saved points to use the Time Traversal Device from the system. She's taken further back to when the host was not yet married, and living in a poor household with her older brother and his wife.

MC announces they should move to the capital (to make money, to find her hubby...), and her brother agrees to moving the entire family there without much prompting (he's a cool bro).

On the way, they drop by (pre? ex? husband) merchant's house, where MC sells some system brand beauty products to his official wife, both to get some starting capital and so the wife can keep a leash on her man. (MC's brother and sister-in-law are all like: "She has a shadow. Not a ghost." "I touched her face. Not a doppelganger." "Our sister?" "Our sister!" and our poor MC is like: "I can hear youuuuuu!" *killing aura*) The merchant's wife also becomes MC's friend, later gifting her with a servant girl who turns out to be the original host of the female protagonist (hence OFP).

MC opens a winery, selling peach blossom wine mixed with dissolved system pills of various types, making it very sought after by the nobility. MC's goal (aside from making money) is to find the person who *doesn't* respond to her miracle wine, because that is most likely her hubby. But after a while, after a major festival where her wine was served at the imperial feast, she starts getting frustrated.

MC keeps a close eye on OFP to prevent her drowning incident that let FP transmigrate in, which in turn makes OFP get the wrong impression (ie. taking her clothes off and going "Lady, I'm yours" to MC). MC is almost nearly bent because of course someone who would've become the FP has a very...fulsome body under her clothes and full of charisma when trying to seduce someone. *cough* At the appointed time, OFP...trips and hits her head on a table corner. MC immediately feeds her a bunch of recuperative system pills (which ends up giving her eternal youth -_-), and OFP wakes up still as herself.

(Also over this time, MC manages to get two skills out of the system lottery: Photography and Car-driving. Ahaha. You can see how her luck usually goes.)

Unfortunately, it's not so easy to get rid of FP. While MC is out having lunch, she hears rumors that the young miss of a noble house recently fell into to the water. Her name? Gu Wan'er. Ahahaha. MC has the strong suspicion that FP has entered the stage.

As MC leaves the restaurant, she passes by the just arrived Prince Chu (ML). He immediately stops, because for the first time in his life, his em...lower bit...had a reaction. MC also has a reaction with her heartbeat going out of control, but she attributes it to the fact that she just spotted the new FP. The next thing she knows, she's grabbed by ML, who demands to know what witchcraft she has cast on him. MC's immediate response is to cry harassment while slapping a lightning charm on him. But when nothing happens, her attitude takes an immediate 180 turn and she quietly follows him to a private room.

ML is the current emperor's baby brother by the same mother, born after the previous emperor died. So he's only slightly older than some of his princely nephews, and is well favored by the emperor. MC had previously discounted him from her list because he's known to have 100 beauties in his inner court. ML is forced to reveal to her that he...can't get it up (until now), and those women are just a cover-up provided by the emperor to preserve his "reputation". MC agrees to marry him after hearing that. Soon afterwards, the imperial edict comes down to announce their marriage (because the emperor is also a cool bro).

Coincidentally, another imperial marriage edict had been announced for current FP and the 8th prince. But, since the FP is very ambitious and the 8th prince is a no-name figure in history, she rejected it. When the emperor calls her in to explain herself, she hands him a pamphlet on reform (probably copied from some other historical document). The emperor however is not impressed. He's observed her behavior and someone who's willing to risk her entire family's lives over ambition is not someone worth listening to. (The emperor is a shrewd cookie.) However does withdraw the marriage edict (because she's not good enough for his son).

MC's cinderella marriage to ML proceeds with only a few hiccups, quickly resolved by ML (who's impatient to finally have sex). Afterwards, ML dotes on MC and gets all jealous of the "very loyal" OFP servant girl and the attention MC spends spying on FP's activities. MC usually solves his bouts of jealous with some exercise in bed.

MC abuses her new authority to expand her businesses to other areas, forms an alliance with the merchant mogul who was FP's greatest rival in the original timeline, and specifically targets any attempt FP makes at entering commerce.

Thus, her plan B being a no-go, FP's next plan is to butter up to the 5th prince (the historical next emperor). Of course, MC is one step ahead of her there, having sent a secret mysterious missive to the 5th prince reading: "Let me tell you a ghost story, Gu Wan'er has set her sights on you." This causes him to ignore FP's attempt to ally with him. (He's a very cautious guy and disdainful of underhanded dealings.)

Like in the original timeline, FP responds to the rebuke by targeting the 7th prince instead. MC gets ahead of her again with a secret missive to the 7th prince, reading: "Let me tell you a ghost story, Gu Wan'er has set her sights on you. Let me tell you another ghost story, she targeted your 5th brother first." That's enough to make 7th prince ignore FP as well; he's a very suspicious person.

The Gu family had given up on FP at this point and start arranging a marriage for her half sister. Out of spite, FP tries to arrange a cliche spiking with aphrodisiac and arranging to catch her sister in bed with some lowborn plot. It fails, and the emperor further pre-empts her by handing down another edict marrying the concubine's daughter to the 8th prince, an obvious belated face slap directed at FP.

There's a period of relative calm, that's broken during the feast in honor of the ambassadors of the neighboring country of Xianyu. During the feast, the prince from Xianyu asks for the hand of the emperor's favored daughter, Princess Jiahe, but then he points to FP as the princess. The entire feast goes silent, because, well...awkward. FP comes forward and replies acting as if she's the princess (she had met him before, flirted with him, and lied about who she is). FP is betting that the emperor's need to save face will prevent him from outing her lie.

MC doesn't want to let FP get away from her reach, but couldn't stop it. Once in Xianyu, FP strings along the eldest prince while flirting with the other princes as well, while starting to build up a merchant empire there, and occasionally hiring the assassin to go after MC. MC also starts to aggressively expand out to all the neighboring countries.

MC also uses her commercial empire to start a rumor about how FP is a favored of heaven and the one who obtains FP can obtain the world. Then, the emperor sends MC and ML as ambassadors to Xianyu, and they offer FP's hand in marriage to the emperor of Xianyu. At this point, the princess of Xianyu loses her patience. She drugs FP and invites all of her brothers (one at a time) to sleep with her, and then invites all of the visiting ambassador princes as well. Whoever ends up with FP is going to be wearing 8 green hats.

A while later, the emperor of Xianyu passes and there's a fight among the princes . The eldest prince wins, and then declares war on one country, and then another, before dying on the battlefield. The remaining princes start infighting , before the princess crushes all of them, becoming the queen of Xianyu.

In the meantime, the Jing emperor also passes, and the 5th prince succeeds him just as in history. The new emperor is very anti-mercantile, affecting MC's business. During the turmoil in Xianyu, FP had escaped, and got picked up by MC's merchants. MC hires her (without letting FP know she's the boss) because she's confident in the protagonist aura. Sure enough, FP comes up with the idea of basic bank and loan services, which loopholes around the laws and starts making MC money again.

A year later, the queen of Xianyu comes asking for the hand of the real princess Jiahe (now renamed Princess Mijia) for political marriage. The emperor thinks she's kidding because they're both women, but no, she's serious (and lesbian, apparently). Mijia on the other hand is conflicted... and MC ends up passing letters between the two ladies via her merchants. The emperor learns of this and isn't happy, and gifts two women to ML's house, which causes MC to kick him from the bed for a few days. Xianyu queen declares war on Jing after her suit is rejected.

At the same time, FP had hooked up with the 7th prince, and convinced him this was a great time to raise a rebellion to claim the throne. They get the backing of a lot of people that were affected by the anti-commerce laws the new emperor passed.

But before he could get going, the ML preempts him with surprise rebellion first. With all the soldiers sent away from the capital, and with MC's money financing him, ML easily seizes power. MC wasn't even aware he was planning this, and just wakes up to find herself the empress. (ML: There, now you don't have to be jealous of Mijia having someone declare war for her.)

Anyway, ML (on behalf of MC) immediate reverts all the anti-merchant laws, which cuts down on the excuses the 7th prince used to declare rebellion. MC further bribes the people under 7th prince's banner. She also freezes FP's accounts which dries up their funding, which makes 7th prince think FP betrayed him. Their rebellion ends quickly, and both 7th prince and FP are captured as 'traitors'. Afterwards, 7th prince is put in house arrest the rest of his life, and FP thrown in as his only companion.

They also accompany Mijia to meet with the queen of Xianyu face to face. The queen smooches her to show her how serious she is about her demand for marriage. Mijia finally agrees to the union, which ends the war between their countries. MC of course ensures Mijia an astronomical dowry.

For the next ten years, MC and ML play at running a country. Actually, most of the paperwork is tossed to the newly titled crown prince, which is the demoted former emperor. This is confusing to the court since it's the first case in history that a coup ended with an emperor being "demoted" rather than killed/imprisoned.

Court officials: The empress has no children. Your majesty has a duty to have heirs.
ML: I've already named an heir. Where does your suggestion place the crown prince?
    Ex-emperor/ex-5th prince/current crown prince: Hmph!
    Court officials: ..... *closes mouths*

During this time, MC also takes enjoyment of inviting scholars (and the crown prince) to "debate" on the merits of commerce. By which I mean she starts brainwashing young court officials and the crown prince on the joys of commerce. And other modern ideas. After 10 years of prosperous reign, ML and MC retire down south, sending back a succession edict giving the crown prince back his empire.

Eventually, ML dies first of old age. MC sends a note to the emperor via her merchants. When he arrives, she demands an emperor's burial for hubby, and forces his hand by having her merchant empire already spread the word of ML's death. MC lies in a second coffin next to hubby's in the imperial tomb and ingests poison to follow him. OFP hands the emperor a box left by MC. In it is a treasure map and a note that reads: "Prosperity, the people's hardship; ruin, the people's hardship; may you use this little bit of wealth for good".

Then, as the tomb door closes, OFP throws herself in at the last minute. A thousand years later, a group of archaeologists uncover the tomb of a historically controversial emperor and empress. Inside, they find a strange young girl...OFP wakes up to a whole new world (which is TBC in the extra chapters after the main plot).

This sounds nice. Especially the dynamic between the MC and ML might be interesting and unusual and I'm digging it. I'll put this on my list to read, haha...:blobsmilehappy:

The extra chapters are still ongoing. Going to wait until I'm sure it's complete before I read them.

Anyway. Next up is Arc 8, which I think is probably one of the most moving arcs, both in terms of MC/ML's relationship and also of their impact on the setting.

    MC = Lin Que 林鹊
    ML = Lu Li 陆离
    FP = Jiang Qiao 江乔
    MP = Ji Nuo 季诺

    Setting Backstory:

It's a cliche story of a strong female and male protagonist coming together in the zombie apocalypse to defend their territory until a cure is produced. Except...

Original host was an unpowered girl who was among the refugee group led by FP. She was framed for hoarding a chocolate bar by FP's friend, and for that FP kicked her into a zombie horde. Then she also left host's father behind to the zombies when he protested.

Even later on when FP and her friend turned into enemies, and she found that original host was innocent, FP did not feel guilty about her actions, only angry at being tricked.

    Original host's desire:

At the time of her death, original host was already in the process of awakening a power. Her desire is to avoid death and survive to when the cure comes out. Also, she wants FP to have a taste of unjust death by zombies.

    After MC Arrives:

MC arrives at the time when the meteor that brought the zombie virus to Earth just landed. There is about a month of incubation time before the zombies start appearing.

Her home city isn't safe, so MC calls up her dad and tells her she needs to travel with him to Qi City, which is the location of a military base that will form the basis of a safe zone in the future. To avoid having to explain herself, she just tells her dad: "I've bought the plane tickets. Here's the time. I'll be going to suffer the consequences for murder. Remember to bring your bank card cuz we'll need to spend money!"

Note: Her dad is one of the richest businessmen of the city, so she needs to take advantage of that before money becomes useless. He also remarried after the death of MC's mom. MC's relationship with her stepmother and half-sister isn't great, but they're not a big consideration to her plans.

MC is something of a troublemaker, so her dad actually thinks she might have killed someone (lol), and he immediately liquidates some assets before joining her for the flight. Of course when they get to Qi City, MC tells him she lied. She then tells him about the upcoming apocalypse. As proof, she uses the super strength she got from the system, plus some charms, and also pretends to have precognition. Her dad is convinced and they start preparing.

MC contacts various existing doomsday cults, gives them an info packet, and gets them to spam wherever they can. Then she starts hiring hackers around the world, paying lots of money to break into government and military networks...to pass on info packets about the apocalypse. People are skeptical, but there's enough info for the more paranoid to do some checking. Lo and behold, scientists are able to confirm the alien virus after being pointed in the right direction. The government tries to shut down the spread of information to the public, but more and more hackers are being hired break through the censorship. So they give up and officially confirm its existence.

There is a mad dash all around the world to prepare - quarantine procedures, evacuation routes, setting up safe zones, reinforcing critical infrastructure... also a mad scramble by doctors everywhere to start on a cure while the best labs are still working and staffed.

At d-day, MC's stepmother falls ill (she's fated to become a zombie). At that time, the military arrives at their door looking for MC. MC agrees to go with them in return for letting her stepmom enter one of the official labs researching a cure as one of the test subjects.

At the military base, MC is put under the charge of MP, and it's clear he's trying to get more infomation out of her. MC hands him her bill for hiring all the hackers, and gives him the verbal runaround. (MP: "Miss Lin, do you have something against me?" MC: "Yes!" ML: "Why? This is the first time we met." MC: "Perhaps in a previous life, your wife killed me.") Eventually she gives the military some info on the leveling up of powers and zombies. She then later hears news that a genius researcher from a neighboring country, in order to avoid becoming a zombie, turned himself into a zombie king instead.

After a week of house arrest, MC awakens with metal control abilities (she mentally calls herself Magneto). For the next few days she practices and pranks MP with nails through his chair during meetings. MP soon suspects her of having powers and test her, and MC takes the opportunity to break out. She has full control of all guns and bullets, and takes MP with her as hostage. (She needs to find FP to finish her mission after all, and what better way to find her than using MP's natural attraction?)

Outside the city, MC makes MP get out and refill the gas. As soon as he gets out, a person appears in the sky out of nowhere and lands on top of him (this is ML, btw). (MC: "This protagonist luck...") Unfortunately, introductions are cut short by incoming zombies. MC crashes their way out of the horde. ML teases her about her driving (it's a running gag since arc 1).

ML reveals that he came from a space-time rift. He can pass between parallel worlds, but only worlds that are undergoing the zombie apocalypse. He also claims to have no memories of before he started this plane-hopping. When stopping to eat, he then reveals he can exchange money (precious metals or currency) for food.

They arrive at the city where MC guesses FP should be. She kicks MP off. Then takes ML to the nearest bank, where they rob it empty to charge his ability. Then she returns to where she left MP, and lo and behold, he was rescued by FP's refugee train. They start fighting, MC against the whole team, and she's winning. FP grabs ML (who can't fight) and threatens him. MC sticks a lightning charm on her (the system charms are invisible to everyone else) and an anti-lightning charm on ML. But when they're both electrocuted, she realizes this guy is ML, and immediately rescues him, and declares herself his girlfriend.

MP gets jealous at this point and attacks seriously. MC retrieves a gold bullion she kept from the bank and uses it to kick his butt. Then she grabs the smoking pile that is FP, throws her into the car, drives off, sticks a bunch of bad luck charms on her, and dumps her off in the wilderness. The bad luck immediately attacts a huge zombie horde.

As they drive off into the sunset, ML has suspicions about MC's sudden change in behavior toward him. MC is upfront about her system charms and how they've met in several lifetimes. ML raises the question: But if I keep hopping between apocalyptic worlds, will we still meet in the next life? MC doesn't have an answer.

From then on, our lovebirds start going from city to city. First breaking into all the banks to power up ML's system. Then they break into the food warehouses to fill it up with bulk food and supplies. Plus, a note saying that they're taking all the money as payment for goods rendered.

Eventually, they reach the capital, where they hear news that the zombies have been evolving faster than powered humans. They're also now able to use scavenged high tech weapons. MP shows up and finds MC. (MP: "I have something you want to see." MC: "No--" MP: "If I'm not guessing incorrectly, it's a report from my wife in the last life." MC: "!!!") He also reveals that FP probably became some kind of hybrid zombie queen type...thing. (MC: *raises all the middle fingers to protagonist luck*) They're both thinking FP is the origin of the coordinated zombie attacks.

At this point, the military has found MC and is planning on ambushing her. MC immediately takes MP hostage again (via controlling his belt buckle to threaten his...manly bits). They get out of the city and go looking for FP (with MP's protagonist aura to guide them). They eventually get attacked by zombies using mortar shells and other military weaponry.

But FP is busy elsewhere, attacking the capital, in a tank. With her is the researcher who had turned himself into a zombie king right at the start of the apocalypse. Apparently he'd entered the country and found FP right when she got bitten. Meanwhile, MC's group is attacked by FP...except no, another one shows up, they're actually some kind of body-double/clone. They stop at the next base for MP to heal up.

While they're idling, the cure for the zombie virus is quietly completed. And the next time FP seiges a city, the zombie horde is met by launched canisters of green gas, which instantly destroys all zombies. All over the world, humanity starts to eliminate zombie-kind.

MC still has to consider her mission, and she knows FP is not easy to kill. She's forced to leave ML behind at the base since he can't fight. Then she and MP go to the zombie main base. They fight. MC poisons FP with the cure, then tosses her to the freed experiment zombies in the base to be torn apart. They burn down the base.

Meanwhile, back at the base, ML gets an update from his system, telling him he's completed the mission for this plane, and then he gets forcibly ejected from it. There's not even enough time to say goodbye. MC feels him leaving, comes back to an empty room.

MC returns to the Qi City base and settles down to wait for ML, while rejecting MP's advances. She finds out her stepmother ultimately didn't survive. Her stepsister who kinda hated MC, has found a boyfriend, and they make up by her wedding. She also finds the girl who framed original host and gets revenge on her.

She also adopts an orphaned kid named An Ke'er (安可儿) with the power to permanently disable other people powers. As the kid grows up, MP often drops by to help as part of his plan to woo MC...which backfires as the kid falls for him and publically confesses on her 15th birthday party. MC saw this coming from miles away and fully supports the idea of MP having to call her "mom", while MP runs away. The kid later follows him to the capital (for college), and wins the support of MP's dad (who's been after him to get married for a long time), and eventually manages to catch MP in matrimony. They quickly build a family, living happily ever after.

Time goes on and MC is an old woman when one day, suddenly, ML appears in her room. He's still the same youthful age as she last saw him, and he calls her by her true name. In all this time, he worked hard to get each world that his system had access to past the apocalypse. Only then, did his wild system let him choose the world to spend the rest of his life. And also at that time, he remembered his previous lives with MC.

They spend the little remaining time MC had together. After she passes away, ML also takes poison to leave with her.

On hearing this, MP is very moved, and makes a request to the government that quickly gets approved. Soon, headlines telling an unbelievable story begins to appear in the news.

"Lin Que: The Woman who Raised the Alarm for Humanity"
"You Don't Remember Them: But You Have Experienced Their Kindness"
"Lu Li: Not Only Loving Your Youth, But Also Your Wrinkles"
    ..etc.

Lots of people still remember those days where the food bandits allowed them to survive. MC and ML become written into history. They're buried in a public memorial.

After all the drama of earlier arcs, Arc 11 is almost pure fluffy dog food.

    MC = Wei Ran 唯染
    ML = Shi Nie 时聂
    FP = Su Rao 苏娆
    MP = Yu Anqiao 喻安桥

    Setting Backstory:

The female protagonist of the story used to be an actress that looked pretty but had no acting skills, and thus had a hard time becoming popular. She was offered a role as body double for an actress that did become popular, but was told she needed to sleep with the director to get it. She didn't want to do so, but her little sister drugged her and forced her hand. This actually happened many times, ruining her life, and FP eventually lost hope and committed suicide.

She was then reborn, and used her foreknowledge to grab the roles that would become popular. She was able to chase down the boss of the media company that she had fallen in love with her last life, get revenge on her sister, and win at life.

As for MC's original host, she was the actress that FP was offered the body double role originally. The two of them looked similar, so many of the roles that FP stole in the second time around were original host's. But that's not enough, FP used the original host to set up her little sister. While she got revenge on her sister, the innocent original host got her life ruined.

Original hosts's desires are to make a comeback in the entertainment biz, and punish FP for causing her death.

    After MC arrives:

MC arrives when the FP had already become popular, and was about to get her first award. MC plans to start her comeback, but to do so she needs money. So she makes a call to her adopted brother, who's the boss of a big company.

(So it turns out original host was taken in by a family that was close friends with her dead parents. Because she was 15 when her parents died, her personality was already set, and original host was resistant to accept her new family into her heart, even though they treated her like their own. MC however is of course going to hug the golden thigh.)

MC asks her brother (who, spoilers, is ML) if she can borrow ten million ("...or 5 mil? 1 mil?"). ML considers for a while and then gives her 10 mil, shocking his secretary (who starts imagining an unmentionable relationship between this brother and sister pair... you're very prescient, miss secretary!)

MC does a whole makeover, clothes, blingbling, and all. She shows up at the ceremony completely overshadowing FP, especially since they look similar and MC used her foreknowledge to make sure their clothes look similar at first glance (but hers cost way more at closer look). She gets the focus of media attention, and other attention...

Sure enough, MC gets an offer to interview a role that she knows will become hot. She immediately rushes to the airport. Also coincidentally, her plane seat is next to ML, who's travelling for a business meeting. He reacts to her, and MC immediately recognizes him (they've leveled up their dual cultivation in a prior world, so she doesn't need to test him with her system charms to verify anymore). So of course MC immediately goes into hubby chasing mode.

MC: "I have a business offer for you, are you interested?"
    ML: "What business?"
    MC: "Marriage! Interested?"
    ML: "O_O......"
MC's agent: *spit-take* WTF who is this?!
ML's secretary: *squee!* Just like a romance novel! *starry eyes*

ML gets super embarrassed. MC finds his reaction super cute. ML retrieves his intelligence from the gutter and asks her if this is to pay back the 10 million. MC's agent is more WTF 10 million don't seek death kill me now. MC presses hubby about marriage. ML's body is totally all for it, but intellectually he's still finding it weird that he was still thinking of her like a sister before this meeting, so he just says he'll think about it. MC is fine with that, she knows it's just a matter of time.

They get off the plane and split up. MC ignores the outburst from her agent. At the hotel she checks online to see that FP's fans have been hating on her all over the net, accusing the media photos of the award ceremony comparing the two of them to be photoshop. MC goes pfft I'll show you photoshop and puts up photoshopped pics of her in the airport with various additions (like a panda on her luggage and stuff), and it's done so well (she has maxed skill in photoshop from the system) that the online discussion gets taken off to a tangent.

MC and FP are both at the auditions, and of course there's the standard passive cattiness and stuff. They're both aiming for the secondary female lead, but since MC's acting skills are so good that the director gives her the female lead (FP still gets secondary lead). Well, actually it's because the female lead has to play both a young woman and an old crone, and MC has actual experience in *being* an old crone.

At the hotel, she briefly talks to ML on the phone, and keeps redirecting the conversation into the gutter. ML gets a nosebleed (lol). Then MC goes online again, where FP's fans are hating on her again. To refute them, MC goes out and buys a bunch of makeup, and then puts up photos of herself dolled up as...several famous male actors. MC: "Those who say I got plastic surgery, you must not have seen my makeup skills."

The post becomes popular, eventually getting reblogged to the attention of those male stars, who also admired MC's skillz at turning into their female twin. Many of them reblogged it, causing MC to come to the attention of their massive fan base.

Next morning ML comes to pick MC up for the flight back (her agent gets to make her own way). MC flirts some more. ML comes to a decision. By which he means they immediately go pick up her residence booklet, and get their civil marriage filed. (MC's agent: He actually really married you???)

Of course they gotta let ML's parents know, so they drop by home. MC's foster parents are ecstatic that she's now willing to call them "mom" and "dad" (for different reasons than they think lol). Then at bedtime they're shocked then the two lovebirds go into the same room. (Mom: "You beast!" ML: "Legal beast!" *tosses marriage certificate*)

Even though she got her secondary lead role, FP still acts against MC by putting up photos of her with a guy (ML) and accusing her of engaging in flesh transactions to borrow money. MC lets the hate simmer online for a day, and then puts up photos of her marriage certificate with the label "Legal flesh transaction, certified by the government."

ML also helps out by leaking news of MC's originally well hidden history, basically that MC's father and grandfather were both nationally acclaimed architects, and that MC's & ML's parents were good friends, they grew up together so it's not a flash marriage (except it totally is), etc. Basically whitewashes MC's reputation.

MC goes off to film her new series. ML flies over with her "for business reasons!" (yeah right). During shooting, MC whispers to FP about her being reborn, causing FP to become scared and unable to act properly. FP tells the director either she leaves or MC leaves, and she would be taking the investor funds that came with her with her. MC however immediately offers the director a business deal with ML to replace those funds, and ML readily gives her carte blanche. The director was already annoyed with FP, and so kicks her from the show.

FP goes back to her patron, the boss guy she loves (MP). However, at this point, he's only at the point where he likes her a lot, and far from ready to give up his playboy ways. So FP instead finds him half-drunk and being brought home by another pretty girl. When he wakes up, she asks him to help her ruin MC.

He has a male star that's on the same show turn up tabloid news about doing kissing scenes with MC. ML's response to that is to just buy a media company of his own and giving it to MC, pushing dog food to the top of the tabloid news. The side effect is MC gets a huge batch of brand new fans of ML, constantly demanding that her to put up pics of hubby on her blog.

FP tries to get another actress with the group to act against MC. But she goes a little overboard with her hinting, and the actress realizes that FP is not someone she wants to be friends with anymore.

Meanwhile, FP's sister has been released from jail and is out to leech money from FP. FP offers her money to ruin MC. MC easily beats up the sister and the two hoodlums she hired to kidnap her, then forces them to take her to the designated spot. FP of course reneges on the agreement, and had hired another bunch of thugs to kill her sister and MC. MC lets the sister get away (to further get revenge on FP), and then beats up the new group of thugs. Then she calls the police to take them all away.

Police: Why did you let yourself get taken?
MC: To add evidence! Being charged with attempted kidnapping is a much lighter punishment than actual kidnapping.

FP again throws all the blame onto her sister when the police comes calling, and her sister goes on the run.

Meanwhile, MC's new series has finished shooting, plus awesome commercial ads for ML's company, and immediately becomes popular once it hits the screens, even more so than in the original timeline. A TV series that FP was in also came out around the same time, but it gets completely overshadowed, and doesn't do well nearly as well as it did in the original timeline.

FP spits blood at the ratings, then splits blood again at the news of MP and his new flame. She throws herself into work, planning to invest in a script of her own that she knows will become popular. But then she gets sued for plagiarism. MC had been waiting to trap her on this, having published a bunch of popular stuff from the original timeline under the media company ML gave her.

Then FP tries to sell songs that were written by future artists, but again she's immediately sued for plagiarism. (MC had organized a creator's conference, inviting a lot of would be artists, and then subliminally exposing them to their own future works. Thus caused those artists to publish their best works ahead of the original timeline.)

The two lawsuits eats up FP's savings to pay the fines, and blackens her reputation. The business she had contracts with all start cancelling them, the fans turn against her, her career in show biz is kaput. MP sees the huge losses she incurred, they argue, and he cancels her contract with his media company (though he didn't make her pay her owned damages fees).

In contrast, MC has been doing better and better in her career. She gets a role in a foreign film as a Chun-Li type fighter girl. It goes hot, and her place at the top of show biz is secured.

Meanwhile, FP falls afoul of her sister again (now looking different due to plastic surgery), who again drugs her and sends her onto the bed of a ugly rich guy. She also hears on the news that MP is now marrying his new flame (due to pregnancy). Her sister laughs at her.

Then the rich guy's wife crashes the party. Recognizing this scene from the original timeline, FP grabs the rich guy's wife's bag and finds the can of acid in it, and then splashes at everyone else. She gets put away by the police, and ends up on the news one last time.

MP sees the news on the eve of his wedding, but after hearing that FP has a lawyer already, eventually decides to let of his feelings for her. MC however finds out that FP's lawyer was bribed to not do his job, and after some consideration, replaces him with her own lawyer, who's able to get her the minimum sentence. FP finally realizes where she'd gone wrong, for taking the easy road over the backs of others in her bid to fame, and targeting the wrong people for her revenge.

Anyway, after MC gets her film empress award, she leaves the entertainment circle. But she still gets bugged by her fans to put up photos of ML. So she shares the pictures of her hubby, from young stud to handsome grandpa (the better to show off her photography skills from the system), all the way to the end of their lives.

Doesn't it get boring? It sounds like the story where I won't be able to develop some attachment to characters as there are so many arcs and they die lots of times too.

Is there a link for this story in Novel Updates? I can’t seem to find it
