Recommendations What Should I Binge? (old anime)

Baccano - Every character has an independent soul (1st 2 episodes are boring just to note but it ramps up quickly)

Your question is very vague and so is your criteria for "old". I could have followed the rest of posts just recc'ing old and really old anime but i couldnt be bothered.

 

Slayers and all the sequels, movies, and OVAs.

 

E's otherwise , Tokyo Underground, Flame of Recca, Yu Yu Hakusho, The Law of Ueki, Air Gear, getbackers,Tenjou Tenge.

 

What do you mean by “independent souls”?

 

Tentai Senshi Sunred is a story about a former Red Ranger from a disbanded team who is now an unemployed moocher living off his adult girlfriend who constantly smokes and has anger problems alongside a bad attitude trying to live in society while a suprisingly nice world conquering organization tries to kill him all the time and fails all while they also live in society and have jobs and everything.

Suprisingly heavy on dialogue and a funny show that goes for a more low-key comedy sometimes, besides, you get stuff like a wolf monster that turns into another wolf monster in a full moon!


Though Sunred doesn't really find that cool, who cares, to me it's a great show that i always want to recommend to people.

 

Their own happiness is the standard for action.

 

Not really old, but Tonari No Seki-Kun isn't the most well known series and i utterly love it, it's amazing despite having an amazingly simple premise.

That is, boy doesn't want to pay attention in class, he is in the last row behind the tallest student, so he decides to bring games or stuff from home and spends the class doing random shit with an active sense of imagination as the girl next to him gets annoyed but ultimately can't avert her eyes from what he is doing.

And...well, the two kids have such a great and funny imagination that i find myself not getting bored at all, it's also a good family show since none of the female characters have ridiculous bodies and there is no fanservice, i swear, Seki must be the teenage boy with the least perverted but still active imagination ever, he would rather pretend Shogi pieces are generals and soldiers locked in an epic war than think of women.

Even the opening is just the kid screwing around and the girl watching:

So yeah, suprisingly fun, charming, fun and great for everyone and actually creative, i heartily recommend Tonari No Seki-Kun to anyone.

 

You can watch Michiko & Hatchin. I haven't finished it but I'm well over half way through it. its also from 2008 but I dont know how old is old.
