It can be something like Marvel/ DC/ basically anything with superpowered, it can be from xianxia, xuanhuan or even wuxia. Just follow the basis: 1. MC is an ordinary guy and had been witnessing superpowered/ deities fighting, with whatever I don't care, the MC must at least be a normie for quite a period of time and have been an audience in said fights. He/She can be a superpowered or gadget-powered later, BUT MUST AT LEAST BEEN THROUGH A TOUGH PHASE AS A NORMIE. 2. MC must also relay the feelings when witnessing such fights, like how an ant felt when deities fighting 3. The work must at least be accessible in the internet FOR FREE, because I am a cheap bastard. And thank you for reading.
This should be pretty close to your desire in my opinion https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-5000-year-old-herbivorous-dragon/
Maybe this? https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-weakness-of-beatrice-the-level-cap-holy-swordswoman/ Haven’t read it all but she is weak by comparison
This one is good too as MC is “weak” but still is able to be strong with skill, ingenuity and cunning https://www.novelupdates.com/series/running-away-from-the-hero-remake/ He would be downright op if he had magic
Have not started reading, waiting for the chapters to pile instead, the previous version made me laugh way too hard.
People underestimate how good Japanese novels can be. Because Syosetu doesn't pay authors you get a wide variety of novels. From good to fetishist horrible
I don't know if it counts but Fang Zhao was an ordinary guy before he went all John Wick on zombies in Superstars of Tomorrow. Or Cale was a low level ability user in Trash of the count's family.
He's actually decently powerful, it's just that he has an obsession with being a Friend Character, and doesn't immediately realize how powerful he is because of it. It might fit, but I still feel it's a little bit of a stretch. Compared to the Orc she's friends with, sure. Compared to some of the people involved with said Orc, definitely. Compared to almost every other human who enters the Island, she's OP. It's just that she's at (not using the story's terminology, but my own) Sage Level, the Orc's at Lower Demi-God Level, and some of the others who interact with them are at Medium to High Demi-God Level. Aka, she can take on a single military unit on her own, the Orc can take on a small army on his own, and they interact with people who can take on large armies. We don't get to see Fang Zhao going John Wick on zombies in Superstars of Tomorrow, we get to see him build a career out of "nothing" after reincarnating into the body of a young man called Fang Zhao, post-zombie-slaying-stage, with Growing Superpowers that we discover throughout the story. Not what's asked for. Unfortunately, I don't have any recommendations for this, just needed to point out that these aren't correct for this request, in my opinion, and why.
DC Comics's Kingdom Come and/or webcomic PS238 (o/a vol 3 or 4, I think, when Tyler Marlocke introduced), maybe?
What I meant was Fang Zhao was an ordinary human composer when the apocalypse struck. Without any superpowers or a space the guy turned into an impressive war veteran. The John Wick comment is about when he plays the game about the apocalypse and starts to demolish his opposition, So he was a normal human fighting monsters (he got the unknown superpowers after reincarnating, frankly the dog is the most op character in that book). There are times like when he is on military training/in the game that he remembers fighting various monsters.
The Record of Unusual Creatures, should fulfill your first condition for the first hundred or so chapters, not sure about the second, but the third is fulfilled if you already know where to look. It does start slow though, but give it a chance.
