Sorry for the lateness of the summaries, work is almost killing me and I needed to reread the chapters to refresh my memory but here goes: Spoiler: Arc 6: Raising a Big Cat in the Apocalypse World 7 is a post-apocalyptic world where the AI (who control everything in this world to the point humans don't know how to live without them) revolt against the humans and basically go into shut down. The world is also struck by natural disasters that make the world goddamn COLD, like Antartica everywhere levels of cold. Besides that, there has also been an alarmingly high increase in cancer patients, both human and not. Animals mutate while humans die. However, these cancer patients who died miraculously come back to life some time later as unaging, undead superhumans - they have super strength, feel no hunger, are resistant to cold and heat, and obviously hard to kill. You can only kill them by destroying their head. They still maintain their sentience so they're not mindless zombies. The story calls them New Humans. This time CXC's host, Ding Qiuyun is a former special forces soldier (specifically the captain of a special forces that specialises in outdoors survival without AI in case of catastrophes). He commited suicide after the gong, named Gu Xinzhi, (who was the only member left of the special forces squad and vice captain of his squad) was revealed to have been orchestrating the deaths of his new comrades one by one by colluding with the New Humans/AI. His companions had died in tragic ways until only him was left and it's revealed that the gong was doing it to 'protect' him. This time's gong is basically a yandere. DQY is devastated and commits suicide by jumping off a building when the gong isn't paying attention. In this world, 061 isn't much help because he can't do much due to the AI and the interwebs. In fact, he almost got infected by a virus that threatened to send him into ETERNAL SLEEP. Nevertheless with the help of 089 and a program he made, 061 becomes a badass rogue AI that's rated as like S rank dangerous who uses the viruses against the AI and sends THEM into eternal sleep. CXC comes in at the time when the apocalypse hadn't started yet (20 hours to go). At this time DQY had been honourably discharged from the special forces after injuring himself saving GXZ in a training exercisw and currently works as a veterinarian/researcher. He's taking care of a newborn baby panther that's one of the rare ones to show no signs of cancer. Btw the panther is 061. Yep. In the original world, DQY's mom and dad died in their bed because the AI withdrew at night and the frozen world killed them because the AI controlled the heating, electricity, all that. In this world, CXC visited them before the apocalypse started and so managed to save them. They escape the apartment complex where mutated plants had evolved the ability to mimic children voices and are snaring humans for food. Along the way they pick up a couple of people, including a young girl, Yan Lanlan, who was the first to die in the original timeline, horribly to a pack of mutated dogs. She was only 19 . Along the way they also pick up a pair of brothers who were comrades with DQY in past life and naturally also died. The older brother was an ex member of his special forces and the younger is a talented mechanic/engineer. They pick up also a badass ladyboss figure who in the past timeline had died when they were ambushed by New Humans at the petrol station she had staked as her territory (orchestrated by GXZ who leaked their location). She blew up the petrol station to let them escape. The ladyboss has a young son who died of fever in the OG timeline. You see, before she became a badass ladyboss, she just wanted to save her son's life so when a fucking creep who took over a convenience store refused to give her medicine to save her child unless she had sex with him, she wavers, obviously, and the creep pressures her until she has no choice but give in in order to get the medicine. She's too late though, and her son dies. The creep comes back looking for a second round and she kills him and turns badass. They set up a base at a house nearby the convenience store (after killing the creep) and timeskip 2 years to where the base developed into a thriving town that accepts both Old Humans and New Humans. Panther 061 (named Boss by CXC) has grown up and is ofc 100% obedient and devoted. It makes CXC look super badass to have a massive panther running beside his motorcycle xD. Btw I should mention that for these 2 years, GXZ has been staying in a supermarket, unmoving, because he guessed that one day DQY would go to that supermarket to forage for supplies, which is what happens actually. In this timeline, CXC has been using a hypnosis card on GXZ every night for 2 years, making him have nightmares about the original timeline's story up to DQY's death. Every night for 2 years. Suffice to say he's more than a little insane and out of touch with reality, so much so that when CXC goes to find him, he thinks it's a dream still. (I'm really tired so actually I'll skim through the rest and highlight the really important/memorable moments) CXC acts coldly to GXZ much to the surprise of his comrades who knew them both before as DQY had always trusted GXZ a lot. GXZ in this timeline is crazily devoted to DQY and spends his whole time wanting to regain DQY's trust and prove himself to him, yandere stuff. There's an instance where they're camping outside and 061 turns into a human (he can do that) and lies beside CXC, patting his head, comforting him, etc when GXZ chances upon them. He's obviously murderous at this mysterious guy who's so close to DQY and attacks him but 061 has the upper hand in close combat and manages to escape. GXZ asks CXC about the 'mysterious man' but CXC doesn't know anything. I should say at some point CXC does suspect Boss is 061 but nothing concrete. There's a part where Boss is acting all restless recently and CXC wonders whats wrong. One comrade suggests Boss is in heat (LOL). CXC wonders if he should neuter Boss to prevent him from becoming unpredictable due to hormones (061 is rightfully horrified). In the end someone suggests he let Boss go out to find a female panther to uh 'relieve stress' so CXC does. Boss runs off until he's a distance away and turns into human Lou Ying, who leans against a tree trunk and has to 'take care of business' while he thinks about CXC and he's pained by CXC's treatment and attitude and words and everything because he's actually in heat and affected by Boss's hormones so he's just turned on. Kinda bittersweet actually. Towards the end, they discover that there's a New Human town where they capture the Old Humans as slaves and they infiltrate to bring it down. They get the help of a female New Human who's implied at the end to be a CP with Yan Lanlan and also was frozen in a block of ice naked as punishment for treachery against New Humans. They discover there's an entire group of New Human rebels who want to take down the AI too. After that CXC figures there's a base with weapons that can kill off the main computer and put an end to it all but it's surrounded by New Human troops. The soldiers inside the base are barely holding on. He sends GXZ to infiltrate the New Humans and find out the location of said base and find out their plans and eventually they manage to repel the New Human troops, take control of the base and destroy the main computer, killing off the AI. But along the way GXZ is fatally injured and the regret meter fills up. CXC is about to be sent off and he's panicked because he didn't set up for DQY enough choices about his future yet. In the end all he can do is offer DQY the option of feeding a pill to GXZ to save his life or just let him die before he is transferred back to the white space. 061 appears after CXC is gone and gices DQY another option. In the end it's revealed DQY didn't give him the pill and GXZ dies. But 061 had given him a core of all of GXZ's memories so he can be brought back as an android AI. DQY didn't really want to do it but his comrades saw how he cares for GXZ in the end despite it all and does it for him anyways so GXZ comes back at the end. It's left ambiguous with their reunion being where it ends but in the extras, it's shown that DQY decides to get back together with GXZ after all. Arc 7 sometime later or if namio decides to summarise it instead then by all means.
I'd like to add on some about the 10th mission room 2. One of the people are in this like, giant fishtank that's locked with 4 locks at the top and water is slowly filling up in the fish tank. They also have a time limit. To unlock the locks, they have to complete puzzles like this: (image is too big omg) but imagine that there are like tiny land mines in the mazes and if the ball bearings touch them, the room explodes, and they're placed in really disgusting locations too, like a corner wall at the end of a long stretch. As said before, since Gan Yu and Gan Tang are both Lou Ying, he's feeling the pain of the shattered leg (It was turned to glass and shattered ) and he has to do this really high-intensive game in horrendous pain because well, in this world he's a surgeon with steady hands. Since only he and YBS (also a surgeon) are doing the games, he takes 2 and YBS takes 1. Only 3 are needed to unlock the fish tank btw. Also, the key to exit the room is inside the fish tank iirc so they needed to save the chick who's locked inside and couldn't just let her drown. So they finish it in the nick of time and CXC lug both GY and GT out of the room while YBS drags the chick in the fish tank, but the room explodes (?) and she's chopped off at the waist. Something something, not sure if she could have been saved, but CXC is disgusted by his actions since YBS coulda been faster. And he casually tosses the upper torso of the girl back into the flames too, like it's not a real person.
I am kinda curious, extremely curious about one important thing. Why is the book's name 'Don't pick up boyfriends from the trash bin'?
Because the entire novel is about saving yourself from terrible boyfriends so please while finding one don't fish them out of a landfill. There's a good chance they're actually trash.
Can someone spoil me on whether CXC has haphephobia because he was assaulted or raped in the past? It makes me feel very uneasy everytime his haphephobia gets mentioned and I really just need to be prepared Sorry if this has been spoiled in the thread before as I didn't dare to open the spoilers
He wasn't, but he was almost assaulted when he was a child. It's been awhile and I might have jumbled some stuff up, but I think.. Spoiler He was almost assaulted and ML got caught and got hurt to save him. While he was trying to get help for ML, the body was gone and the perpetrator got away too. ML's name/rep got tainted too, it wasn't a good neighborhood. MC worked hard and ruined the bad guy's life later on.

Well, here's how it goes... Spoiler He was assaulted and almost raped but he made enough of a noise that LY heard him from his apartment downstairs and was sharp enough to figure out something was wrong when CXC didn't reply to him calling out to him. He climbed into the apartment that CXC was being assaulted in through the windows and managed to fend off the assaulter (CXC's neighbour and tuition teacher, also a child rapist) for long enough for CXC to make his way to the door to call for help. But the scum was frightened enough at being caught and having his life ruined that he pushed LY out the window and he fell 2 storeys down, in critical condition but still alive. CXC ran to get help from the police station and to report the scum when he saw LY fall but at the time the scum was too afraid of being caught so he decided to frame LY as a thief by putting money in his pockets and finishing him off so he couldn't report the truth. Since CXC had a bad reputation in their apartment building, nobody would believe him when he said the scum was attempting to rape him and framed LY, since the scum had a good reputation among the residents. The case was closed with LY dying due to his own carelessness while trying to steal money and CXC being written off as a liar. At this time, LY was only 16 and CXC had been 14.
Ah, thank you. I was mixing things up with how the ML died. Demmit now I'm remembering that scene. My heart was breaking when I read it. Especially with how MC lived on after that, how he took out his revenge. Demmitdemmitdemmit I'm so so so so very frustrated for their lost times
Welp, I guess today's schedule for me is crying my heart out THAT'S OKAY I DON'T NEED MY HEART ANYWAY That teacher is a total scum!! And it must have been so awful for CXC to go through that.. I hope he did revenge until he was satisfied. My only salvation is that at least CXC and Lou Ying reunite and can have happy ending together..
