How does novel update work?

I am thinking of making a site which function is like novel update but it has nothing to do with novel update. First it's not copycat It has nothing to do with novel update so please don't say it's copycat.

So I am lonely wolf I wanna make a website which functions is like novel update, manga update but I don't know how to make it so please help me how site work when people update chapter on their site does it automatically update on novel updates and if it did then how? I don't know about coding I will make it on WordPress.

You can't make anything anywhere close to NU with WordPress.

I've been wondering about the same thing. Since I've been playing around recently with the idea of translating jp novels just for fun and it would be quite sad if no one was able to findmy work. Maybe people can send an email to add their translations into their site since I think it would be quite messy if there is something that automatically searches and adds stuff with a certain amount of word count with the only thing in the search parameters unless they've got ai that could distinguish cooking recipe and tutorials for novels

NU is quite of monster, full of RSS and (I suspect) quite an amount of parsing.
Even hosting and supporting this site is quite difficult and costly endeavor.
For somebody without technical knowledge to make NU or manga aggregator site... Well, it's not like it is impossible to learn, but ammount of time required to reach almost perfection of Novel Updates will be gigantic. And it's not like people will even be interested in such a site if it's not just localized version, until it become considerable better than original.
