I first found this book on dummy translations website. Then searched for it in NU. But didn't find any spoiler thread. This is my attempt at reading bl but want to know is it worth my time. Or should I just stay content with just FOD from this genre?

They are all the reviews of first arc. To the point with the translator with I have already read.

I tried. But it fried my brain cells instead.

 

just skimming it... i did it too on some novels with slow progress translation to turned off my curiosity

 

From what I gathered in the reviews, these are the arcs so far:

Arc 1 : rabies ( no real illness but it’s because his attitude is like a rabid dog )

Arc 2: autistic

Arc 3: mentally handicapped

Arc 4: asthma

Arc 5: mysophobia

and there’s an arc with heart disease but I’m not sure which arc that one is.

All the arcs are said to be in modern times...

 

Arc 1: (original storyline)

Yan Qi was the child who’s bright and sunny but everything changed when his mother died.

His father (Yan YongAn) brought a step-mom (Yuan WenYu) into the house and his other illegitimate children, one which was even a few days older than Yan Qi.

Yan Qi’s mom left everything to him but he’s unable to get his inheritance until he turns 20.

Yan Qi’s step mom gave him something (?) that constantly makes his temper irritable but he doesn’t know that. When when the step-mom secretly discovers that Yan Qi is gay, she hires a person to lead Yan Qi astray and sign away his inheritance.

That person (Chang Nian) later dumps him and gets money from the step-mom. Yan Qi’s father kicks him out of the house and Yan Qi tries to do what he can to take everything back but fails because he has nothing. At age 30, he ends up dying sad and alone.

 

It is not on par with FOD. FOD can be enjoyed multiple times, this one is a 1 time snack.

 

If you like Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil you can try reading Who Touched My Tail ! and Don’t Pick Up Boyfriends from the Trash Bin.

 

I want to know what happens when he leaves... does the original person come back? how does it affect the relationships he made? I just finished first arc..

Arc 6: phobia - namely claustrophobia, erythrophobia and loud sounds? (mtl said resounding sounds)
Arc 7: heart disease
Arc 8: Anxiety disorder - OCD, insomia, etc.
Arc 9: leukemia (?): cured via operation so I'm not really sure if it's leukemia but that's what it says
Arc 10: Paranoia

it's good but not as good as FOD to me. Even though it says ı have sickness most of the time it doesn't change anything especially arcs he has mental illness after a while he can control it then will heal the body most of the time he just imitates the original host's symptoms. I remember that there wasn't too much drama or hurdles in the path of MC it's a quick read and HE and having illnesses makes it (how to say) interesting and there is a part towards the end of story that tells the story from ML 's point of view not that much detailed though

It's not as good as FOD but definitely readable. It just gets a bit boring in the later arcs and the main theme is repeated like MC dealing with his family / ori body's crush. The same applies in the real world. There's short arc by arc summary here

If you want a QT book which is on par with FOD then I suggest I have a secret
(mystery solving, not all arc are HE but real world is HE), How to die as heavy as mt tai (again first few arcs are BE but definitely worth it), Don't pick up boyfriends from the trashbin (the scum bfs (not ML) are taught a lesson by MC + after MC leaves original owner regains control of body. The relationship between MC & ML is 10/10. One of the best MCs ever.)

 

Well i liked this because they’re able to recognize each other at point blank so there’s no need to do all the chasing stuff as it goes down to what the Mc needs to do.. I was just a bit bothered on how the MC wasn’t very affected with his ailment in the last arc.. he completely changes his character in a snap, unlike the previous arc where he gets uncontrollable due to his sickness.. but I’m happy all in all.. just miffed that ml wasn’t as inexperienced as i thought he was it was only mentioned in the passing.. since i usually like the mc and ml being inexperienced and clean as a jade ... this is also the reason why I don’t like FOD too much since ml needed to cont his lineage in some arc but when the mc’s of other novel need this they just need to find a suitable heir from someone’s family... (sorry for the rant)
