Without mention the sexist options you can have: Diplomatic- most queen would be master diplomats so you can use a letter/message Alliance - most royal marriage was a alliance between noble family so you can use a ring
Lots of european queen carry around that short scepter while some carry a fan, maybe both to symbolize power and grace?
What about a 'harp'? There are lots of stories about queens (and noble women) and harps, it can be said that a harp is a symbol of a queen
Maybe a hand mirror. I choose a mirror because when I think of a queen. I see the flip side of a king. While the king stands forward in war. The queen holds the kingdom. A coin would symbolize the same, but I see that as a finance minister. And a mirror has a feminine annotations to it. Also with a mirror you have subtle references to intrigue, politics and assassinations. You see the proud and noble queen, but as you stare into the mirror you see the smile that everything was within her plans since the beginning.
So a board game with a king, queen, rook, knights, bishops and peasants? Sorry I can't imagine such a board game existing :/ Hint: A crown but unlike kings crown its a more open crown.
There isn't any right one exactly Others have been given tokens according to their responsibility or trade. And uggh * cough* the queen isn't expected to have any really, except maybe be a symbol of beauty and regal elegance. All else depends on individual queens so you can't put a universal token. But just for the sake of choosing, I'd go for a flower, maybe a bloomed gold lotus, or a gold rose, that will best convey the feminism.
If this was a Chinese based game I’d say give the queen a ruyi scepter (no pun intended) because that’s literally how the emperor in the Qing Dynasty chose his consort. It’s also uniquely shaped to stand out. Otherwise some sort of queenly flower (I always think roses because of card games and that “Queen of the Roses” title); peony if it’s ancient China again, or a sparkling jewel since she’s probably the most dazzling member of the royal court haha. And I also agree with the user who suggested pitchforks instead of spears for the peasants!
For a righteous queen, some sort of scepter. For a stuck-up queen, a Tampon. For @Ai chan or @lychee, no comment.
actually a diadem would be most indicative of queen. if you make the crown like the english crown, as in closed at the top, and not just a circlet, then a diadem like the one from tangled (yes, i recently watched it, sue me) would make for a very nice contrast. otherwise a dress, or a ring, seeing as most monarchies are patrilineal, so women marry into the family. But i still believe a circlet would be best. p.s. peasants should be pitchforks because conscripted peasants were almost never given any decent weaponry, they only served to cushion the blow of the charge so the trained soldiers behind them had more chance of surviving.
I don't understand why peasants are spears... they should be symbolized using Hammer and Sickle... Maybe you can put a Vodka symbol in... for the barkeeper...
The reason why not is because the symbols would be very small and colourless as the tokens themselves are small and monocolour. That would mean the person on the other side of the board would find it hard to tell the difference.
you are right such game doesn't exist, the queen piece as originaly called general, but during the introducion in europe by the arabs, the name was changed
Uhh... I'm missing the English word, but ya know on a puppet with strings, but not the puppet? The thing that you hold to manipulate the strings and thus the puppet below
