You can make it a pair of crowns, as with chess. Otherwise, you have to appeal to gender stereotypes, because the king and queen are a pair of consorts. There is no obvious difference in their associated items. PS: As others mentioned, spears don't really align with peasants. I would suggest a scythe, pitchfork or maybe a torch. I don't believe there is a word for that part of a marionette. I guess it might be called a handle?
Heels? Like Cinderella's glass slippers but tiny~ Or howsabout a face? It's always about the face with women. They put it on coins, they launch a thousand ships with it, etc, etc. Wikipedia calls it a control bar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marionette#Types_of_marionette_control_bar
When i hear "Queen" I remember the red queen from Alice in Wonderland asking for roses to be painted. So my suggestion is a rose symbol.
I know we have one for it in my language, and English likes pilfering others Though it's probably just not a common word, lol A handle does sound like a good guess tho Thank you! xD Also, multiple people have voiced put that spears are an unfitting symbol for peasants, so let me give ya a couple reasons to think otherwise: Chess is, plainly speaking, a war game Going by the original post; this hypothetical game would be something at least somewhat related to it And as such; we could very well go by things related to war. Peasants, in war, have one of two roles: they are completely unrelated or cannonfodder. If you arent completely broke - as a country - and wanna increase the quality of your cannonfodder (beyond pitchforks and such) you need to give them better weapons and/or armor. Inexpensive and easy to use weapons of course, which basically limits the choice to... spears! Mostly/totally wood(allowing for quick and easy make), all you need to teach for basic quality of capability is how to stab(low time requirements, if any), they have a somewhat longer range than other weapons(advantage) and you can use it as status symbol - showing that peasants are _peasants_! Its peasant weapon nr. 1! Also, I ended up making this post way bugger than intended
that's why i specifically mentioned the tiara from tangled, it has 3 big oval gems, making it very distinct. As for the king's crown take the one with triangles hat have those little balls on top. the difference between both will make it very clear what is what ^^
Spears really are the weapon of choice for arming a militia. They always have been. You don't give fresh conscripts a sword.
Queen Icon Suggestion: - accessories such as necklace, ring, bracelet, earrings - diamond, pearls, birthstones (ie. emerald, ruby, sapphire, etc) - shoes/high heels - treasure box with jewels and gold coins - corset - fancy throne - fancy hats/hair accessories - fancy fan (hide emotions or slap someone) - fancy white glove (ready to slap anyone in the face) ...
Queen = embroidery hoop this can work for a western style game or eastern style game. They both used circular embroidery hoops in ye olden days. Just have the embroidery hoop standing up due to fabric and you’ll be fine.
Hmmm, I think it will be a dagger. Based on quite a lot of fiction series from korea, queen is almost synonymous to backstabbing and such. They compete with other women related to the king on grooming the best king candidate
