Discussion Would you sell your daughter into marriage, another scenario?

You've been reincarnated as a commoner in some pre-modern or fantasy society, and you've got one lovely daughter who is fast approaching upper limits of marriageable age, and she won't have the greatest of future if she fails to get married... but she insists she won't, unless she loves the guy or such...

Then one day some shady, Ramsay Bolton look alike noble/knight kicks in your door and proclaims that he will take your daughter and marry her, and he offers you a substantial amount of money as a bride price... Your daughter insists she won't, but he brushes it off and says he will take your daughter, regardless what either of you say and he merely asking if you'll take the money or not...

Manipulating the options to create your scenario is making this a pointless question. It's essentially a loaded question. It's stupid and mindless.

If I could envision a plan to free her with the money I get, I would take the money.
If not, I'd fight. It'd give her the peace of mind that she wasn't just abandoned for money or was just given up on like her life wasn't worth some risk. It'd also give her the awareness that he's being taken by the kind of man who would murder her father just because I was an annoyance - for what it's worth.

 

Option #1: you lose but you have a lot of money
Option #2: you lose and you have no money
Option #3: you lose and you have to pay for medical fees.

Option #3 means you would be out of action and in no position to do anything so it wouldn't matter.

Option #2 means you are now one less person to feed. Probably most heartless and brainless option.

Option #1 obviously. Then you can use the money to hire someone to get your daughter back and run away.

with the myriad of choices i could actually make in that kind of situation and also how unrealistic it is i reaaalllly don't want to answer the question with those 3 choices lol. answering it and imagining it just makes me feel bad after all.
