I just found this on Netflix. So far, it is a cultivation/immortal story as you would expect like desolate era and some others that I can’t remember..... You will hear/read about spiritual roots and golden core.... It’s about a young man joining a sect and he goes through the entrance exams but with a twist..... it’s a comedy and it works!!!! This is a guess since I have just started but... Spoiler I think the MC is a reincarnation/transmigration. He talks in gaming terms as the story progresses. The sect elders aren’t the dour type but a bunch of funny beings though they do what they should. The funny moments flow in and out without it feeling like they just threw a gag in there. It doesn’t break the story flow. Watching this feels like reading a cultivation novel on screen. This flows just like a cultivation novel and it’s the first show that I felt that way. It’s very fun to watch. Just had to throw this out and let’s see what others think about this show. i wouldn’t mind seeing more of this type of tv shows.
Haven't watched it yet, but it's from the novel Once Upon A Time, There Was A Spirit Sword Mountain. So it's probably why you feel like it's a novel.
Pretty sure Ive watched the anime, the S1 is pretty awesome, especially the later parts. By TV you mean live action ?
The novel is amazing. In my top favorites. You will miss out a lot if you can't read his internal narration.
Ahhh.... i know that novel. I bypassed it after reading the reviews..... didn’t think it was a comedy. I guess I’ll try the manhua version first. One spoiler kinda got me to not want to read.... it reminded me of a very stupid Japanese story.... the vrmmo armor series....
...so the cartoon is out? Or did Netflix finally make a live-action TV adapt and gave the MC role to someone who does not remotely look like a chinese?
Actually, Netflix has been making the moves/series in their home countries so you won’t run into what your thinking. This is a drama and it looks like it is a new one out in china, not all episodes are available. It’s gonna be available through next month so done around the end of December. I think it aired this month.
If the wiki is right, it aired starting nov 12, 2019. From Netflix, it looks like it will have 37 episodes. Sections of episodes will be available on every Saturday with the last on dec 21st.
Yes and it should be the live action. the anime has long been out so shouldnt it be too late to find that?
I'm watching it right now, so far it's following the manga pretty closely. Enjoying the comedy so far
I am just looking forward to watching Sandrine Pinna in something that actually gets subbed 100% lol Amour et Patisserie still has the final episode unsubbed since 2013 lol
