Every year we have the two biggest shopping holidays right after Thanksgiving which are Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Just this year, American are expected to drop about 87 billion dollars (approximately) on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, however, who knows how much this number will rise in reality? Why you should restrain yourselves on shopping holidays? 1. It makes us crazy rather than thankful. 2. People get shopping rage (similar to road rage except shopping) 3. 52% of the time, we end up regretting what we bought. 4. It does damage to the environment. (eg buying more clothes contributes to fast fashion culture and more resources like water and oil are used to produce more clothes to meet the demand) Unless you've really been saving up for an item you need or you're buying small gifts for friends and families for the Christmas season, I really encourage you not to spend more than what you need. It doesn't only save you money but also saves the environment. (Call me Potato Thunberg. ) To stop myself from falling into the pit trap of shopping, I usually mute my subscriptions and turn off Instagram notifications as well as try to busy myself doing other things so I don't see any of the sale signs online. (IT'S LIKE AN ADDICTION I TELL U ) Are you planning to buy anything for Black Friday/Cyber Monday? If not, how do you manage to restrain yourself from these crazy shopping holidays?? Let's all stay strong throughout this hard weekend and save out wallets!!! *Ding!* Eh?? What was that?? Sees 50% off. GASP, ADDS TO CART AND CLICKS PAY.
Why restrain yourself in buying stuff in black Friday when you don't even have the money to buy stuff anyways? *cries in silence
I'm not, the answer to why/how is what I spend money on is either fast food, or soda/chips. My entertainment consists of NU/NUF and YouTube
when is black Friday? what is cyber Monday? I'm just a poor child staying at home instead of going for animefes because I hurt.
i'm not sure the cause of it, but i managed to restrain myself to buy only 1 Valkyria Chronicles 4 on black friday sale. Mainly, it was caused by recent free update to complete edition which allows you to get every dlc in the game that makes people who already owns it got free dlc for owning it before the update, which makes me very salty, since it was on my wishlist from their release time. So, when it got 50% discount on black friday i just went and bought it and strangely be satisfied with only that one purchase that make me not want to buy more. i think satisfaction is one factor we can add in the equation of restriction .
The only thing I was looking to buy is an $1100 34" ultrawide monitor because I've been in the 60hz 1080p life for years. It's discounted to $800 but that's still $500 out of my reach at the moment so I'll probably not be purchasing anything. It's got the "Pay $160 over 5 months" option which is veeeery tempting but for some reason I'm uncomfortable doing those without having the ability to buy it outright.
If you are buying online what does it matter? Not crazy enough to go in person out there for black Friday. Never regretted what I bought :/ Who buys clothes? You can get a lot of good deals from early Nov-mid january(clearance of things that didn't sell) that you might only rarely see through out the year. Of course you should know the value of what you are purchasing. But a lot of great deals that manufacturers throw out there. Best of all, the return policies are better too. Buying a computer? Many places get free returns with no restock fees during this time of year.
I actually have the opposite problem. I hate shopping. I actually force myself to skim the sales and see if there's anything I need. If I don't then for the next month every time I buy something I'll wonder if I wasted money not buying it on Black Friday.
If u are poor, u don't have to care. If u are middle class, think about all the other things u could do with that money, if u can't come up with anything, then go. Buy what u want. And if u are rich... Do u really care about my advice?? Go and spend that fkin money.
I see 7 people have voted on spending more than a 1000 dollars..... WHERE ARE YOU AND CAN YOU ADOPT ME????
I've already dropped too much money on pre-Black Friday sales. I bought a set of all weather floor mats for my car. Unfortunately, they sent the set that's not for my year's model, so they don't quite fit. I'm debating whether I want to deal with the hassle of sending them back. I also bought 2 shields for my collection (and, you know, just in case monsters start appearing in this world), a generic all metal round shield and a Scottish Targe shield.
