As I was hand-sewing my shirt back together I was reminded at how useful this little skill is. The rip was in an L shape with 3 millimeters on each side. So it was pretty big and on the sleave. Of course, I'm not the best at hand sewing but I can do an okay job. I've sewn on countless buttons, fixed a few rips, and altered some clothes. If not for this simple task I would have had to get rid of lots of clothes. So it got me wondering, what are some of your guys little skills that are useful?
I never thought about it before But I think I have some few good enough little useful skills, like cooking and baking
I can cook and sew, but mostly cook and I learn basic mechanic to maintain my car and know how to take care of my car so that I don't have to go to a shop and have them rip me off. last year I had to replace the suspension on the left side as it broke when I lent my car to friend apparently speeding the car went onto the side walk and had to replace the arm the lower part of the suspension was broken it took me 40 min to go buy and take said part off the car and put the new ones in.
I was expecting cooking. It's really useful even if it's just frying an egg and steaming some rice. I didn't think about baking but @Kalto you are so right. Ah man! Knowing how to fix car is extreamly helpful! Going to a shop is so expensive, it hurts to think about.
My skill is being related to both a mechanic and a plumber. So that's two things I'll never have to worry about. Being related to someone is a skill, right?
These sound like situational skills. Useful for some things, but not applicable to many things. Does it have to be physical? I can play my favorite playlist of songs in my head wherever and whenever I want. I have over 100 anime songs memorized, though I suck at singing. I can boil water and make noodles. I can type on a keyboard without looking at the keyboard. I can read at a very fast pace while still understanding most of what is happening in a story. This thread is difficult to answer.
I went to Architecture school so I'm usually really good with crafts and building models. Cooking is my hobby and was also work some time ago. But the most important skill is being able to use the google search bar! Hoarding skills and knowledge from the internet. My most random skill would be that I have super flexible toes and I can grab things and even write (holding a pen) with my feet.
