If you haven't registered, go here to sign in: Annals of the Alliance (ALPHA) Tutorial raids are raids that teach inexperienced players on the mechanics of combat. Usually, a move is posted before the necessary dice rolls have been implemented. Once the dice have been rolled, the success and failure of the move will be narrated by the host on the enemy's next turn. A typical post would look something like this:
Raid 0.1 - Raided Village Brief Introduction: Since the near destruction of the three kingdoms, volunteers from each kingdom forged a city at the northernmost region where human control still dominates. As the first of many strongholds to come, the city tasks the warriors to clear the area of monsters in order to free the paths connecting the city to each of the three kingdoms. Because it is the first city of a new alliance, the city is named Era. Whether the warriors take on the quest in groups or solo, the first monster they chance upon is none other than the most common of all monsters – the goblin. Goblins are cowardly yet cruel little monsters. They always attack in troves and they always target the nearby villages. Very rarely, however, goblin stragglers will try attacking caravans or travelers. Though goblins aren’t well equipped, they are known for their disease-ridden attacks that could induce paralysis or nausea. Goblins reproduce very quickly. A baby goblin could be born every two weeks and grow up to be a battle-ready adult goblin in about a month. Mutations are welcome for goblins. As incest between humans can cause potential defects, incest between goblins cause mutations. Mutated goblins are known to be stronger than a normal goblin in one or more aspects. These green, impish monsters are extremely dangerous if left alone for too long. That is why, the city has tasked most new warriors as well as some old veterans to weed out the goblin colonies and keep their numbers in check. Five to ten Goblins are raiding a village! Warriors! Raid 0.2 - Corroded Travelers Brief Introduction: In the past, the roads connecting the three kingdoms with Era were relatively safe. However, from no one knows when, a race of creatures emerged along those paths. The creature was described to be of a gelatinous nature with what appeared to be a magic core situated deep within. They were sticky, slimy, and corrosive by nature. And they were affectionally…and hatefully coined as ‘Slimes’. These creatures came in the many colors of the rainbow. And each colored slime had different magical properties. Red slimes could cast fire-type magic. Blue slimes had soothing water abilities. Green slimes were normal but dark green slimes had poisonous attributes. There were, of course, other colored slimes, but these four colors were the most common. These slimes would show up unexpectedly and prey on the travelers and caravans, which was detrimental to Era’s progress. Thus, it was up to the city, once again, to send in warriors and help solve this serious issue. A signal flare has been shot! A traveler or maybe a caravan is in need of help from Era! The city immediately sent in a few warriors to help. ********** Green Slime Level 0 HP – 30 MP – 6 Basic Skills: Basic Attack – 2 DMG Basic Defend – 6 DMG Acquired Skills: Envelop – Wraps around target, dealing corrosive DMG; 2 DMG per post until death. Tutorial Raid #1 Ten goblins - a mixture of six Goblin Warriors and four Goblin Archers - have descended upon a helpless village of fifty. A call for help has reached Era and the city, though tight on veteran warriors, dispatched a number of inexperienced warriors hoping that at least a few of them were able to survive the ordeal and save the village. The village lost ten people already by the time the request was answered and the warriors arrived at the scene of the massacre. As the battle ready goblins were focusing on pillaging, they did not realize that there were more company until it was too late. Players can attack first! OBJECTIVE: There are forty villagers left. The ten goblins will attack and kill five villagers at the end of each day. If the village loses twenty more villagers, then the raid is considered a failure. Players have four days to complete. Kyris uses Lacerate on Goblin Warrior #1 Deals 12 DMG and 1 extra DMG every post for five posts Uses 4 STA Current Status: HP: 110/110 STA: 31/35
Scythe will cast Chained Lightning on Goblin Warrior #1 with a secondary target of Goblin Warrior #2 for 17 and 4 damage respectively. Current Stats: HP: 25/25 MP: 35/45
Flux will Triple Thrust Warrior 2 for 10 damage on Goblin Warrior #2 and fail to pierce through. The next thrust will also target Goblin Warrior #2, dealing an additional 10 damage, and pierce through damaging Goblin Warrior #3 for 5 damage. The last thrust will deal 10 more damage on Goblin Warrior #2 and pierce through damaging Goblin Warrior #3 for 5 more damage. Total: Goblin Warrior #2 = -30 hp, Goblin Warrior #3 = -10 hp
Scythe will cast Chained Lightning again, Attacking Goblin Warrior #3 for 20 damage and Goblin Warrior #2 for 7, possibly killing it.
Taking advantage of the surprise, the inexperienced warriors started unleashing their skills onto the goblins. Hammer immediately saw a goblin archer (GA2) in the distance and raised his staff up to charge. As magic swirled about his weapon, condensing and growing ever more powerful, Kyris charged towards a goblin warrior (GW1) and slashed the unsuspecting monster in the back. As GW1 bled, he spun around with a mixture of fear and anger in his eyes. Before he could retaliate, Scythe fired a lightning bolt at him. The goblin warrior shook as the lightning coursed through his body and bounced towards another goblin warrior (GW2). The shocked GW1 stumbled and tried to regain his balance but he was quickly knocked over by Oz's timely shield bash. The goblin warrior collapsed dead on the ground but not before he caught a glimpse of Hammer as the Elemental Mage fired a charged bolt of raw magic into a goblin archer, completely frying his brains. Meanwhile, Grenz buffed up both Hammer and Scythe with Magic Enhancement so that their next magical attack was stronger than before. As the two Elemental Mages marveled at their strength boost, Flux rushed in and stabbed GW2 three times with two of his thrusts piercing clean through and into another goblin warrior (GW3). To follow up, Scythe fired another lightning bolt that bounced from GW3 to GW2, killing GW2 in the process. The goblins, having lost three of their own, were extremely pissed. Goblin Warriors charged towards the human warriors without care. GW3 and GW4 attacked Flux with 'Double Team', dealing a possible 8 DMG. GW 5 and GW6 attacked Scythe with a 'Double Team' of their own, dealing a possible 8 DMG as well. All goblin archers started applying their arrows with poison.
With Kyris in his Guardian Stance, Flux took 5 damage from the Double Team attack bringing his hp from 80 to 75. Flux will start his Triple Thrust and attack Goblin Warrior #4 for 10 damage and fail to pierce through. The second thrust will attack Goblin Warrior #4 again for 10 more damage and pierce through into Goblin Warrior #3 for 5 damage. The third Thrust will attack Goblin Warrior #4 for 10 more damage. Total: Goblin Warrior #3: -5 hp, Goblin Warrior #4: -30 hp
