What food should I give him? How hot? What kind? Basically, I want all knowledge u can give me about feeding a cat.
cat rations, if you do not have and are thinking of giving your "human food" go with protein, meat or fish.
canned cat food, room temp or a little warm (not hot) or dry cat food, though wet is much better for them. meat if you desperately need to feed it and can't get to the store. you can feed them a little bit of canned tuna for humans but too much is bad for them. unless it's an unweened kitten, then it needs kitten formula and your in for a ton of work with feedings every few hours and then taking care of their afterwards messes.
aside from cat food... canned tuna is good or any other kind of plain preserved or fresh fish or shellfood (though you can´t use large fish like tuna for every meal due to its mercury content) and be aware of bones! Pretty much any kind of meat I've had a couple that liked patés ^^ some cats even like a bit of cheese (not a lot) as a treat once in a while ^^
Goat milk is ok i think. But for adult cat usually i just give water. I used to feed my cat canned cat food, cause i thought its for the best. Well, now it won't eat those cheaper cat biscuits. And the canned food, the good ones, cost a pretty penny. I have to mix both to force it to try get used to eating those cat biscuits. Now that its about to have babies, it keep getting hungry fast. Smh
Cooked shrimp! Manny (the cat) loves it buttered lol. As for fish, my sis buys a kilo of cheap fish and cook it with water, slightly salted and vinegar. Keep it in a fridge. It'll be cat food for weeks. Some cats like the fish innards. Just boil it. I say some coz Manny doesn't like it.
Yeah taking care of an unweened kitten is a real pain! the work is huge, and it might die anyways, because in cases where you have to take care of such a little guy, it's usually due to mama cat abandoning them... and they might have done that because of a birth defect or a sickness which is not immediately obvious to people (or even vets) Not to speak of the trouble you can have socializing them to other cats once they're a little bigger (If you have adult cats it might be best to keep little kittens seperate, because they are just easy prey, especially to male cats) since it's pretty diffiult to teach them social cues they normally emulate from their mama, so they might get in some pretty bad fights -_-' But despite the hard work I've found that it's always worth a try to take care of those little guys!
Kitties love meat. You can feed kitties some vegetables too, but they're carnivores, vegetables can scratch the itch but they don't do anything. Depending on the country, feeding your kitty only vegetables can be against the law. So you need to put in the meat daily. The bigger the meat, the more satisfied the kitty will be. But not too big, if it's bigger than the kitty, you're probably doing something wrong. BTW, kitties love the chicken. On the serious side, as for cow milk, cats can't digest it. Will it kill them? No, because they will simply refuse it unless they're very hungry. Just give them water.
the usual is chicken or fish or rabbit or whatever you have. if he's hungry enough, he'll probably eat it. (careful of allergies, mine is allergic to chicken and boy did that suck).
If your cat ever gets chronic diarrhea (diarrhea for a couple of days, but no throw up, and your cat still eats and drinks normally) you can try giving it boiled rice (or you can use potato too I think... not sure tho) with a little chicken or fish, to see if that alleviates it. It's way cheeper than the medicine you can get for diarrhea, and you should consult a vet anyways before giving any of that sort of medicine. ^^ obviously if it dosn't get better with the rice (as long as the cat is otherwise healthy, you do the diet for a week), then see your vet since it could be an allergy or a parasite or some other such thing ^_^
