so two years ago i started reading novels and i got hooked and i was reading alot but with work its not easy to just read so i found a site with audio novels it has alot of novels but not everything of course so i was listening to novels from there so after a while i started making audio novels that wasnt on the site so i was wondering how does everyone think about listening to novels instead of reading it and i was thinking about sharing the novels that i have converted into audio
@AgroSquerril already doing something like that https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/making-audio-books-of-web-novels-and-streaming.86691/ I don't see why not
I'm quite interrested in audio novels but a lot of amature audio readers talk way to fast or lower their voice too sharply at the end or even in the middle of sentences, making it hard for me, a non english native to understand them as easily as pro readed ones who have usually a more regular and slow pacing with a more precise vocalization. If you have multiple reader sources feel free to share them, in hope I find easier one to enjoy .
Since I am a kid I listen to audio drama ... only to fall asleep ... so even now I turn on something if I have problems with falling asleep ... not sure if that is your desired outcome of people listening to your work though ...
introducing you to: "," comma-san, and "." full stop-kun. that aside, I think audio novels in english wont be able to nail Chinese and japanese tl novels, plus the pace of reading is extremely slow that I would rather watch anime.
I'm just making ePub files and using Google TTS to listen to it (with additional controls that Moon+ Reader Pro provides). I've been doing so for years. When I actually have free time to read I set it to quick reading and I listen as read. Other times, when I can only listen, I slow down the speed somewhat, depending on what task I'm doing - chores, cooking, cycling, walking, or even working sometimes (if I can get away with it - usually on Saturdays). I'm not gonna go for actual audio files, since they're likely too slow-paced and quickening audio results in chipmunk voices... Add a "TTS" option in the poll.
I already listen to novels, mostly I find them at lrts and youtube, what site do you find the readings on?
Well if you do, please do the R18 ones, I kinda wanna have a hard-on while driving. If possible, moan seductively if there is some part of the text requires it. Please don't have a fucking seizure.
I've never bothered with them, but I could easily see the appeal as something to listen to when reading is impossible or inconvenient. E.g. while working.
Honestly I enjoy them since lots of times easier to listen and multitask, but noticed I'm rather picky with speeds and voices. I'd also love to know where you can find audiobooks, cuz they not available on YT lots of times or don't always have access to text reader add-ons /extension like naturalreader or reedy
