Question Why Should I Read "He Who Fights Monsters"?

This novel seems to get lots of plaudits.
I have recommended the novel to aspiring authors on how to succeed on Patreon but I like your personal reason and preferably unique reason why you would recommend it to someone

Simply, it is a good novel, just make sure that the person you recommand it to, is a fan of the same genres in that novel and not a fan of something different like GL, BL, villainess, etc.. (they might not appreciate it in this case since it is not their cup of tea )

 

The title!!! I thought it was "Those who fight further" ........

 

My favorite thing about the novel is the power system. There is significant effort made in designing the abilities in the novel-world to be balanced, this is a very game-like thing and I love it so much for it. Balance is this idea that most multiplayer game have to implement in some way, but almost no Lit-RPG/VRMMORPG novel implements it. They would always have to implement something like "Titles" where the first guy to achieve something would monopolize that achievement or something like "Unique Class" where only the MC is unique because he's the MC... not purely because of how he's a good player. This is what I hate the most about Arcane Emperor and Legendary Moonlight Sculptor.

I mean, of course, it's a novel and you want the MC to be special but special players exist in our world where our games are made with efforts put into balance. They're pretty fun to watch too, you'd probably notice that by how popular game youtubers are. If you want to ignore the rules of RPG design, just don't make a Lit-RPG novel dammit, make a normal fantasy battle novel instead!

Speaking of which, royalroadl.com have another Lit-RPG that I like for the same reason called "Delve".

the mc is a whole joke and a clown. His personality is a hit or miss, you will really warm up to him or just find it ridiculous.
And the amount of wall of text for dialogue between mc and side characters made me wanna tear my hair out.
