Question Tips on mlt

I'm a reader and want to ask fellow readers and translators some tips to make mlt less of a vomit-inducing lifespan-shaving experience.

 

Prepare some aspirin.

 

1. Shut your brain off when reading.
2. Take it like a man as the mtl pelts your balls repeatedly. Take it like a woman as the mtl makes you have period.
3. If you must take drugs, skip aspirin/paracetamol and go straight for acid. If you must have a trip, might as well go for it.

 

skim the lines and figure out the plot with the use of occasional words and text

 

1. Know proper language of the language you are reading into
2. Always have dictionary at the ready
3. If anything else fail. Get multiple mtl software at the ready

 

forget everything about grammar, all you need is to know what those words means....

~ grammar is meh so throw it away, it really help if ya have experience talking to someone who learn new language while try to communicate with ya
~ make own term for anything such as character name, place, skill ect
~ read as whole chappy not sentence to understand what chappy told ya, summary you make summary of chapter
~ read on bulk cuz it help understand previous chappy
~ practice make purrfect

btw current online dictionary that cat use to mtl is way better than few years ago.....
long time ago it as hard as solve crazy puzzle

If you plan to read CN MTL, I recommend you check out SYSTRAN Translator

 

Read through it. Even if you don't understand the plot well just read through it. Once you read all chapters and you still don't get it, you may start banging your head on the screen of your device.

 

Get another hobby

 

CN MTL seems to be mostly guesswork by rebuilding the absolutely atrocious syntax and grammar with frequent, nonsensical words into something you have ~55% confidence in being close to the truth. I assume anything but the most frequent poetic devices will be completely massacred though, but a fluent chinese language speaker would be better to help with that.

It will bork your brain, though. Not even joking! Read enough MTL and it will be hard to shift back to normal once you get used to it.

This is good advice, I keep a JP dictionary up in another tab. In case some websites have copy protection, you can bypass that with an addon to easily copy paste the RAW words in. Expect to invest time if you really want to master the Dao of MTL.
