aliens, possessed dolls, possessed rocking chairs, ghosts, vampires, fairies, mermaid, etc etc.

    do you believe in them?

Personally, I feel like there’s no reason to nOt believe in them. We have no proof that they doNt exist. Instead, there’ve been many cases of people encountering weird thing unexplainable by science...

perhaps it seems kinda far fetched to think there could be actual existences exact to the ones mentioned above, but I’m much much much much much more inclined to believe that there are more than just humans that exist in the entire frickin universe. It’s kinda weird to think that out of 13468874322+ trillion possible galaxies in the world humans could be the ONLY ones out there. Few have even left our little planet and there’s pretty much no record of humans having gone beyond the galaxy. those who have... either never post it on the net for fear of being experimented on,, or have already been caught, silenced and experimented on. Also can some things really be explained by words??

Crikeys tho idk is there some sort of term for people who believe in the unknown.. I feel like there are terms/words for EVERYTHING these days, especially fear related things. One such example is arachnophobia. Another is
Arachibutyrophobia: fear of having peanut butter stuck on the roof of your mouth,
    Sesquipedalophobia: Fear of long words,
Phobophobia: Fear of having a phobia, and last but not least Dextrophobia: Fear of having objects to your right...

i find ‘phObiAs’ mostly just stupid tbh, it’s just a fancy word to describe things that people fear, and most just use it to sound unnecessarily more dramatic.

I’m Muslim, so accepting the supernatural is in my faith. However accepting vampires and werewolves (etc), I don’t.

Was based in an army barracks in germany. Round about this time i was on call out for cell duties so it was only me in the "block". Everyone left to on thursday and i was on prisoner duties till sunday. Once prisoner left went back to the room and block on my own, come monday evening thats when weird things started happening. I felt a slow steady pull on my tshirt as i slept, woke up thought nothing of it. Tuesday night same thing happened so i woke up started sleeping with the lights on. Wednesday night felt it again this time with the light in middle of room i saw a shape of a human shadow standing over my bed. Thursday night kept getting knocks in middle of my wardrobes. To the point i was now watching movies in order to pass out. I asked my friend who stayed there last xmas time anything weird happened to him? and he replied on messenger the said the exact same experiences above. He told me its a playful ghost and accept it and i was like hell no! Seen enough movies to know ill end up hanging on a ceiling if i do! So i carried on watching movies till im too tired and pass out. Somehow it stopped!

In same camp but different block. I used to get sleep paralysis and experience a shadow person end of my bed. Obviously left that room, few years later had a party meet some guys who now lived and stayed in that room and i said to the guy this used to be my old room! Had anything weird happened to you? He said, i wake up sometimes in middle of night and can see the shape of a human shadow standing at the end of my bed.

Whatever it is, its out there you just either ignore it or not receptive to the signs. I have other stories but too long to right if enough people interested can write them down though. All true stories.

One would have to be rather crazy to believe that this rock we live on, is the only rock in the entire "infinite" universe with life on it, but I don't think belief in extraterrestrial life falls under paranormal or supernatural...

As for things like: gods, angels, demons, ghosts, vampires, fairies, mermaid, etc...

I am about as close to absolutely sure as one can be, that all of those are fictional entities invented by humans...

But that is not to say that only things that humans know about exists... Its entirely possible that there could be creatures out there in the universe, or even here on earth that might be as incredible as some of the gods, angels, demons, etc... and we just don't know about em... but human beliefs or claims about such creatures existing isn't trustworthy...

UFO's for example... If I were to interview or listen to all the stories of all the people who believe they've been abducted or seen aliens, I am fairly sure I would consider every single one of them to be either, deluding them selves or out right lying, with more than 99.9999% probability. Yet at the same time, I think its entirely possible aliens could be visiting earth all the time without us knowing...

So we're not talking about hippomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

Sometimes I fear long words when I look in my textbooks.
For example : flexor digitorum superficialis.

Well everything has a root, like the story about magic, dragon, etc. There's must be some kind of phenomenon that makes that kind of story born. But usually it always just science or people don't look properly at things. I mean in my nation (Indonesia) they said that older (ancient/ancestor) or people that life in 18s below is a powerful shaman/witch/warlock or whatever you called, they say there's someone who bulletproof, can take knife unharmed, send some kind of curses from afar. But to me it doesn't make sense, if our people is that powerful how the hell we colonized by Netherlands for 3 century. So to me I don't really believe supernatural phenomenon, it's just a science or people get tricked I think.

One of my beliefs is 'seeing is believinf' so not yet. If tuere really is an actual evidence that states otherwise then i don't believe in supernatural shens... No amount of quacks and theorycrafting would make me believe otherwise lol

I still insist that aliens absolutely do not exist.

However, it is a different story for supernatural stuff like ghosts, vampires and werewolves though. They might exist.

Phobia isn't just fear of something, it is the irrational fear of something. Where a person may fear high places when I cross a large bridge I get an anxiety attack. Where a person may not like spiders a person with arachnophobia would run screaming from a room with a spider in a jar. Where people may fear the dark, a person with Myctophobia may go as far as not going out after dark to even, at an extreme, avoid shadows.
My favorite has always been Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia- the fear of long words and it is one of the longest words in english.

I've recently participated (in a minor way) in a tangentially related discussion elsewhere, & one of the points that came up as important to "Scientific Thinking" was the idea that you can't necessarily absolutely prove or disprove something, you can only say "The evidence/information available to me suggests that 'this' is (not) true", but you need/must try to always be open to the possibility that something might come along that contradicts your current understanding sufficiently that you should be open to changing your mind (which is not to say that your threshold for "changing your mind" should be low or easy to meet, after all "not keeping mind so open your brain falls out" is also important).
