I know of chaotic or chaotic evil or lawful evil types but never read a story with chaotic good protagonist i think. Maybe this can be considered~ Endless Path : Infinite Cosmos (webnovel) Don't ignore it just because it's on webnovel as this is one of the best i have ever read if not the best with the most character development i have ever seen and well it's free too.
Chaotic Good has a chaotic good MC, I guess. Tbh, I am just checking the other recs out. Even if I don't like some ^ at all and think they suck.
I suspect that World of Cultivation could be argued to develop a Chaotic Good Protagonist. He starts out as a Lawful Neutral, obeying the rules because he basically has no choice, and, due to a situation early on, turns Chaotic Neutral, as he discovers a way he can become much more powerful than the way everyone else around him is, so long as he turns his back on a significant part of his peoples culture, which he happily does, learning the techniques of his people's enemies through a Spirit Grandpa who came from those enemies. Eventually, he gets into a situation where he can either abandon people and try to make it on his own, or build up a military force from the stragglers that other, larger, forces have left behind to die and teach them. He does so, at which point I believe it could be argued that he started developing into a Chaotic Good Character.

Well. If friend of the mc instead of mc himself was okay, I would suggest Cultivation Chat Group. Character called 'White' is Chaotic Good and he appears pretty early on in the story and is mostly present throughout it.
