It might have something to do with him drinking Darcia's blood which in essence is Vida's blood giving him a boost to his divinity and yes has to do with their relationship with Van.

Wasn't it the other way around, where normal vamps have difficulties with getting the skill and abyssal ones gaining it with ease? I could be remembering it wrong but I kinda feel like they were gobbling the bottled blood up and rushing out to sizzle under the sun for a chapter.

they did do that also they didn't turn in to abyssal vampires until after they drank a certain amount of his blood and already had the sunlight resistance
