    Adobe Photoshop
    Gimp
    SAI
These are some of the ones you can use. Also congrats on taking a new pc though 256 GB is little low on storage as i prefer 1TB much more over it but the other specs are quite nicely high-end:aww:

There’s also sketchbook as well. (Also a one time purchase)

I don’t use any of the PC applications.

    but there’s SAI
    ClipArt Studio (one time purchase?)
Paint storm Studio(one time purchase) Ik for this you can use and download PSD files and brushes. Idk about the others.
    Medi bang.
For their prices I’d double check.

My iPad I bought this year is 200G.b of storage.
If I were buying a PC I’d get a external hard drive cause those files can be huge sometimes. They also stack over time...which can get to be a lot.

The same purpose as Clip Studio paint EX is used for. Character drawing, anime, manga, etc.

If you are looking for low budget options, then I would definitely go for Krita and GIMP, because they are free (and open-source I think?)! Inkspace is free and open-source too, though I tried it out and I'm not a huge fan. GIMP was also a little overwhelming for me since it has so many buttons.
If you have no cost restrictions, I would definitely recommend Adobe Photoshop, because (1) it's so versatile (2) it's incredibly well-known so it has the most online resources and support, and (3) it has a lot of really useful features that the other software applications don't have.

Tbh all i can say is things you DONT get

SAI, pressure sensitive pens dont work as its supposed in SAI, I experienced this in my Windows Surface. Unless you want to get Wacom in future, dont get SAI.

Second, dont get OpenCanvas, doesnt update, and quite lacking compared to its price. I gave it 1 star rating on Steam quoting "i prefer tentacle rape over this".

Corel painting, unless you are millionaire with whims to spend nonsensical money, i wouldnt suggest

Otherwise, rest are all amazing options^^

A lot of people have given advice, but I'll give another shout out to Krita. It originally forked from GIMP. The difference is while GIMP tries to be like photoshop where it can do this and that, Krita specializes for painting. So while it can do more than painting, it's primary focus is painting.

That said, as someone who also has a windows tablet with a pen, I tried photoshop, Krita, SAI and etc and lets just say I wasn't too thrilled. I mean part of the issue is windows tablet mode is how to call it, not polished? The other is that its a bit heavy and the screen is too slippery. Drawing on windows is meant to use a separate pad with proper texture.

I had better luck drawing on android due to apps being more optimized for tablet mode and I could get screen protector with a bit more texture (still not as good as paper), but still waiting for a tablet with proper drawing experience : /

Sai, sai2, open canvas (steam game), Adobe photoshops, gimp, Adobe illustrator, Inkscape, csp

But I use wacom cintiq 16, Ubuntu support for wacom is amazing. Gimp and Inkscape many have some issues if Linux support is not really there yet.

I recommend getting open canvas, but no steam achievement :( I wants steam cards too. :(

I have csp too, but no Chinese, it don't work on Chinese windows. Other than that, the blending is amazing.

If your going to buy sai2, don't, csp is better worth money, same price, don't be like me waste money.

Sai is free, it lack some functions of csp.

Basically if you own adobe bundle or you have friends to get an enterprise version from some random companies like me. Adobe photoshop is good, but the blending suck.

CSP is good, but only Japanese and English. If you buy Japanese version, you have to buy English version again to get English. And no Chinese. No Chinese. And your windows have to be the language to launch.

Sai is good free, sai2 will cost you as much as csp but with lesser functions. Not worth. Sai2 have bonus functions like transparent rulers, text functions.

Open canvas, good but work very differently compares to csp and photoshop, you have hard time get use to it if you use the other few software.
Cost same as sai2 and csp. But you have to buy every years to get the yearly updates. If you buys open canvas 2016 you can still use open canvas 2016 in 2019 however. But what's the point if a steam game don't have steam achievements or steam cards.

Gimp, I use it in my Ubuntu desktop. Good, there is a control panel for wacom. As a Linux newbi, I didn't write a single cli comments to get my cintiq 1661 working in Ubuntu. It just supports it natively really good. But I don't know about other pen display.

    Note,
    • open canvas = 1 steam account.
    • CSP = 2 pc
    • Adobe clouds = 2pc
    • Sai2 = 1 email
    • Gimp free (crappy on windows)
    • Open canvas, csp, sai2 all cost the same. Expansive.
    • Adobe cost a hell unless you have friends working in a company to smuggle an enterprise account for you.

The tip don't last long it you do that, check if there is after-sales tip for that.

Haven't tried this one yet, Maybe I'll try it some other day, but not anytime soon. So far I think csp is the best other than the language problems.
