More precisely, my don'ts:

• The beginning shouldn't feel like insomnia cure
• Consistency of plot should be like delicate cake batter. And it shouldn't be half-baked, either
• Novel length should be short; the fillers, shorter
• The MC should be male and the novel should be a romance*
• The MC need not be romantically involved with anyone, but if he is, it should be with a female
• FL should be a bit fleshed out
• FL should be either joined to the MC... at the hip, specifically, or be out of sight, out of mind. In the 2nd case, the MC shouldn't be driven out of his mind trying to meet her or set his sights on other ladies
• If there's a harem, it should only revolve around MC's friend
• MC shouldn't be a busybody; he can have his hands full, tho
• MC should be more reasonable than xianxia logic
• MC's skin shouldn't be as thick as plot armor
• MC shouldn't be fat; he should look like the drug addict he is
• MC can wear all the blacks and whites he wants, but they shouldn't reflect his moral standpoint; I prefer grey(but not drab) MCs
• MC shouldn't form too many attachments; attachment to own life, however, is favored
• MC need not be too intelligent, but antagonists shouldn't be too dumb. If this makes it difficult for MC to win, he is permitted to beat them down with plot hammer
• Rather than MC blindly falling off cliffs and becoming OP, I'd prefer if he looks twice before he leaps
• Auctions should not feel like bargain sales exclusively for MC
• Tournaments should feel more like the Olympics than school P.E. sessions in their frequency. It'd be nice if the competition isn't rigged by the author
• Arrogant young masters should sight Mt Tai before it's too late. The MC should also exercise some forbearance while dealing with the visually impaired
• The elder(ly) should not overtax themselves in disciplining the MC. The MC should also take care not to unecessarily agitate his elders
• Faceslapping is OK, but such violence should not be the pivot of the plot
• MC can hv friends that hug his thighs, but they shouldn't be dead-weights
• I don't find political intrigue intriguing and neither should the MC
• It can be a tragedy... only for the antagonists
• The ending shouldn't feel like the author wrote it while suppressing the urge to rush to the toilet nor should it feel like s/he's planning a sequel

As one can see, I am very picky... if anyone can recommend a cultivation novel that meets the above reqs, pls do, so that I may expand the list.
