Um nah, it was a work done before Spice and Wolf so is kinda not as good as Spice and Wolf. It rather has super exciting part - super boring part thing going on for it...

 

I'll check up on it later then, after its clearer if the author is serious about the series.

He has updated the story 6th and 10th of January. He also explains that he is back working on the story, trying to do 4 chapters a week as of now. He just burnt out and took time off. But he is taking it seriously.

If he's doing four a week, then he'll almost certainly burnout again.

 

We'll find out if that happens. Honestly, 2 or 3 would be plenty.

I just figured. Didn't expect for an OG novel from an amateur author to get that far. They usually drop the novel at 100+ tops.

 

it's a pity that the mech touch starts off ok then when the MC starts his military career the novel quality sinks to the bottom of the ocean, everything minor gains monumental history lessons, MC ponders over the smallest of things and 3/4 of the chapter later you get some minor progression, then there is the epic levels of copy/paste/repetition, basically little to nothin ghappens apart from history lessons on any and every little thing the MC can think of, stuff that should be a paragraph of throwaway content ends up taking up 1/2 of a chapter or more, in later cases expect 3-4 chapters of skippable worthless content.

A well started/crafter novel turned into a complete mess of filler material, and not even entertaining filler material.

The only mech related novel i can think of that also starts great and ends terrible is
Legend of the Supreme Soldier, which gets to a point where the MC beats back the badguys in a minor way for the first time only to have the story end abruptly because reasons.

 

I recommend this too, the manga is worth reading

 

I really have to wonder why this thread keeps getting necro'd.

 

Yea Mech Touch had like 200 chapters of bad filler during his War Service Arc, but once they got to the planet it got way better

 

Was there really a need to necro this yet again for that? Its not really even on topic.
