Do you guys know how much they earn? for example a new writer and his/her WN.
I know they earn thru donation , patron etc., but don't know where and how they publish their works.
Kinda interest in becoming a patron and scout some potential writers.

Usually they start out on independent writing websites like royalroad, wattpad, etc. They must gather a substantial following for their novel and their work must be up to a certain standard. The links of ko-fi, patreon, etc. are linked there to gather money. It's definitely not easy. There is this novel called The Beginning After The End. It has even started being made into comic on tapas and paid through there. It has a pretty good following. The last time I checked, the author was getting $1000 through patreon monthly. That's not all that the author gets tho, because his platform is mainly tapas which pays him (both novel and comic), he also has his own website and 5 of the 6 volumes have been published on Amazon. Point is, he has a lot of modes of income. It's not easy to determine.

All I remember is one girl in college who writes a novel on webnovel makes up to £10,000 per month. Pretty sure they even made a thread about it a while ago congratulating her.

At the start, unless they're already an established novelist, they probably don't get that much for their works.
But as they become more famous, more visited etc. they make more money, and at some point they might become professional novelists writing a set amount on time limits one specific sites, and depending on where they're from and how good they are they might even have their novels / books published / licensed into further works which might give more income.

Broadly speaking, there's likely no specific number for any category of authors, but there'll be 'advisory numbers' based on authors who pull off similar amounts of chapters / words with similar amounts of readers etc.

So honestly, unless you write something really amazing, previously wrote something really amazing or get a very large amount of readers early on, or can adbomb your site to hell without it ever bothering any visitors at all, don't expect a large income quickly.

The question isn’t what type of novel but what type of girl.

What they reported was the total revenue before the shares were split, and other payments and taxes were paid. That's how much the novel generated, and after paying taxes, WEBNOVEL fees, and other splits, what was left would prolly be 40-50 thousand a year. But that's still a lot if I am to say so.

Still, I can be wrong about it all, and we will never know unless she publicizes what she earned by herself.

honestly, if it's in my country. Something similar to twilight or fifty shades of gray will do a great job. Teens got so obsessed with these stories that these type of ML, that almost all amateur writers got instantly famous

Maybe she sell some bath water on the side... :blobwhistle:

But seriously, don't expect webnovel writing to be a easy get rich quick scheme...
It's more like playing the lottery : 100% of the winners has taken their chance (but 100% losers too and they far outnumbers winners... At the point that it's more accurate to write winner without a "s", and loser with a lot more "s")...

She is most likely selling her copyrights to the book to a degree as well. Hence the price.

This means, webnovel can translate it to Chinese etcetera without anyone lifting a brow.

    the girl who sell bathwater....

personaly i think novice writer should just try it as hobby, if they like it and are good at it they can try make some money from it. Otherwise is better to keep it as hobby....

Em, do you understand that the authors of those two book series are multi-millionaires, right? Those aren't some random shitty novels, but high-level money grabbers by professionals who know their audience very well.

If it was as simple as that then there would be many more millionaires among writers in this genre.
