Lately I keep seeing this in translation but cannot really understand its meaning as the contexts in which it is used is not always the same nor similar.

Is a "xing mo" some sort of professional high level criminal, a terrorist, a political dissident? Searching Google only lead to people named Xing Mo

I remember "mo" as something like devil/evil.
Though there can be other meaning.
It's Chinese, there are different tones.

Even you who read it didn't understand, let alone us who don't even know what you're trying to ask here.

you have to give the raw form for people to know which you are talking about and explain to you.
and saying you've seen it recently may not help
recently can refer to every chapter of the exact same novel you read, a couple of chapters in different novels, you have to specify where

for all you know, xing mo may be a character name lol

If you get it in mtl, just imagine the word doesn't exist.

That...is a terrible idea. Elysion did that with entire paragraphs. He wasn't even a MTLer. It was outright fraud.

Xing Mo can have different meaning by the tone
You need to give the raw version

If you read it in mtl or on lnmtl. It already hardly make any sense anyway. Not knowing what it means or remove it doesn't change much.

You don't know that. You have to read the RAWs to know that. And Elysion is proof that it can make a huge difference.

If you try reading on lnmtl, the sentences barely make sense. And words that don't have english equivalent would be left as is. I know, i've tried reading on lnmtl a couple of novels. You can't understand what its about, just a vague understanding. Like seriously, try read anything on lnmtl.

Thanks but I don't think that's it. It is always used to describe a person or a group as a "xing mo".

Give the sentence, the novel name and the chapter. Ai-chan knows you likely don't know what character is used, but people can backtrack from there if they care enough to help you. Do you know how many characters are romanized as 'xing'?

    猩猩

This isn't even all of them. All of these have different meanings. We're not even gonna start with 'mo'. Heck, it could mean 'Star Mushroom' for all Ai-chan care.

Thanks for the suggestion @Ai chan.
It is in several chapters of Back to the Apocalypse but I have seen it in a lot of other novels as well as news casts were the reporters used the word "xing mo".
    In this chapter - https://chrysanthemumgarden.com/novel-tl/btta/btta-89/
I searched the raw and identified that this is the section 职业罪犯 . Google translated it as "criminal". The sentence does not contain the characters for "xing" nor "mo". I am not sure why the the translator used "xing mo"

The translator also doesn't have xing mo in this given example, nor in their entire website. Any other example? Maybe even the articles you mentioned. All I can find are models.
