21st Century Fox should have stayed as is. Also, Fox News should have gone to the current Newscorp and re-brand as a different name. 20th Century Fox as we knew them is dead in both spirit and name. 21st Century Fox should have also sold their Marvel rights to Disney in exchange for Lucasfilm.

Now that the X-Men, F4, and Deadpool-related character will be in the MCU someday, thoughts on this re-branding of 20th Century Fox? The 20th Century Fox logo minus "Fox" was carried over from the logo for 20th Century Pictures. On 5/31/1935, that company merged with the Fox Film Corp to form 20th Century Fox.

Shame on Rupert Murdoch for selling off most of the Fox Empire, for the USDOJ permitting a semi-monopoly, and Disney for buying. 1000s of lay-offs are not worth it. Uncle Walt and film producer William Fox would not approve of this merger.

Of course they wouldn't. The current owners of Disney bought the corporation explicitly for the purpose of doing things with it that Walt would never have allowed.

don't really care, as long as deadpool movies keep being R rated and fun
and merger of this type will always occur, preventing a monopoly is not about stoping the big from merging but not allowing the big ones to eat the small ones/ new ones, so if you want to fight the disney monopoly, next time you go to the cinema watch a movie from a small/indie studio and watch the next marvel/star wars movie at the high seas

Uh, had that moron Rupert Murdoch sold the Fox Marvel rights to Disney in exchange for Lucasfilm, then this merger could have been avoided! Also, a movie studio that had a legacy lasting over 105 years prior to Disney buying them out is a lot more important than an R-rated Deadpool movie!

@elengee: Fox News is legally-owned by the Fox Corp which is not part of Disney. Same goes for Fox Network and a few other Fox channels. However, channels like FX are now Disney-owned.

Well, lots of good movies will always be remembered as 20th century fox's no matter who buys what, but past is past no matter how glorious it was, life must go on and all that stuff, but here is what truly is strange, why is this Kadmos1 thread got no Ai chan element in it, now this is what truly is weird, shame on Kadmos1:blobpeek:

While "fun" is subjective, I enjoyed "Ford vs. Ferrari" and "The Art of Racing in the Rain".

It was being produced either during when the buying was still pending or before! It was released after the buy-out was completed.
