So it turns out that MC's bio father is Chloe, who is the lovechild of a noble lady who was taken by force by a member of the royal family. Chloe was the child of the lady & her fiance while Chloe's sister (Frey, the court judge) is the child of the lady & the royal. The royal found out & he exiled both his wife & Chloe. Chloe met Apple (MC's mom the prostitute) & fell in love with her but due to circumstances, he had to flee to Croa & keep his existence hidden. The noble became the marquis of Croa & took in Chloe & his mom. They are on good terms with King Lahon.

The royal family of MC's country has special powers because the first king was a half-god. It's activated through extreme desperation or regret. ML wanted to escape an assassin so he ended up gaining the power of teleportation. Chloe's mom was forcibly acknowledged as a member of the royal family through the holy spring, but she is not blood-related so the power that MC inherited has more severe side-effects compared to ML's power.

The real enemy is not MC's half-sister, but instead - the head of the Aristocratic faction, "Princess" Iris. In MC's original life, the Aristocrats suppressed ML (crown prince)'s power & continued to oppress the masses even more. ML is trying to improve things for the middle & lower classes, which is why he's attacking & targeting the wealth of the nobles, including the MC's "family".

The Count continues to disappoint & mistreat MC & Apple even after MC shows off her knowledge & abilities, so MC no longer helps the Count & just lets/encourages ML to attack the Aristocratic faction even more. MC's tutor, just like in the last life, falls in love with a Marquis & gets married to him. He is also genuinely kind to MC & the couple's lovey dovey gentleness towards MC actually moves her to tears & her first real smile. MC manages to seduce Oscar but his sister Iris forcibly stops this love, makes him get engaged to Mielle & then she starts attacking MC through Mielle, her loyal dog. MC counterattacks by brainwashing Mielle's spy (a maid called Annie) & convincing the assassin (another spy/maid sent by Mielle) to put the blame on Emma, the head maid & Mielle's kinda-foster-mom (Mielle's mom died young so Emma's the only "mom" she knows). Emma is hanged for her crimes & Mielle totally loses it, dropping her kind facade.

Cain later comes back & he turns out to be exactly the same kind of scum as his dad - easily falling in love with MC (ew) because of her face. MC points out that if she knew he was this easy in her past life, she would have used him waaaaaay earlier.

Because MC & ML are suppressing the Aristocrats & gaining both massive rep & wealth in society, Mielle finally snaps by the time they are publicly engaged. She shoves the Count down a flight of stairs during a party & screams that MC did it. However, when MC tried to catch the Count, the special bracelet that ML gave her broke. He warped in, saw what happened, grabbed MC & teleported away with her in front of a shocked Mielle. Together, they stitched together an alibi for MC (the only witnesses at the party were Mielle's friends but they didn't see the ML) by traveling through towns & leaving behind receipts in front of many witnesses. ML also gave MC his own bracelet (it's a one of a kind set made to alert him if MC is in danger) since her's was broken.

Mielle ranting about ML's powers was used to their advantage because they claimed that Mielle probably took hallucinogenic drugs at the party (which resulted in everyone getting interrogated & tested & this caused her friends to immediately retract their statements about seeing MC push the Count). Frey is the judge proceeding over this trial btw. The Count is still super paralyzed so after he regains consciousness, he doesn't say a single thing about lessening Mielle's prison sentence, even when Cain asks him to (Cain agreed to playing along with Mielle's deception so he could take the Count's power early, break off MC's engagement & then forcibly keep her confined in the house with him). The Count loses faith in his bio kids & regrets not treating MC & Apple better.

Iris was so insulted by ML refusing to be engaged to her that she immediately sent for an engagement to King Lahon, which dropped her rep as she was basically selling out to an enemy nation. Mielle & Iris escape to Croa & appeal to Lahon to invade their country via subterfuge so he can take over the royal family & hand their power over to the Aristocrats. Every member of the Aristocratic party lets their manors house "guests" aka foreign soldiers (who, under the orders of Lahon, totally exploit the hell out of the nobles during their stay), under the assumption that this would become their army once King Lahon & Iris showed up. Mielle falls for Lahon & immediately tries to steal him from Iris, which infuriates her.

King Lahon & ML were allies the entire time, so instead of invading ML's country, the army is used to arrest the entire Aristocratic party for treason. A high ranking member of that party was working as a double agent for ML & thus faked Lahon's seal on all the papers the Aristocratic party used on letters asking Lahon to invade (which meant that Lahon never agreed to it :>). Oscar sells out Iris & ML calls him out on this, saying that he was hoping Oscar was doing this out of patriotism & not because of his crush on MC. The entire Aristocratic party sells out Iris but this doesn't lessen their sentences at all. Meanwhile, MC visits the jail to spare Mielle from execution & brainwashes her into thinking that MC is truly a kind saint & Mielle an evil villainess who needs to survive, suffer & repent.

Apple divorces the Count by convincing him that Cain's arrest means that they need to be separated so she can put the Count's remaining properties under her name so they can keep living. She immediately turns cold towards him once he signs them & tells him that he should have considered treating them nicer when he still had everything & not only when his own spoiled bio kids betrayed him & he's been reduced to a penniless cripple. They bring over all the original servants at the Count's manor (as MC has won them over ever since Emma died & Mielle went crazy), which makes them think of both MC & Apple as even MORE saintly, since the servants of the Aristocratic party usually lost their jobs after their masters were arrested.

King Lahon brought Chloe & the Marquis with him to meet Apple & MC btw. MC didn't know about any of this so ML had to explain everything to her (he figured out MC's secret backstory because Chloe & her have a similar aura & there's a painting of Chloe in the royal palace. He had MC touch the holy spring to confirm her power & then went to Croa to double-check with Lahon & the Marquis.)

I like this novel because she is truly a typical villainess that drove to jealousy and inferiority complex. And when she went back to the past she make sure that she and her step sister will reversed role. She did to many trial and error to seek revenge and to avoid her death.

    1. She tried to seduced oscar (future fiancee of her step sister) failed
    2. Tried to take the favor of her step father (failed and the glory was given to her step sister)
    3. Make money and build forces (success).
She make use her power and knowledge to build power and make money (funny thing she cheated in the casino and makes more money due to her ability) which can reverse time for 5 min.

The mc also many suitors due to her angelic beauty
    1. Oscar fell in love with her but the problem is he cannot make decision for himself and was dictated by her sister (princess isis crown prince future fiancee-- hates aria so much bec. Her mother was prostitute). He was also threatened by her sister that she will harm aria if he didn't obey her.
    2. Cain her step brother.. mc felt disgusted to him due to his lust eyes on her which is not appropriate for siblings
    3. Crown prince (puppet prince by aristocratic party). They met unexpectedly at the general store and was interested to the mc due to her warning to the gen store owner (about casino case) that it will only waste his fortune bec. It will be bankrupt soon. Afterwards, the prince thought she was millie (mc step sister) and sent gifts to persuade her thru his subordinate. And eventually known that he made huge mistake and keep it up to her by sending tulips (royal family symbol) instead of lilies (roscent family symbol) which the mc didnt know that he was a royal and kept thinking that it is use to mock her or as greetings.

I love the crown prince he is so sweet. He support the mc whatever she do, he put tulips on the whole capital to proposed to her and even design her wedding dress on their wedding

I don't either. I generally feel sympathy When because of misunderstandings or because of things out of their control their 1st life sucks. Or reincarnation or they wake up reborn in decide to just keep to themselves to not die. I'm not really caring for she didn't learn her lesson she just now has a cheat code to beat her sister. plus you find out she's part of the problem of her past life I don't feel bad for her she kind of annoys me

”at this rate the crown princess might as well become the emperor” said the crown prince

yeah 3.5/5.. it was a thrilling experience to read the merciless revenge.. But I feel like the MC loses her justification near the end of her revenge, since the truth is she didn't really lose anything in the present.. she and her mother robbed the count, even tho the count was someone who brought them as noble in the first place.. he is not a good person and he didn't love her as much as his daughter, but he gave them money at least.. so when they intentionally robbed him.. I kinda felt bad for him..

The crown prince become the kinda obvious thing to make the MC having more advantages .. I don't really like that.. he was someone who struggle against corrupt noble to make a stable base power for himself, yet someone like him easily said that he'd sell the empire if it is what his wife want.. which is urggh.. it was a joke.. but that's horrible if i heard it as bystander and am a citizen of the empire..

I am not warning up to her but this scratches my revenge itch lately. I'm not really invested into as I had in other MCs because, in its entirety, The plot is too straightforward but I could appreciate a good battle of wits and subtle revenge plots.

IN what chapter did the mother and daughter stole form the count?
Who did he refer as his wife?
I'm just in the chapter where the MC learned that ML is the Crown Prince.

just binged the novel and as much as I love it, the wall of text has gives me so many 'distractions' that I would prefer a webtoon. Thanks for the link.

I just wanted to share my thoughts on the FL because she was refreshing from most FLs out there.

It is a really good novel and the title truly true to the novel, FL is not the innocent and naive type. As for her revenge plan were mostly counterattacks of antagonists plans. In the first life she was only a 13 year old girl who was at a new environment and people judged her all the time and had horrible reputation.she was surrounded by bad influences and people who basically used her as pawan and her mom did not pay so much attention to her and later died young so her mom never had chance to know what’s going on before she went stray. Before her death she admitted all her faults but when she knew all was Miele plan because she was jealous and used her to get herself better reputation and all her life misfortunes were on her. So in the second life she truly become the Villainess and play white lotus in order to get her revenge back. She has some psychological trauma from her past life. In the novel she even admitted if Miele let her be and didn’t mess up with her she wouldn’t care about Miele or try anything to harm anyone and loved vanity and spent her life like that.

This story truly suited for webtoon.

Just 2 chapter, but i think the image mielle really suit her. Aria with makeup ia good too. The cartoonist describe them well~
And this novel plot really suit webtoon pace at first, so it won't be out of place, i think~
But i hope they not make it a drama without have an actor suit aria and mielle charm.

Right now, I think I already know what will happen since I have read the novel. I’m not sure if it will be the same as the webtoon though. More likely yes, but we have to wait and see.

"Its not bad if if its for the MC"

every justification for these types of novels. I don't find the MC that likeable either. That's why I find revenge novels to be terrible. Rarely can you sympathize with the protag anymore, and it just gives you a weird feeling when they keep on winning. When you start involving bystadners then you know it just becomes destructive and realistically the MC shouldn't get out unscathed anymore either. Then its a happy ending and it all seems so fake and hollow

Count of mont Cristo is still the pinnacle for revenge novels
