The romance part is painful to read tbh. The MC and FL spend most of the time separated after they get "engaged". Tang San fucks over Huo Yuhao, again and again. IIRC, most of it is HYH going out of his way to help FL because of TS's bullshit, while TS justifies it as doing it for HYH's growth and his good. TS has a "overprotective father with daughter complex who screws over the husband" trope in many of his novels, just that, this one felt even more so than his other novels. Plot-wise DD2 is good. Characters and setting link up well in the end. It sets a good base for DD3 too.
Well, DD1 didn't have any of that. But yea, I remember reading somewhere that Tang San put some sort of restriction on his daughter where men won't be able to touch her or something. Like, he's basically putting a chasity belt on his daughter. Just because he took so long to fuck his wife even though he knew her since childhood doesn't mean he gets to make others go through that same thing!
Nah, it's not just the "cant touch" thing. It's worse, where he makes anything bad happening to FL look like MC's fault. Especially, Spoiler 1. When they go to that God of Love valley and FL becomes unconscious, and it was TS's interference in the first place that caused it iirc, and he blames MC like wtf. 2. She falls unconscious again due to Holy Spirit Cult's Cult Master's sneak backstab. This time it's worse: MC has the only yin-yang dual nucleus in the world, and he wants him to donate his spiritual nucleus to FL, when that is the most important nucleus for spiritual type soul master that MC is and become unable to cultivate further again or become a vegetable or something like that. As for the reason that he gives everytime, it's either that he wants to see if he's worthy of his daughter or his duty as her future husband or something, or it's for his growth or for his own good.
I only feel sorry for the FL reading this. She can't even escape cause her father is basically a god.
