Discussion Are you still able to get the following products where you live?

1) Face masks.

2) Alcohol/Antibacterial wipes

3) Dettol or any other brand of antibacterial spray

4) Dettol or any other brand of antibacterial soap.

5) Dettol or any other brand of antibacterial solution

Just went to the biggest supermarket in my neighborhood. All of the above items have been wiped clean off the shelves.

 

Which country you are talking about?

 

They all being sent to places that need them more now lol. No kidding, all the face masks we get here are either imported from Japan, Thailand, Korea or Taiwan. People line up early in the morning to get one box of masks for quadruple or several times more than the original price. Each person is limited to just one box of 50 pcs. It's crazy.

Also, all the sanitary products eg hand wash, have been swiped off the shelf since precautions need to be taken so it makes sense.

 

Pretty sure the paranoia hasn't hit my area yet, so there probably is still tons of those around here...

 

There's still some in my area

 

1) There's none left, even ordered 6 packs online, but the seller only delivered 5 because she said she ran out of stock.

2) Alcohol for antiseptic purposes can still be found. Alcohol for consumption purposes are still plenty on the shelves.

3) Never bought antibacterial spray. But you can just put bleach into a garden sprayer and use that as antibacterial spray.

4) Antibacterial soap is still being sold.

5) Dettol is sold out in supermarkets, but the local moms and pops stores still have some old stock in store.

 

I am from Singapore. But, of course, I am also curious about the situation in other countries.

 

You should've stocked up on N-95s from last year's haze XD

 

Hahaha... I am actually not too concerned about the face masks. But it's just that, even before the whole Wuhan flu thing, I have already been using alcohol wipes and disinfectant spray in my daily life. I stock them up on a twice-a-month basis. Last time I stocked up on them was two weeks ago. Today I went to NTUC and found the shelves empty. FML.

 

I mean... no shop has face masks in my area. Never had.

And antibacterial stuff is forbidden for general public because it makes immune bacteria happen.

Alcohol tissues are on the shelves tho.

what.. do you use disinfectant spray on?

 

I'm in New Zealand. We have plenty of all of those things because nothing's happening here. Maybe when a few people have been confirmed infected the wave will start. I have stocks of all of these things anyway since I'm picky about cleaning, organizing and hygiene and the cleaning lady occasionally misses details when she breezes through once per week.

 

Besides the face masks (not something we buy here at all ... but should be available somewhere) everything is fully stocked in supermarkets, drugstores etc.
