Yes, I'm degenerate and bored enough to raise the millennium question.

My fellow deviants, let us find out the truth! Share your views and sources on the subject.

Do animals, insects, and even plants experience a relationship similar to NTR?

To avoid confusion, I'm referring to all types of NTR. Please specify the animals, insect, or plants experiencing NTR and which NTR type.

Isn't that survival of the fittest, they're mating if there's chance with any from their species. So, no ntr just like polyamory relationship

Probably all animals do (or alot of them do), but the term ntr isn't the correct term to use when it comes to the animal kingdom
You can read this or this or check other sources if you want

What, are you gonna cuck your pet dog with his mate by fucking your other female dog or something just to assert your superiority as the master?

if we are to have this discussion serious first we need to look at NTR.
if we look at the physical aspecto NTR ; yeah animal can be ntr.
but if we look at the emotional aspect of NTR and is something i see as real ntr; since is the main point of the trope, i do not believe animals can be ntr, because they can not be emotional invested in their partner like we do, they mate to reproduce and animals who are invested in their partner like some ones who have only one in their entire life, like i said they only have one and most of they accept death after their partner is gone or life alone.

from what I know lion do as the male lion will challenge the king and if he does become king he will end that kings bloodline by killing all the cubs and then he will mate with the lioness and have many cubs until he is dethroned and another lion takes his place.

The consequences have a tendency to be...violent. Or not, depends on the species.

Insects birds walruses. Don't really remember the details it's been too long.

    That's not ntr.

Some males have to guard female or others will come in and mate. I think walruses can have their harem stolen.

they do cheat but thats not because it feels good but it's all about making children or the instinct to have children. Its all about strength when it comes to animals with harems/family(w/e you call the group-pride etc). Females will submit to the winner that time or the other way for a few cant remember species. They dont feel NTR because the species that mate for life dont cheat at all.

This is truly an interesting thread. Imagine the ethical considerations about this when we have demihumans in our society. Of course, they would be in equal or lower footing compared to us, because we would an existential crisis should they be superior to us in every sense.

    Bonobos!
"Whereas the chimpanzee shows little variation in the sexual act, bonobos behave as if they have read the Kama Sutra, performing every position and variation one can imagine," biologist Frans de Waal
"The range of activities includes mouth-to-mouth kissing, oral sex, genital caressing by hand, penis-fencing by two males, male-on-male mounting, and genito-genital rubbing by two estrous females, who smoosh their swollen vulvas back and forth against each other in a spate of feverish sisterly cordiality. Usually there's no orgasm culminating these activities,"

But their creative "bedroom" antics are for more than mating purposes. It's part of their normal social interaction that helps maintain their female-run society.

"Their social purpose seems to be communication of various sorts: expression of goodwill, calming of excitement, greeting, tension relief, bonding, solicitation of food sharing, and reconciliation. To that list of benefits we might also add sheer pleasure and (for the juveniles) instructional play. Varied and frequent and often nonchalant, sex is a widely applied social lubricant that helps keep bonobo politics amiable," said Quammen.

It happens all the time. And frecuently too... but the difference is that the strongest paw, hoof, horns, color, gets the female... its somewhat common that animals couples only last the mating period then on the next they find new parners...
As for insects??... not many experience NTR as they are eaten by the female most of the time lol
