I don’t necessarily mean in terms of looks, but also money & status. Usually in romance novels, the ML is always handsome/rich/powerful. Even if his wealth doesn’t play a huge part in the story, he’s always from a wealthy family. It’s rare that I come across a story where the ML *isn’t* rich or powerful. There were some slice-of-life-ish stories, but they’re often a bit boring... Can be either gay or straight romance, as long as it’s good and the story/characters are interesting. Female love interest is ok as well. Edit— to clarify, I’m looking for average characters (BOTH leads, not just one person), but has an interesting story & well-written romance.

Pretty sure the Raeliana one is not average, probably the Duchess one too. I wouldn't really call nobles at the Duke rank average, they're basically the medieval version of CEOs.

For Webtoon the good one is "The Secret of Angel". Highly recomend this. -Freaking Romance is good too. The love between 2 people in different dimensions. Although the both of MC come from wealthy condition (the male is idol in other dimensions and the girl is a daughter from rich family) but they're through a difficult moment and fate brings them together in one apartment. -As you wish Prince is good too, since the ML is Villain too. "You are my angel" and "melo holic" are good too. For Webtoon 18+R "Queen Bee" and "What's going on" are good. For manga, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of it. But the only one for me the good one until now is "Nozoki Anna" (I cried a lot!) and for the light Novel, try "hataraku mou sama" (a demon king who get transformed to the 21 century and working in McD) But for Manhua, I guess 99,9% a lot of the story the ML always rich! Unless you search the manhua that not include to romance genre. But I pretty recommend -Stay with the CEO (Altought the title there is a "CEO" but the ML in here is the villains one. That's why this Manhua caught my attention. Because it is unusual) -Bringing The National Husband back -My wife is a demon Queen (This is adventure,action, Romance, comedy where the ML from earth need to help the Queen's of Demon in RPG back to get her throne) For Yuri -tamen de gushi -Miss angel, miss devil -what the fox say? -why you are exist (I think the title little bit wrong XD) I guess those are that I ever read...hmm... I think, I missed some story but I'll add it in the future if I suddenly find them .
