.....(looks at your profil pic) do octopus(mollusk) even feel pain when they bang their head on hard surface ?
Lol y'all Then you should thank meow for this recommendation. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/parasite_2019
So let me get this straight: You capture someone the Director of Intelligence has specifically, SPECIFICALLY said "DON'T FUCK WITH HIM" You're unable to remove all of his extremely powerful and deadly equipment because it's too magical so you just time him up in a circle of mana crystals since it keeps him from activating said equipment. You don't leave a number of guards to keep him an eye on him. The only person in the area isn't even told that HE'S FUCKING DEADLY. You then proceed to piss him off and then leave him alone... The sheer incompetency of this alone should garner an execution order from the Emperor, let alone what our most gloriously fuzzy director is going to do. Well assuming any of them survive Isaac since you stupid fucks woke up the Monster. So the questions that come are: Will Kunette get there before everyone in the fortress is already dead? Will Isaac still be there by the time Kunette gets there? Will Kunette show up in human form or bear form if Isaac is there? Will Isaac attack Kunette? Will Kunette be able to soothe the Monster? Will Kunette say "Fuck it" and join Isaac in going to murder the Dark Royale?
Well, they're... overconfident, and assuming she's holding back on them / fallen for him What else could they do? The less they know, the less they can change things. They were under the assumption they were either in the process of wiping his memories, or had already succeeded, turning him into a vegetable Unless they hole up somewhere secure, and she's got access to teleports or very quick flying beasts, unlikely, if she ever heads there immediately She might not head there, and he has no reason to stay for anyone other than to set up traps. To him, everyone is either betraying him, helping them betray him, being complacent in letting them betray him or people out of the loop, none of the groups really appealing to interact with. Depends on if he's actually there, and noone dares to enter to have a talk with him, then they would send in a negotiator, and she might fit the role. Although, her position might come out then, so that wouldn't really help their friendship or trust Mentally maybe. Physically, not directly is my guess On her own ? No. Why would she even? She gave it her best to keep the beast sedated/happy, it was the others who decided to kidnap it and try to effectively nuke it to oblivion. Why stop at them?
She's the Director of Surveillance and it isn't actually confirmed yet that Kunette is this blond woman who showed up.
And She's non-human and been around Isaac enough for people to claim she's fallen in love with him. That limits the pool pretty much to Kunette.
Also she's the only one who can see Isaac's inner self which is the the monster who chaining itself to sleep
Slow day... and again the higher ups are all pricks, as shown here and in past examples. The author is really selling hard on that isn't it?
To me it more feels like the author is saying 'Hey, these big groups that you put your trust in? Yeah, they don't actually care about the individual. They have their goals and don't mind about any damage that they do that doesn't affect them or their goals.' Which, unfortunately, is true.
So basically what I had said, except you tried and failed to humanize it. Not just big groups, individuals with more power than you also counts, considering how the CO in the first few chapters literally a coward yet tried to hang Isaac for being one and now the viscount venting his frustrations on a dead knight who did his job. Really shows us how our higher ups see us as things like pawns or cogs instead of people.
Can't wait for new chapters more like. Also gotta say, being able to translate the political part of the story well is quite an achievement in terms of quality.
As per usual I reread the chapter again. And I just realized Isaac just John Wicked that guy with a pen. He killed a man with only a pen.
