I looked up an entry on it, apparently it's based on a novel (novel has 400-something chapters). ML ends up getting entangled with a lot of women...not my kind of thing since I read monogamy novels, but the setup is good from what I can tell. He's not picking up women just because he's lecherous and the story's more about him and politics. ML becomes famous as a powerful and competent minister. He marries a princess (and possibly a few other women). At least one marriage is an arranged marriage (I'm guessing by the Emperor).
